Suddenly I have an image of Thane and Garrus in a scarlet wallpapered Victorian style living room sitting in matching wingback chairs, sipping brandy and discussing their latest assignments a la Sherlock Holmes :-P
I so wish I could draw right now!

I, like many others I'm sure, noticed this in the Garrus/Shepard cuddle scene.

I don't think the fringes are that flexible. They probably have the similar movement to some of their faceplates - a little, but not much.
Interesting theory about Kuril. I must have missed something about Joram Talid though. Is he the anti-human politician from Thane's loyalty mission?Ragabul the Ontarah wrote...
I always thought it was kind of weird that Purgatory was run by the Blue Suns. To me that made the whole operation fishy like it was never supposed to be anything but a way to make money. Why would a former cop join a merc group to try to make a difference? I never got that. I'm reasonably suspicious that Kuril never even had noble intentions. I really think a lot of what he says is just hot air for the PR department. Maybe he has said it enough that he himself started believing it, but I always thought Kuril is pretty much the nastiest turian we have met so far except maybe Joram Talid. Even Saren has some redeeming qualities, but to me those two are mustache twirlers.
Saren's way of dealing with criminals is actually the opposite of Kuril. Kuril keeps them in prison and then sells them off to whoever pays the most for them. Saren would just kill them, like he says in Revelation, "Some Spectres arrest people. I don't."

Also - Kim did you see this:

Aricle posted it over in Clan V, but I thought - hey shouldn't we be discussing Saren's status here?

Yeah, but it's just someone roleplaying Saren. xD On that topic though, I think the "real" Saren is probably the same as Garrus about relationships, too busy with his work, has some fun every now and then but nothing serious. I got the feeling that his normal day-to-day life was just like it was in Revelation - spends most of his time on missions, hardly sleeps at all, no idea when he eats, etc. MainShep wouldn't have a problem with it, since she has family and friends like that so she grew up around that sort of mindset, but a lot of people might not be too happy about never getting to see him.

I can't imagine Saren being interested in having a family, unless it plays some role in him furthering himself within the turian heirachy.
I think it was just that he was anti-human and actually was bullying human shopkeepers in the wards for protection money using his krogan bodyguards, so not a nice person really.

Talid was an upcoming politician. And his anti-human outlooks were extreme.
On the other hand, Elias Kelham, the crime boss who hired Kolyat to kill Talid, wasn't much of an alien fan either if I look at some of the video footage from LotSB.

Yeah that poor turian he ran over. Made me happy I punched him every opportunity I was given in Thanes mission, Scumbag.
Yeah, I think the game of Good Cop/Bad Cop between Thane and Shepard is definitely one of the more memorable points of the game.
Even on Paragon playthroughs I give into temptation and play Bad Cop... D:

Actually, aren't there some Garrus fanarts with him wearing a monocle floating around somewhere?
Collider changed the group photo of Clan Z to a picture of Garrus wearing a monocle once. You can probably ask him to see if he still has it.

And yes, I say Talid is bad because he is a rampant racist and a thug though Elias Kelham is no better. They are both scumbags. I'm glad I left Talid alive. Kelham needs some competition. Maybe those idiots will be so busy with each other that they don't have time to mess with other people as much.
*Edit* Dang, I accidentally wrote "I'm not glad I left Tali alive." That's not what I meant at all! Poor Tali. Now I feel bad.

This has probably been brought up before, but due to their fringes, there is no way a turian could possible lay flat on his or her back comfortably. Their entire race either sleeps on their side or stomach.

I'd imagine they use a neck roll type of pillow if they want to sleep on their backs, or perhaps something like the props that some of the Chinese or Japanese ladies used to use to keep their lackered hairdos from getting mashed while they slept.

I've always kind of imagined Turian Beds to be in the style of http://futons.net/Pr...dfootstool.jpg' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'> papasan chairs.
You know. Like nests.

I think it could totally work. They both respect competence, and are both highly competent. The trick for me is that I don't see them becoming friends over some long heart-to-heart, but rather by going and doing stuff together and not talking. Missions, probably. With sniper rifles.Buggirl70 wrote...
I like the idea of a Garrus/Thane friendship, I think it's an unusual pairing but I think it would work (well my inner fangirl WANTS it to work).
I can see that Garrus respects his skill after all of his fanboyism during Thane's recruitment, but I'd say that the fact that he's an assassin (a precise merc, as Jacob put it) would be a bigger issue for Garrus than being a Cerberus agent. Besides turians are very big on personal responsibility and that's kind of at odds with the whole soul/body dichotomy in Thane's philosophy. Imagine if Sidonis had that view, he'd have said that the mercs used his body as a gun and thus he felt no guilt. I don't think Garrus would react kindly to that.
They are just polar opposites in many ways.

Being a nice guy, I think Garrus would follow Shep into hell without being asked.Hazzel42 wrote...
Yeah I agree. Some how with everything he's been through in ME1, Shepard's death and then Omega Garrus saying "I'll be here if you need me" holds so much more weight. It feels like he really would follow Shepard through hell and beyond if asked (at least to me).
