My paragade actually might be inclined to shoot Sidonis. I flip-flop on this constantly. I just find it frustrating that a large deciding factor in that decision is metagaming rather than what my character would naturally do.

From what I've read a lot of people seem to have thought that if they let Sidonis live it would be at the cost of Garrus's loyalty. The thought never even crossed my mind, though his loyalty mission remains one of the most emotionally tense missions in the game for me. That cab scene...gah.
True that.
One reason for deciding to shoot Sidonis that genuinely bothers me is "because it's what Garrus wanted", particularly when the player themselves didn't necessarily want to shoot him. Humouring someone's impulses, especially when they have that much of an emotional charge, is really not a very good approach to things.
But yeah, I agree that it's kind of annoying that people who do shoot Sidonis don't get more dialogue. I haven't seen what Garrus does or doesn't say if you do it, but it makes it seem as though the game is telling you that Paragon is the "right" decision. I might think so, but that doesn't mean everyone does.

Even worse is if you decide to preserve the Collector base - even the squaddies who suggest keeping it (Garrus being one of them) change their tune back on the Normandy. This is completely FAIL in my opinion.Nilfalasiel wrote...

In-game turians seem just taller than humans, on average. I would say he's 6ft if I had to guess, but I don't think we have any official stats. We don't even know how old he is... /glares at BiowareBuggirl70 wrote...

I can ask JeanLuc the next time I see him. He's got all the models layed out. We've got an official height for Shepard I think, and we can compare them side by side.Tootles FTW wrote...

The codex says that turians usually stand over six feet. But we don't see that much, since turians all look the same height. But we don't have an exact height.

That would be awesome. Everyone here would give you a cookie for that. And in the meantime I would guess 6 feet+.

Well, maybe that song plays during a love scene? Joker has certainly been watching something Vaenia related. Again, I don't think it's definitive proof of anything. I just don't think it's totally OCC for Garrus to have seen and possibly liked both films or to at least have watched some scenes from the extranet or something.
I'm pretty sure, Joker forced him to watch that scene on ExtraTube xD

Has anyone wonder what the vids that Garrus talked about in his romance? I usually assume that they are those soppy soap operas.

Yeah, they would have to be female. Garrus wouldn't have a Y chromosome, he'd be ZZ (males are ZZ, females are ZW for birds and reptiles) Shep would only have an X, so no XY baby boys (I majored in genetics)

I don't know what the heck he means. Part of me thinks he meant porn. Part of me thinks he downloaded some vid sort of like Tali did that "Human Courtship and Mating" vid and then never watched it. I just think he finally decided to wing it. I have no idea why he did, but I am kind of glad he did. I think femshep did all the research and maybe he counted on that so he decided to go with trying to get the "smooth" parts done or something. And for that, I think he just went with what had worked for him in the past with turian women. I guess he figured he was doing something right or femshep would never have been interested in the first place. And she did keep laughing and seeming amused by his previous attempts at being suave or witty so maybe he went with that.

I think he referred to the vids he got from Mordin. I mean, we know that FemShep got all kinds of stuff from our favorite salarian so I always assumed, Garrus got the same but just never watched it.

*EDIT*
I think the part of me that was disturbed by it was that ok yes they're happy they have a family and all - but I actually don't see that happening (ok they're adopted). There are a few fan fics, wishful thinking perhaps, about Garrus and Shep having children (yes the mutant baby thing)but I just don't see them that way.
rant - The baby thing is a sore point with me right now, I mean why do people insist that you can't be happy unless you have them? Why the hell does this have to intrude even into fantasy life? Okay thats a stupid question really there's lots of reasons why, but hey why does it have to intrude into MY fantasy life. I have RL for this crap . /end rant
I don't think its everyone. I want kids, but I have many friends who don't - I guess its a personality thing. Besides, for me, it's also interesting to try and come up with an idea to justify it in my head

I think it's possible. Certainly Garrus and Shep weren't being subtle because lots of folks seemed to pick up on it. I think most of the ship knows by the time Omega 4 rolls around. But I think whatever vids he might have gotten from Mordin would have been clinical ones and I don't think he watched them. Plus, he references vids he should have watched when he fails to come up with a smooth line. That makes me think maybe he had intended to watch something that went a bit beyond just anatomy. Hence the "Human Courtship and Mating" vid possibility.

That one can be justified though: they are in favour of keeping the base for its own sake (as am I), however, they don't approve of TIM getting his grubby mitts on it (as do I), which is driven home when you see his reaction to keeping the base (apparently, I've never tried). That's why the squaddies are all like "uh-oh, maybe that wasn't such a good idea after all".
'Course, it's a little silly to think that they never took TIM's involvement into account, but that's a different issue.
And yeah, it would be great to get some sort of figure on Garrus' height. But he's going to be 6ft+, I imagine. Turians are taller than humans in general.

I was wondering why he never watched the vids either, and there are a couple of different reasons I can think of. It the vid was some boring/cheesy documentary, he might not have been interested. If it was pr0n, he might have thought it would be too extreme for a first date. In any case, he might just have felt that being given a template would cheapen the moment somehow, or felt it would've been too awkward to watch pr0n to inform himself about a relationship he would like to be about more than just sex. 'Course, when push came to shove, he was looking a lot less reassured. But yeah, I think he just looked up some anatomical diagrams to make sure what was where 'n stuff, but watching a vid might have been either too boring or too embarrassing for him.
However, he's the one that told Shep he'd be doing research, so I don't see why he'd expect her to do it.
But yeah, I think he was referring to vids Mordin gave him (perhaps the turian version of what he sent to Shep?), but there's a good chance that those vids contain pr0n anyway, knowing Mordin. And by that, I don't mean that Mordin watches pr0n, but he may very well think that it's a good example of certain sexual practices, or get a chuckle out of embarrassing people.

Well, maybe he found out that Mordin had given Shep vids or something and then just figured she could handle it as she really is the one who seems the calmest and collected throughout the whole thing. Plus, my Shep is the sort who would totally do research no matter what Garrus said so I always just chalked it up to him thinking "Shep never goes into anything blind, she'll know what to do and I should stop panicking." Granted that wouldn't work with all Sheps, but it works with mine. But even something like him thinking "Shep always figures out what to do" could work for pretty much any Shep especially if he did try watching something and was totally weirded out and/or confused. Maybe he just shrugged his shoulders and decided to leave it up to fate and Shep's determination.
And I think Mordin sending porn along with educational vids is a complete possibility just because he likes to mess with people's heads.

"Shrugging his shoulders" seems inconsistent for Garrus, to me. I mean, you said earlier that he seems to be the kind of person who goes into detailed preparations for missions, and his willingness to do research demonstrates the same kind of approach. It's pretty much the first thing he says when the topic of sex comes up. I'm sure he's committed to getting the actual process right, it's the finer points of courtship that are probably a bit too much for him to handle (shades of grey again), which would be why I can see him not watching vids, but totally consulting a detailed anatomical diagram.
Also, "shrugging his shoulders" sounds a bit too unmotivated for me, like he's not really interested in making things work, and that Shep should do all the heavy lifting. Me no likes that.
