Watching it again, I love Garrus's little strut towards the camera. But some of the videos make me wonder about their inclusion. Who the heck is this Fred guy, and why does he have three videos dedicated to him?

So thread on the General Discussion that takes a trip down memory lane, specifically the E3 demos from 2006. Aside from seeing Garrus pre-facial markings, I also just noticed for the first time that you apparently could control him during combat directly, like switching party members in Dragon Age. Click for flashback.
Hadn't seen that before, what really got my attention was the mention of 'outlaw space stations' at 1:03 on that vid.
I know they had to cut the game down originally from it's planned size, but it does make me wonder just how much of that stuff ended up in ME2? (Yes I know it's a pretty standard trope, but still...)

Anyway I'm here for the first time in months because the lotsb rekindled my love of mass effect and it made me suddenly want to come back here. You know the Leliana's song DLC? Well it made me think that a character centric mass effect dlc is very possible. While there are a lot of characters with interesting backstory, it would be really great if they made a dlc focusing on Garrus's time as archangel. I think the Leliana thing made it a real possiblity. Although, I'm probably not the first with this idea, it might've been discussed weeks ago, I wouldn't know.
On an unrelated note, I was browsing the character forums and noticed that Tali thread was removed, I know this is probably really old news but I haven't been on the character forums since march, so could someone tell me what happened?

yah they got shut down for good because of picture spam and chat-like behaviour. they've been warned before but apparently didn't take it serious enough and then Woo drew the line!
as for a Garrus DLC, we had that subject in fact a while ago. doesn't mean, we can't discuss it again xD PErsonally, I'm still torn about which part of Garrus' time I'd like to see.....

As for Garrus DLC, I want it. I know it ends badly, but there's a lot of potential.

Also, for those who have played through LotSB with a Liara-manced character, when does she say that line about Garrus calibrating more than the guns? Was she saying it good humoredly or in a b*tchy fashion?
Still catching up, so I don't know if this was answered... but it's definitely the latter.
Her Thane line is, "And now you're trying to take the place of a dying man's wife."
Ouch, Liara. Very ouch. D:

She has a nasty line for all of the romance interests if you cheat...some of them are pretty hurtful.Still catching up, so I don't know if this was answered... but it's definitely the latter.

but understandable from her point of view as well. Better than a real b*tchfight if you ask me and I am glad, the Devs let her make that remark when she's alone with Shep.

I get where you're coming from but it seems more likely that they'd go back, it would give a great insight into his character and I'm very curious about his team. I know it ends babdly but what litle bit I've heard about them seems so interesting, I'd love for the chance to learn more.

I can't really blame her there for lashing out. And, unlike Jacob, she directs her venom at Shepard, the person who actually deserves it. Plus, she softens up later and wishes you happiness.
I'm curious what the other lines are. Besides the two above, I've only read Tali's.
Back to Garrus. I'm not really sure I'd want to play as Garrus in a DLC. And especially not as Archangel. I was really looking forward to Leliana's Song, but there was something off-putting about playing an established character with a defined past in a RPG.

Like I said, I'm still torn. On the one hand, I know that it will end badly still it's tempting to learn more about this time. On the other hand, I'd like to see him do something similar like Liara. I wish, they could somehow combine it. Like, doing a mission that takes place after the SM but either has flashbacks of his time on Omega or even better, video logs and stuff like that.

I agree on that. It was fun, playing Joker for a short while, but playing Garrus or any other squad member would be weird because they have their own "style" of fighting. I'm the gamer and I'm Shepard! I don't want to be anyone else in the game!

I echo this statement. I don't want any depressing DLC. Especially Archangel. Then it would leave me wanting more, like finally giving the poor guy a damn hug.Sialater wrote...
