I don't think he went to Joker because Joker doesn't seem to like him much, and Joker is also a gossip and everybody knows that. If he went to anybody I think he went to Mordin, or even more likely Mordin just brought it up out of the blue like he did with Shep. Or he may have just downloaded some stuff on his lonesome. I wouldn't put it past him to just act kind of nervous around femshep some afterwards which would probably be enough to tip off observant people like Kasumi or else people who know them really well like Tali. Not to mention Kelly the shrink and the fact that Joker probably has some fun looking at surveillance vids. And then you got Zaeed with his vids as well. I can understand how word got around fast.

Well it is a Cerberus vessel, you can't expect things to stay secret. I would't be suprised if Mordin came by Garrus calibration chamber and left some usefull material there. The good Doctor Solus have a tendency to do and say what he feels like.

See, this is why I want squad dialogue in ME3. At least in Dragon Age: Origins you could hear how your squadmates were trying to deal with your relationship, like how Leliana and Morrigan were fighting over the male PC, Zevran didn't care who knew he was trying to get into the PC's pants, and Alistair was asking the women for help. Tali and Garrus could basically have that conversation that Leliana and Alistair have.



Garrus: So... you're female, Tali. Right?

Tali: I am? When did that happen?

Well, Joker seems to be the most plausible source for pr0n, since you can actually catch him watching some, but it is true that he doesn't seem to be too fond of Garrus in general. Nah, can't imagine Garrus directly asking anybody except Mordin.

And why would Garrus think that Joker had turian on human porn anyway? Pure human porn is only going to be marginally helpful I would think.

Considering how buggy the PS3 version is, I wouldn't be surprised. But the only piece of Alistair/Zev banter that I know is bugged for sure on all versions of the game is the "Fereldan dogs" one that Alistair fans tend to frown upon.

The one I'm referring too is Alistair asking Zev how to woo, and Zev asking him if he has never wooed before. "You are woo-less, as it were?" And Alistair basically answers "ok, so this was a bad idea". There's also the one where Zev remarks that Alistair doesn't seem to have enough...erm...stamina and tells him to chew some roots to improve that, but that one is initiated by Zev, not by Alistair.

I'm sure Joker's porn collection is extensive and varied...I wouldn't put it past him. Posted Image

You get the chewing roots one on the PS3, but never the one where Alistair asks Zev for advice and also never the one where he asks Zev about his tattoos. Also, I don't know about this one with the dogs you are speaking of. I have never even heard of that one.

Say what you will about Alistair's character but the amount of context sensitive stuff in his romance is epic. I would kill for something like that in ME with Garrus.

Y'know...this might be a stretch...but maybe, just maybe, Garrus thought he had everything down pat and then, when the moment arrived, he was just nervous. As he is wont to be around Shepard and trying to make things go right. Just a thought. Sometimes, in the course of dissecting every little thing for hidden meanings, we end up butchering a character's, well, character. Let's not forget the kind of person Garrus is. ^^



Also: YES to squad banter and interactions. A refined DA:O system would be welcome, I think.

 But, but, dissection is fun!:P  And the amount of subtext with Garrus is just begging to be dissected.  If I had just gone with what was on the surface, I'd have been pretty dissatisfied with his romance.  On a cursory examination a lot of people still say stuff like "femshep and Garrus didn't really have sex" and "Garrus isn't really into femshep; it's renegade to push him."  It is odd that he specifically says he would do research and then later says he had intended to watch vids and then changed his mind.  I agree he did that because of nerves and I think he did mostly think he had things under control and got nervous at the last minute.  But I also think he really did also have some vids that he changed his mind about watching and I just think that is interesting is all.

Hey, I just finished the draft of my first fanfic. Septimus tells Shepard his side of the story. Canon is bent a little, but not so much that it can't be possible. No sex.

Heh, I'm not saying DON'T analyze...heck, that's how we figured out Garrus was on our squad AND a romance option before the game even released. :P All I'm saying is we should be careful to not butcher Garrus' character in the pursuit. Garrus is a man of his word...he DID research...it just ended up that his research yielded poor results (lol flux music). Would watching those vids really have helped him? Probably about as well as his research into romantic human music preferences. :P

I think he actually may like the flux music, but maybe that's just me. Or else he is going on what he saw in ME1 while they were actually in Flux. Mostly, it's just for lulz though. That's one reason I said I thought Garrus might be more goofy than I thought at first. I mean the things he plays on his visor were also put there for lulz by Bioware, but he still does actually listen to that stuff. So it was put there for a simple reason: to give fans lulz, but it still becomes a part of his character in the process and can therefore possibly cast some other stuff he has done in a different light. I think that's the case with the vids statement and all that. It's mostly just funny and endearing, but I think there can be depth in it too if you want there to be. I really do think he was falling back on what worked for turian women and apparently turians and humans actually have a heck of a lot in common, way more than other races in some ways. I mean he even falls back on compliments that he uses for turian women. Yes, for lulz and to make him endearing first and foremost, but it does actually happen in context with other stuff and I think it's fair to consider it that way.
