I don't know whether to think that thing is cool or scary. But I am so scatterbrained, I don't really want to know what it might make a character do if I had it. They'd be a total spaz. Lol.

Probably a bad thing to own for people whose minds are regular residents in the gutter.

It IS the bandage. :P You can see the pattern and everything...if you can't, try looking at the full-size image. ;) And I think the "earring" is actually the cybernetic implants holding his face together...Does look a lot like jewelry from afar.

I stand corrected.  Guess I spent too much timing taking in the shirtless part of the picture:P I did realize the "earring" was his cybernetic implant though so I'm not totally hopeless.  Realizing it's his bandage makes the whole thing feel more vulnerable now and more emotionally naked.

Since the romances seem to be developing a sort of character arc for the love interests how do you guys think Garrus' will end?

I think initially weirded out.  But I think they grow on him in time.

As for the way the Garrus romance will end.  I want to meet Garrus folks, and I want there to be some ultimate resolution to all that paragoning and renegaging.  I know that is something that will happen regardless, but I hope a romanced Shep gets some extra dialog or something.  I want a fairly open but happy ending for Garrus.  Something suggests that they are definitely together, but doesn't really define the nitty gritty.  Having some kind of conversation with him that was basically "where do you want this to go" might be kind of nice to dictate the specifics of a text epilogue or something.  But lots of people want lots of different things so I don't want something uber specific forced on anybody.

I know this is kind of vague, but I don't have a specific thing that I think will happen or that I want to happen.  I want to be surprised and I think there are like four hundred great directions you could take his character in.  I trust Bioware to come up with something cool and fitting.  I do like the analogy you guys in Clan Z came up with though of "Padawan, Jedi, Master" being Garrus arc over the three games.  I really want to see Garrus as a full out equal for Shep in ME3.  I'm actually kind of fond of the idea of us turning to him for advice instead of the other way around in the last game, but I don't know how that could be made to work.  It would be a very awesome culmination if Bioware could figure something out though.

I do think his romance will become more pronounced and less obviously "friends with benefits" but I don't think his romance will ever be as separate from the friendship as it is with other LIs.  Garrus is simultaneously Shep's lover and her best friend so I expect his romance to mostly just add flavor to his already existing arc if that make sense.  I think that would be very appropriate.

I think it would be really sweet if Shepard said Garrus's line to back to him  "I'll always be here if you need me" or something like that, Garrus is always telling Shepard that he's there for her, telling him she feels the same way would be really wonderful and would put romantic emphasis on his saying.

Oh, gosh. I think Shepard saying that line to Garrus would be absolutely perfect.

Just had this scenario pop into my head:
"Garrus, I wanted to thank you."
"For what?"
"Being a part of my team. Helping me go after Saren, the Collectors, and the Reapers. I've learned a lot."
"Words are great, but what are you going to do about it, Shepard?"
"Well, I was thinking..."

Garrus needs to give an epic speech of epicness in ME3. You can't say he's matched Shepard as a leader without one. =)

I'm not sure why people asociate the "if you need me" line so much with Garrus. Don't Mordin and Kelly also say pretty much the same thing?

Yeah I agree. Some how with everything he's been through in ME1, Shepard's death and then Omega Garrus saying "I'll be here if you need me" holds so much more weight. It feels like he really would follow Shepard through hell and beyond if asked (at least to me).

It would be nice to see Garrus rally the troops in ME3 - sort of step up and give a motivational let's go kick some butt kind of speech. I think it would be pretty cool if it could be given to Shepard in private just before the big battle. Wouldn't have to be a LI kind of speech (though there could be some LI content after it). I think it would show how much he's grown up if he were giving Shepard a pep talk to get her up and going for the final push.

Just some overall thoughts on the romance options in the game.
I'm getting a little fed up with some of the hate stuff I've seen around in some of the threads, and some groups too  (as I've probably said before when things were ugly a while back with Tali) and the my LI is better than your LI bs that seems to go on between some fans.  To quote one of the most awful politicians in Australian History "I don't like it."

I think some of this has recently reared its ugly head because of the LotSB dossiers, and that's a shame, because really if anything, those dossiers made me love some of the characters I felt indifferent about, and the ones I already loved I now love even more.

If anything gives me respite from the hate and the haters is that I think Bioware did an amazing job, and have treated a lot of our favourite characters with great care.  It makes me feel comfortable that they will come up with endings for them that are as Raga said, cool and fitting.

On a personal note regarding my Sheps and their romance I have 2 femSheps, one that romances Garrus one Thane.  Each one of those I feel is tailored to that romance.  My Thane Shep is introspective, introverted and perfectly suited to the calmness of the much loved drell.  My Garrus Shep is a little ballsy, a little bit cheeky and is a great foil to the much loved turian.    My manShep I haven't made loyal to anyone as yet, but that may change.  I almost want to have a Shep for all the LI's in ME1 and ME2 just so I can see them evolve!!

Everyone has there own Shep, their own feelings on romance, their own favourite "ship" even if it's not canon.  It would be nice if people could respect that.

So have a Garrus Posted Image and share the Posted Image

I don't know which way to go. I think, if Garrus gets his own special stuff because he's the LI in question for the particular's gamer's Shep, then everyone else's Shep's LIs should get something similar. I mean, what if the LI in question has to rally the crowd. It would have to be a scenario, that every LI could pull off in a way that's possible. Otherwise it wouldn't make much sense gamewise at all. Or am I totally wrong here? If Shep romanced no one, Joker could do that. If Shep stayed faithful to the VS, they could come back and do it and of course be greeted with a more than stubborn and sceptical crew. And if it's Liara, well...this could bring Feron as her agent back into the game. Or Feron stays at the SB base and Liara comes back instead.

Mass Effect offers to the players different choices and this is the feature that I appreciate most. I would not move too far from the speech you are doing here, but also the choice of several LI depends on the user and it's a very personal choice.

Personally, I chose all the LI to discover new dialogues ("For Science!"), but my favorite remains Garrus romance.

In all honesty, I must admit that Jackob is a good friend for my FemShepard, but her feelings remain anchored in our beloved Garrus. Apart Garrus, I also really like Joker and I'd like to find him in the LI of ME3.

I have never played a femshep runthrough, never really got around to it. My favourite LI so far is deffiently Tali, she seems to really have true emotions for Shep. However, I think Garrus and Shepard in ME are probably the best of friends. I mean, Garrus is always back to help Shepard and they always seem to share a joke in the most unlikely situations. Take Mordin's Loyalty mission, if you take Garrus along he says "Hospitals aren't very fun to fight through." and Shepard says "whats is?" and then Garrus' listing all the places, I can just see my Shepard smileing under the helmet.

that would be Garrus classy

but Kasumi has some banter with Mordin on that mission as well xD

For my dudesheps Garrus and Jacob are bros. Favorite romance for maleshep so far is Tali. Favorite romance for FemShep are Kaidan and Garrus. Thane is second. Jacob....no thanks. Did it for the science. Just created a new Shep just for him. Guess they fit together perfectly. But other than that, I wish they would have written Jacob better. His lines really suck. Just doesn't add up.

Yeah, wasn't too keen on him in ME Galaxy but in ME2 I just found him so boring. That's the one! I love that moment. I always wonder how Garrus learnt these things. He's been doing quite a lot in the space of 2 years, even having shootouts in electronics shops (but only the classy ones of course). Garrus is deffinetly one Shepard's best mates.

Yeah I can see that happening. I belive Jacob could be a friend to most kind of people but I think they have some things in common. Also they both spends all day calibrating guns so they would have things to talk about. My maleSheps are looking forward to have a some fun with his bros Wrex, Garrus, Mordin and Jacob on the Citadell clubs after the defeat of the reapers.

Edit: Okay, Wrex is probably not the party type. But still one of Shepards few true friends.

True. Mordin's and Kelly's are more "if you need help with anything, just ask." Garrus' is more "We're in this together, man!"

Mordin's "I'll be here if you need me" moment comes after the conversation where he sings, IIRC. He says something like "Proud to be here, Shepard. Thank you for including me." and you know he actually means it.

You know that Mordin and Garrus mean it because of the enthusiasm that's in their voices. Garrus is the kind of guy who is there for his friend and for Mordin, at first he just likes the challenge but by the end I think he and Shepard have become good mates. And you can tell Wrex is Shepard's mate due to the huge and enthusiastic hand shake he gives him. Really liked that moment. It was kind of funny.

I think Wrex is defnitely a TRUE friend of Shep's. I mean, it's not only that he's REALLY happy to see him, but if you go speak to him about Grunt and he tells Grunt to speak to the Shaman, he has this comment for Shep that really makes one think.

So besides Garrus and Tali, I think Wrex is the only TRUE friend. The others are just getting there.

The thing that seals the potency of Garrus saying "I'll be here if you need me" for me is that he actually says that in the final romance scene if you reject him. He's crushed and he STILL has your back. He's such a trooper.

And I agree with Bug. I don't like some characters but there's no need for the hate. You can even be critical of a character without hating. And attacking people because they like a particular character is especially uncalled for.
