I have one MaleShep who would probably just give Garrus the bed if he wanted it. He'd sleep on the couch. It seems a little strange to him that he has such a fancy room and big bed, being a no-romance insomniac ex-gang member who grew up on the streets. That is, if Garrus can sleep when he's watching TV and studying mission stuff on his private terminal.

Yeah, the whole luxurious cabin thing always felt unprofessional to me, even though I enjoy it too.  My conception of Shepard would probably have a bed comfortable enough to get much need rest, but not so comfortable as to make one forget how serious the whole mission is.

Hmm. A sign outside Garrus' place says "Kima District 776." Is that is address?

Another sign on his building says "District B."

The whole SR2 makes me feel kind of guilty to be perfectly honest. I kinda feel the same way about it that Tali does. Once I give Cerberus the boot, I feel much better and feel like I can start enjoying it without feeling like I am being bought or something.

I guess it could be seen as unprofessional.  I see it more as Shepard's office that she sleeps in.

My thought on the big bed is that if I were going to die saving the galaxy, I damn well better have a comfy bed to sleep in before I go.

Yeah, it's really awkward.  I'd gladly shave some space off my room to give Garrus a proper bunk that he doesn't have to stow in a crate.

There was this old Chinese historical  anecdote about a king who lost his kingdom and spent the decade plotting his revenge sleeping on cordwood and eating bits of gall, just to make sure he didn't go soft and lose his resolve.  I don't see Shepard being quite that dramatic, but the SR2 cushiness is probably a bit suspicious.

My Shep is a total hardass so she wouldn't go for luxury either. I tend to think that she hardly ever goes up there. It's almost like Cerberus is trying to bribe you or something, at least that's how she feels about it. Granted I like the overall design of the SR2 more than the SR1. It's less claustrophobic for one thing which is good. Once Cerberus is out of the picture, the threat of bribe is removed and I feel better about it. I also tend to think of the SR2 as almost being like Shep's house. She was just stationed on the SR1. I really think she literally lives on the SR2 so that allows me to be a little more comfortable with the size and all. Some of the other crew literally live there as well. I mean think about like exiled Tali, Garrus, and even Grunt in his way. Or even Miranda once you have cut loose from Cerberus. Where else are those guys gonna go? The SR2 is almost more like the Millennium Falcon in that it really, truly is Shep's ship. The SR1 was never really "her" ship. It was just that the Alliance allowed her to use it.

It kind of seems mean that Shep has this amazing cabin and poor Garrus seems to have the option of the main battery or a sleeper pod. I can't imagine him bunking in the regular crew quarters some how. Samara, Kasumi, Grunt, Jack, Thane and Zaeed all seem to have much better options. Still not sure where Tali sleeps though.

I think the only confirmed members of Garrus's team were a Salarian and a Batarian and the rest were left up to speculation. Please correct me if my memory is faulty though.

There's 'Butler' and 'Monteague' which are human last names, and in his Shadow Broker video there were two turians with Garrus attacking the mercs, so there was at least one other turian apart from Sidonis in his team ('Melanis'?).

So to sum up, 2 humans,1 Salarian, 3 Turians (including Garrus), 1 Batarian leaving 6 members that are less clear?

We were discussing this in the Tali thread the other day.  I think she either just has a cot in engineering that she folds up somewhere or else she uses a sleeper pod.  And Garrus I think keeps his stuff stashed in that crate in the battery.  So maybe there is a cot or sleeping bag or something there in there or else he also just uses sleeper pods.  I agree that neither of them would sleep in crew quarters.  I don't think Tali would mind as she is really used to simple living on the Flotilla.  I think she'd be more guilted out about an elaborate cabin than Shepard is.  Garrus is someone who I don't think "needs" a big bed, but if his base is anything to go by, he might not pass it up if it was offered either.  I don't think it matters to him much.  He's too mission oriented and I expect the turians are pretty big on space conservation on their ships so he's used to it.  Heck, the SR1 was largely based on turian designs and it's pretty cramped.

I can't see Garrus using the sleeper pods. Those don't look too big and Garrus is a big guy.

Well, 'Weaver' is also a human last name, so I guess 3 humans.

Maybe he has a hammock stashed in that crate  The ultimate in space saving bedding.  And later on there's always Shepard's cabin - plenty of room in there for a big Turian.

"Sensat" sounds either batarian or salarian to me. "Grundan Krul" sounds VERY krogan. "Mierin" also sounds salarian to me.  Sounds like Maelan and Mordin and Telon and a bunch of names like that.

Fair point on the sleeper pods. I think the battery is a more likely place.

That sleeping turian kid is adorable. :) I like the way he was drawn - short fringe, small hips, legs spurs, and collar.

I absolutely love this image for some reason.  I wish I could draw.   By the by, I have NO idea if you would care in the slightest for that communal crackfic we are writing in Clan V right now, but if so I so think you should get abducted by Saren.  That or that kickass biotic turian kid you came up with a while back.

Lucky for Garrus, Shepard is considerate enough to keep the TV volume down low so the explosions and gunfire won't wake up his friend. He's such a nice guy. xD The image of my Shepard falling asleep at his desk would be pretty cute. (Just curious, how did you imagine him? I haven't posted any screenshots, and I think I've only described MainShep and trap-romanced MaleShep.)

The fic is funny to read, but not something I would join in on. MainShep is actually nothing like me in personality, and I wouldn't like a turian abduction. That's why I don't have any "personal" Shepards - it's completely outside the realm of possibility that I would get involved. Made-up characters are better for that sort of thing. Although, just the thought of Calix (turian kid) in that situation is hilarious. It would probably hurt the human's pride a little to be overpowered by him, since he's about 12 years old.

On the krogan, we don't have any confirmation that there was a krogan.  It's just that one of the names in LotSB looked vaguely krogan, but it could very well mean nothing.  I just think it'd be kind of cool if he had a krogan on his team is all.

I have trouble telling some of the name origins apart from others. I didn't even try to guess with a few of them, and it's impossible to know what species "Ripper" was. I'd like to think that he's an ex-merc or criminal though. It would be cool if Garrus had someone like that on his team.

Also, about Shepard's awesome room: a lot of my Shepards like it. MainShep felt right at home with all of that cool stuff. All she needs now is the golden Saren statue. The MaleShep I mentioned just wouldn't know what to do with half of that stuff, if that makes sense. What would someone who can't sleep much and thinks relationships are too much of a distraction do with a bed that size? What would a guy who's not used to high-maintenace pets do with fish that die if they're not fed after every mission? He's not used to having a lot of personal possessions, but he really appreciates the thought, and he likes his private bedroom and bathroom, comfortable couch, personal computer, and music system. But most of all, he appreciates being resurrected and given a ship like that. Yeah, TIM totally bought his loyalty, at least for now. There aren't many people he trusts completely, and sometimes the set up just feels a little too good to be true for a guy like him. For the opposite viewpoint, my Spacers are happy returning to the lifestyle they're used to.

I didn't have a specific image for dudeshep. More like, I just liked the image of dudeshep chilling on the couch watching TV while he lets Garrus have the bed. Or a chill femshep. It's a just a cool image.

And as for that fic, mostly I was just thinking what you just said with how funny that turian kid could be. We were all making up turians and I thought of him and thought he'd be a darn funny addition.

I felt morbid counting the bodies in Garrus' apt- interesting to know I wasn't the only one who found nine rather than ten. I looked all over too. I was all happy about his bed but sad about the two bodies there (on the left in picture below). Poor man.

Ripper... the Reaper?

What if 'Weaver' is not a last name at all but a nickname? They kinda sound like a superhero couple... Ripper and Weaver. :wizard:

Whenever I go visit him in there, it makes me think of those old WWII photos of guys crashing in the space between the torpedo tubes on sumbarines.

That MaleShep's my favorite. He definitely has the most interesting relationships with the crew (and everyone else). Too bad he won't get to say much to Garrus in-game, but the "I learned from the best" line in his loyalty mission is perfect. Most of the lines are, actually. The Renegade conversation after his loyalty mission could have been better though.

Maybe Calix is lucky that the fangirls won't go crazy squee-ing about him, hugging him, and trying to touch his fringe (which is unique and long for his age because he's awesome). I can see him saying "Hands off, my girlfriend will get jealous." xD

Garrus has body bags right next to his bed? D: Poor guy.

Ripper and Weaver as a superhero duo could be cool. Ripper would have to be a Renegade hero though. I doubt he got that name by being Paragon.

Thanks for the video links, Jane! They're awesome. Poor turian... he just went flying. Glad my MainShep beat up Kelham.

Haven't caught up on the 10+ pages I've missed, but I just ran across this video that shows what happens with Garrus in ME1 and ME2 if you stick with mostly neutral options in your playthrough.  Didn't know if this was shared before, but since it's Garrus dialogue I'd never heard (however brief) I thought I'd post.

Apparently C-Sec asks for him to come back post-Normandy destruction, but he turns them down?  Interesting.
