I dare anyone to find someone with a sexier voice than Brandon Keener. It is impossible, I tells ya.
Seriously, I thought for 6 years Stephen Russell's Garrett voice ("Thief" series) was sex incarnate, but then I heard Garrus and I threw Garrett out with the bathwater (voice-wise, anyway...sorry Stephen!)

edit: top.  I love this rifle!

To me it seems as well as if Garrus' voice is deeper in ME2 than it was in ME1.

Garrus in ME1

Garrus in ME2

J4N3, that really proves it...his voice in ME2 sounds like he took up smoking between the first and second games! XD

And holy crud, that Shepard in the second video scared me with her Renegade face. LOL

I think drell take the "chronic chain-smoker" award. Turian voices are silky smooth in comparison. I much prefer the balance in turian voices...just enough flanging to feel it in all the right places, not enough to make me want to cough out my lungs. :P

Yes, the drell voice is best characterized as "gravelly", IMHO. :D

Whereas Garrus's voice is best characterized as "the first thing you want to hear as soon as you wake up". ;)

I had a bit of thing for Michael Ironside's voice after playing Splinter Cell, especially when you had to juice him up with first aid - he'd go "ooooooh yeah"

Then hearing Brandon Keener, as Garrus saying "I had to get you mooooooving..." Posted Image ahhhhhh I was corrupted converted.

Why does everything I think and say immediately turn to smut? Gah.

Smoking? Nah, he's just doing the Batman Voice.
Only, you know. Coherently. >.>

Okay, no ones come back to me on this yet - Garrus's height? Anyone? Anyone?

Damn time zones!

I'm not quite sure, but I think I remember one of the book mentioning one turian being  6'4 or something. but that could be my weird brain.....

Do we know how tall FemShep is supposed to be?  As long as Garrus is taller than that + heels it's all good for me.  Posted Image

Mark Vanderloo (MaleShep model) is listed as 6ft so I think it's a moderately safe assumption to base MaleShep off of his stats, but I have no idea what to think for the ladies.

Wish I could tell you.  All I know is that, when he opens his mouth, liquid sex for the ears pours out and I'm practically hypnotized.  His voice is almost like a drug...and that's why no one could ever voice Garrus but Brandon Keener...and if they go through with the ME movie being about Shepard...BK NEEDS to voice Garrus.  Seriously.

Ok I've fallen in love with this phrase immediately lool.
And I have to agree I don't know it might be different but as soon as he starts talking I just hear sexy, sexy deep ,sexy high, sexy low, sexy shout, sexy whisper.....its all just Sexy...

Edit: hot diggedy damn, just checked those links...............O.....o <3

Yeah I'm all for Brandon Keener too, but is the movie about Shepard though?

I like the Drell voice as well...my gutter mind imagines this in all different situations...mmmm....same for turians of course. But I take my further speculations to the NSFW-thread of Clan V....just..in case.

by the way....BK basically confirmed that he is the refund turian - Brandon wrote: "I'm pretty sure that's me" so we got that sorted out as well.

That was a really good catch, Jane; I never would have noticed, but once it was pointed out I totally heard the resemblance.

And don't hate on the drells!  I think Thane is equally sexy, actually...it'd be hard for me to choose between Garrus's and Thane's voices alone.  On a pure liquid sex meter they'd both be at a lvl 10 for me.  Also, I think Feron in LotSB is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal (the Prince of Persia!) and...gaaah...I love that man's voice.  Posted Image  Hell, I'd dry hump everyone's voice in ME!

Ha! WoT battle to the death! I like the way you guys think Posted Image

That being said, don't worry, Raga, you didn't step on toes, 's all good.

BK's voice is definitely one of the sexiest aural experiences out there. Although I still think Alan Rickman is just as good. I mean, he's the only reason I ever watched Harry Potter. Although I stopped both reading and watching after Prisoner of Azkaban, when I heard about what happened to Sirius Black...and how right I was, since Rowling apparently ended up killing off EVERY character I liked by the time the series ended (Sirius, Snape, Lupin, the Weasley twins). Well no, she kept one of the Weasley twins alive, but that's it.

Anyways, back on track. I wonder why BK didn't get credited for "additional voices" in the ME1 credits then, if he was really the refund turian. Odd. His voice definitely sounds deeper in ME2 though. Guess it was fitting with his badass overhaul.

My description of Thane's voice is that it sounds like he's been gargling cement every morning for the past ten years. I really do find myself wanting to clear my throat when he talks, every once in a while.

But yay on confirmation that Garrus isn't going to become a Spectre. It never quite sat right with me to make him one: makes the Saren comparison a tad too fitting, especially if you Renegade him.

I like the theory that Garrus was so focused on trying to make sure everything was perfect that he forgot he was still wearing his scanner.

That's what I thought happened too, until we got the info from the LotSB dossier. Now, it's kinda funny to think that he might actually have kept it on on purpose for all the heartbeat and breathing rate data. Posted Image

And while I remember, about that Fereldan dogs convo: basically, Zev mentions how Fereldans love their dogs and even sleep with them (just sleeping), and Alistair says that that's not true. Zev then says that this must have been a reference to Fereldan women then, and Alistair totally digs the joke. This is why Alistair fans don't like it. I guess it kinda mars his "pure and innocent" picture a bit. And it does sound a little inconsistent with his usual interaction with Zev, which is a mix of the borderline hostile and "riiiiight, I'm gonna go stand over there now". But then again, some of the RtO convos are downright OOC (*stares at Wynne*), so it's not that big a deal by comparison.

A while ago Brandon Keener asked on his facebook that if there were a female turian in Mass Effect 3, who would we want to voice her. So what do you guys think? Who makes a great female turian voice?

Okay, I had to hunt down this fabled Alistair/Zevran dog conversation!  They have a crapload of dialogues that I've never even heard of in-game, and those two are normally in my party...weird.

I have to correct myself, BK said: "If I were casting the voice of a female Turian, I'd go for Kathleen Turner. Let's hear your nominations."

and then a long list of comments followed. For everyone who's on facebook, it can be found here

Posted Image I agree on both of those. Although Gary Oldman also plays the tortured soul type very well *points at Dracula*. Same for his part in The Scarlet Letter. Although the director completely butchered the book and did a 180° on his character Posted Image There's also Ludwig van B., in that category : he was probably the only good thing in that film, apart from the music.

As for Robin Hood, I only have this to say:

Prince John (ie. Alan Rickman): You! My room, 15 minutes.
*pause*
Bring a friend.

Who should voice a female turian? Hmmm...that's a good question. I guess the real question is in what way their voices differ from the males? I guess Glenn Close could do a good job, as some high-ranking official or general. But the likelihood of that happening is very close to 0.

Well...yes, yes, it is. But if there was any more cement, I'd probably feel like having a lung transplant. Which, unfortunately, is probably the right impression to have Posted Image

Bugs, bugs, glorious buuuuuuugs! Seriously though, there are separate patches for restoring Alistair, Morrigan, Zevran and Leliana lines that got bugged. Dunno about the other characters, but people probably care about them less, since they're not LIs.

O_O  this thought never crossed my mind, but now it has...:D

For a Turian female, I can't think of a specific name, but someone whose soft spoken, no strong accents like the Quarians, (even though I'm sure that would sound nice, I like that its just them) erm, someone as soft spoken as emily blunt. Actually yeah I think she'd be good.

Before I read on here about the refund guy, I never would have heard Brandon Keener's voice, now I can't believe I didn't notice wow

With Thane, I went into the game thinking yes another sexy voice, and then when he started talking :( I don't find it sexy I want to. I dunno. I tried taking him and Garrus on missions together to get some "sexy voice time" but then he kept saying "embrace the sea" honestly  I could have cried.

They probably don't like it because the FemWarden (especially a human version) is getting indirectly insulted by that line by her potential boyfriends.

I really have to chime in in agreement on the voice.  ~shivers~

Okay, assorted catch up post.

I can't make up my mind about Thane on multiple levels and I will leave it at that. I do wish he was in his own game. I think I'd like him a whole lot more if I didn't always have to pick him or Garrus. He gets overshadowed a lot so I don't consider him as thoroughly as I might otherwise.

I think that dogs conversation with Alistair is hilarious. He has some other kinda ribald things he says too like when you start hitting on the duelist chick in the Pearl. I don't know how anybody could think he doesn't have a sorta filthy mind at times because he does, which just makes him all the funnier to me because then he likes to pretend he doesn't or else he gets all flustered about it.

I love Keener's voice. I have never been head over hills for a voice before now though I have heard some voices I thought were nice. Mostly they were obscure secondary characters in movies and I had no idea who the actor was. I have said before that I had rather Garrus die in canon than ever get a new VA. I am dead serious. I had wondered about refund turian before but I never mentioned it because I figured you guys knew already. I also think Keener voices a random person on Feros. One of the guys talking about leaving a package on the skyway. He says something like "we're leaving now. Package is secure." I could be making that up though as there is a lot of noise interference and the voice comes over the radio. Maybe it just kind of sounds like him. Main reason I noticed is because I had Garrus with me and he had said something just before. I have no idea who would be a good voice for a female turian.

I also don't think Garrus would want to be a Spectre. I think he has pretty much had it with official channels. That being said, he would make an awesome Spectre if he had such an inclination. I'm also not set on him leaving. I never meant it that way. I mean only that him leaving under certain circumstances wouldn't bother me that bad and I think there is a lot of storytelling potential in it. And as for dark and angsty stories and them being unpalatable, I think they often sound horrible until you actually play them, but then they awesome once you get through them if they are done well. Just think about ME2. Would you really trade stuff like the aircab conversation for anything? And yet that was brought about by some horribly angsty, dark crap involving betrayal and near death and scarring and murder and Garrus blaming himself and a lot of other melodramatic stuff. The next story doesn't have to be that way to make me happy. It's just that I think that is one plausible way to take his story that could have some awesome and intense moments in it. Okay, I'll stop kicking this dead horse now.
