I think there must be friendship there as Mordin helped him out and I don't think he'd give away classified files to just anyone. I don't think Shepard even knew that Garrus' mother was in such a state and didn't even know he had a sister.

I'm betting Garrus was feeling desperate enough to talk to Mordin to see if he could help his mum since I'm betting Mordin is well connected with the Salarian scientific community.  Mordin would probably have helped him get the collector tissue to the research place too, since I doubt Garrus would have a clue on how to collect and package it so it would arrive in a useful condition.

Based on Mordin's character I'm sure he would have been more than happy to help out of a combination of a sense of scientific curiosity, an understanding of familial connections and friendship.  I doubt he would have said a thing to Shepard since he knows all about keeping secrets and would figure it was on a need to know basis.

Yeah, could be a case of Mordin feeling this was a personal, confidential health matter--not Garrus', but Garrus' mother's.

Yeah... but doesn't one generally tell one's girlfriend that one's mother is dying?

Saren/Nihlus eh? Well I suppose it was just a question of time before someone wrote something like that. But turian fanart and fanfiction is always welcome of course! Lets spread the popularity of our metallic skinned alien friends with some fanart and fanfiction loving.

Heh, I'm neither the only nor the first.

@buggirl- Thanks for the tip; joined Clan V :D  I'll probably post some junk tonight~

@Xalena- No, that kind of rubbed me the wrong way, too.  Partially because of the implications that Shep isn't over whatever "ew, aliens, weird" mentality that she originally had, and partially because it kind of feeds the Mary Sueishness of the asari in general.  I have never played any of my Sheps to be any more sympathetic towards asari than they are to anyone else.  It may not've been how the writers meant it to sound, but still.

@J4N3- I always thought that the collarbone ridge and other pointy parts would feel kind of like dense, hard cartilage covered with skin that gives a bit but contains metal laced throughout it.  I figure they've got to have skin and subcu fat over the ridgey areas in order to have tattoos.  I suspect they've got a bony skeleton, though.  I could ramble on about this kind of stuff for hours if permitted <_<

I agree with this. I don't like the Asari as a race concept. Also, yea, it does kind of imply a certain viewpoint of the Turians from Shepard.

Sure.  But imagine it from Garrus' angle.  He JUST got together with femShep, and it hasn't been established exactly what kind of relationship this is.  They didn't talk about personal stuff before, and since it's before the Omega-4 relay, he doesn't want to screw up his Commander's concentration with personal issues.  Turians put personal stuff aside for missions, or at least they're supposed to.  I consider this emotional constipation part of Garrus' struggle to be a good turian, and to not dump all over his new lady.  To which my femShep would say, "I appreciate that, but from now on, consider me to be in the Need to Know loop."

Also, if femShep romanced Liara first, he has no idea whether or not his new lady is going to get back together with her old flame.  It'd be hard to be all *sniff* WAH, and then have femShep go "Ok well, I'm gonna go embrace eternity, brb."  Might be a similar situation with a femShep who romanced Kaidan.

All true.  Just means Shep needs to sit her turian down and discuss things with him.

Which brings up a question... if you "cheated," are you going to go back to the original LI?

I won't.  Not for Meghan.  She couldn't do that to Garrus and has discovered he's probably better for her anyway, not to denigrate Kaidan, or anything.  Though, frankly, she's leaning toward the, "Why can't I have both?" line of thinking.

I agree with Cia. I can't imagine that Garrus would want to unload anything on Shepard when things are still pretty new and possibly shaky. I think he's feeling like he screws up everything he touches at the moment so I doubt he'd feel confident enough with his connection to Shepard to start offloading stuff. I also think he wouldn't want to add to Shepard's burdens since she's got the whole galaxies fate riding on her future missions.

I'm guessing that if Shepard found out everything at the Shadow Broker's lair that there's a good chance she'd work it into future conversations to give Garrus an opening to talk about it if he wanted. Guess it all depends on how your Shepard roles :-)

when I see those pictures, I wonder how hugging Garrus would be like? I mean, there's this huge collar! Usually in armor. So you're basically banging your head against the armor first *boink* *ouch* and then just lean against it. I wonder what the collar feels like under all this armor. You think it is bones? or more like cartilage?

Maybe that's why they took to headbumping :D
Looking at their anatomy and the concepts, my personal opinion is that Garrus has a keel in is chest, even though he's obviously flightless (flying Garrus?  That would be cool.)   The collar, at least the front of it, looks to be analagous to the wishbone - a pair of fused clavicles.

Definitely part of it.  He's really more turian than he sometimes realizes.

Unless, of course, the markings are just painted on ^_^!  Personally, I'm leaning toward the paint theory.  Why?  Because with all these barefacers running around, I think it makes more sense that they just stopped painting at some point, than that they never got the tattoos at all, which I think would be unlikely due to social pressure.

But then why are Garrus' markings broken like his scars?

My totally fanwanky theory is that it's because the paint is semi-permanent, sort of like henna.

Applying paint to wounded skin doesn't seem like such a good idea to me.

Personally, I've always had it in my head that the markings were kind of like henna, or some other stain, rather than a tattoo that stayed on forever, or a paint that you had to apply like makeup every morning. If a turian stands out in the rain, do his marks run? That'd be embarrassing.

EDIT:  *fistbump JulianP*

Waterproof clan markings make sense :-) Just had a flash of Jack and Garrus in the rain with their "makeup" running down their faces. Not sure who would look worse!

If life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade. Then find someone whos life has given them garrus, and have a party.

Hmmm.  No relation to LemonDemon on Youtube who makes Potter Puppet Pals and dirty-minded Sesame Street Count?
