Thane does a headshot, Garrus says "Nice shooting!" and Thane says "Thank you."
I know at least three people have had this happen, as well as myself.

That's the first time I hear of squaddies responding to each other in battle
Then again, I might just be too busy to listen during fights.

I still say the kills weren't accidental. I also don't think Garrus is cruel in the sense that he plans elaborate Punisher style schemes before the fact. He certainly doesn't seem to approve of the beating of those prisoners on Purgatory even though it looks like most of the people there are rotten through and through. He even refers to them as "maniacs." That being said, Garrus is hard and there is no escaping that. He will beat the crap out a guy if he thinks they deserve it, doubly so if he's angry. This is why I say those deaths are not accidental. It's possible he chose them specifically because they were painful, and I have no doubt he chose them because they were poetic. I still don't think they were drawn out and ritualized. And none of this harms his character in my eyes. Like I said 90% when Garrus calls someone a scumbag, they actually are a scumbag.
Out of curiosity, what do you guys do with Garrus on your "canon" playthroughs? My canon is to renegade him in ME1 and to paragon him in ME2. Though actually I don't pick just paragon or renegade dialog options in either case. It ends up being about half and half.
Also, I love concussive blast. It does indeed knock people off their feet. Sometimes without killing them. And it works great on husks and in conjunction with Tali's drone. I never really even bother giving points in overload. And he does compliment other people for headshots including Shepard. Though, I have noticed he will compliment himself as well.
And that nails comic is really funny.

Well, I'm pretty much a boyscout, so double Paragon.

Overload is pretty much the first thing I level on Garrus. He ends up with Heavy Overload, Turian Renegade, 3 points in AP Ammo and 2 points in Concussive Shot. That makes him into a geth milkshake machine: the Troopers and Rocket Launchers get one-shotted by Heavy Overload. Couple that with Kasumi (also with Heavy Overload), and you're basically the geth's worst nightmare.
And yes, he does compliment himself for headshots as well. "Impressive!" when he means himself sounds so incredibly cocky
@ kglaser: I agree, I'm not a big fan of that shirt design...

And thanks for the heads-up about the t-shirt. I really hope they fix the Garrus design and have it come in women's sizes. Otherwise I fear it's going to be another night shirt for me :-)

But it would be fantastic to have a fitted Garrus shirt...BW are you paying attention? I would buy more than one if more than one design were available....

Also, I lent my voice in that thread. I do hope they go back to the drawing board for the Garrus shirt. I'll buy it, regardless, just because it's Garrus (and we need more Garrus merch...still waiting on a chibi Garrus plushy :3), but I won't wear their currently proposed design.

It would be fitting that the seeds were sown between them while taking down a criminal like Saleon. XD

It would bring me such juvenile delight to have killed 50 people, destroyed several mechs and demolished a building. Then hearing Garrus (or whatever love interest) say "Heh..that was the best date i've ever been on!"

My Shepard did not mentor Garrus so much as just agree with him. In that context I hope they don't radically change Garrus if he went the renegade path both times.
Hopefully they will do shades of grey with his character rather than taking him to one extreme or the other in ME3. I do want to see some effects though.
