I cannot decide in this poll, so y'all will have to vote for me: http://social.biowar...33/polls/11258/
Carth v Kaidan v Alistair v Zevran v Garrus? I can't.
For me, it's: Carth v Kaidan v Thane v Garrus D:
But in the end, I chose the one who was likely to be getting the least amount of love.

Along these lines, I wonder if your LI will be able to move into your quarters by the time ME3 rolls around - instead of calling them up they'll always be located there, and little touches like Garrus's armor/rifle and clothes would be a constant feature. And maybe his and hers necessities in the bathroom? That bathroom needs some decoration.
They already have the animation for him down. They just need to add the Garrus stuffs here and there.
ETA: if he's anything like my BFs, I expect to see at least one pair of turian drawers strewn about.

Garrus is the guy who made his bed up neat and tidy even while he was trapped in that base on Omega. I dunno how he'd be about the strewing of drawers. Maybe after a few drinks...goofygoff wrote...

Hmm...good point. Perhaps in a moment of passion, Shep carelessly tossed them aside and they were forgotten on a lamp shade or something.

G: Shepard, what the hell is that?
S: It's a hamster. It's from Earth.
G: What does it DO?
S: Uh... eats? Sleeps? Looks cute?
G: Is it edible?
S: Garrus, you eat my hamster and you're bunking with Zaeed.

(spoilers?) I really liked how in LoTSB (in liara's apartment) Tela Vasir was in a single place, but she looked like she was shuffling through papers for clues. I don't know, I just liked how she wasn't just standing there staring at you. x)
Garrus moving a little would be cool, like his arms and stuff, bending over, etc, etc, instead of being stagnant looking at his console. (and everyone else too)
on the more recent discussion;
I wish Garrus was in your room, why should i have to call him up? lol. he should always be up there for shepard.

It's quite surprising how little Garrus actually owns. I mean, this is me personally, I would deffinetly collect a trophy to show what I had accomplished, I am something of a trophy collector, even though I have very few. I think Garrus' only possession that he needs, though, is his sniper rifle. It's all he needs really.
He probably had some possessions, but they got left behind on Omega. I doubt Shepard & Co were thinking of going through his stuff to bring fresh boxers and his favourite teddy bear along when he was turning into a blue puddle on the floor.

I kind of like the fact that Shepard have a booty call button in his/her office.Pedpickle wrote...

He might as well move in 'cause that button is getting worn out. The relationship is not much of a secret on the ship the way I mash that sucker every time I can

I think all Shepards have a military history where they've lost people. Sole Survivor, Ruthless, and even War Heros might not have got their "no one left behind" achievement. Of course, they don't have to care about it... but Garrus is definitely not alone there. Even the very best can be overpowered or need to make sacrifices. There are probably very few (if any) battles that were won with no deaths. It would have been a good talk to have with Garrus, like the one Shepard has with Kaidan/Ashley after Virmire.
If Garrus does move into Shepard's room in ME3, I doubt they would leave a lot of personal stuff hanging around. There was a suggestion somewhere on this thread that Garrus could have his sniper rifle leaned against the wall, and I think that would be perfect for him.

Garrus should take up residence in Shep's quarters. The only booty call button Shep should need is the one on Garr--*is shot*
Actually, I could see it still getting use if, say, Garrus and the other squad/crew actually moved about the ship on their own "schedules." Garrus doesn't happen to be in the shower when you come back? BOOTY CALL BUTTON. Garrus isn't in his proper place *cough*bed*cough* ? BOOTY CALL BUTTON. Garrus is over in the armory getting the wrong rifle polished? BOOTY CALL BUTTON. (Yus, I so went there. XD *is shot again, repeatedly, with incendiary ammo*)
Yes, it could definitely remain in ME3.
Also, random thought for the day:
I think the reason Garrus' "calibrations" has become the embodiment of the regretable lack of dialogue amongst all squadmates, is because people (1)had a tendency to recruit him early and thus there is a huge gap until after his loyalty mission pops up...which is, what, the fifth or sixth in? And, (2)people just wanted to talk to Garrus, dammit, because he's GARRUS. Wit, humor, general badassery...and he's

I've also found that rushing to finish his loyalty mission as early as possible like I did on my first playthrough, leaving three recruits and one loyalty that I could have done before his loyalty mission until after, makes his "romance talk finished" conversation repeat a lot.Eradyn wrote...

Wait, a lot of people like Garrus? Why would anyone think that?
Kim Shepard wrote...
I think it would make sense if Garrus
didn't move into Shepard's room, in the way that he's always there,
because he still has a day job. So it seems like it would work best to
have one or two personal things in Shepard's room like a sniper rifle,
but still have that button to call him away from work. Good thing there
won't be any negative effects on the ship's weapons because Shepard
keeps distracting him... right? xD
I dunno...poor guy needs a proper bunk. There's no way he could comfortably squeeze into those tiny sleeper pods.
Also, I think Edi should pick up the slack to make up for any...distractions. Yes. Surely she could do that. :3

Random question for everyone who romanced Garrus, which would be all or most of us - did you guys go for the romance as quickly as possible like I did on my first playthrough, wait until after you recruited everyone (except Legion) and finished all the loyalty missions before his, or try both ways on different playthroughs? I remember reading here quite some time ago that it was also possible to bring up stress relief again in the next conversation after the "reach and flexibility" talk to make the romance seem more drawn out.
When I replay my Garrus romance playthrough, I'll wait until after the recruits and all loyalty missions before his are finished. Waiting that long to play Miranda's loyalty mission messed up her conflict with Jack, and the possibility for me to bring Garrus and Thane to the final battle (for Shepard to catch Garrus and Garrus to catch Shepard) with no one left behind (because unloyal Miranda died holding the line). Not sure if I'll try the conversation break between "reach and flexibility" and "stress relief" though. It could make sense for my Shepard to leave awkwardly when Garrus starts talking about a girl from the past.
I didn't mean that Garrus shouldn't sleep in Shepard's room, just that it would be strange if he was in there all the time instead of working. Of course he would spend the night there, but Mass Effect doesn't really show the passing of time the way a game like Oblivion would. We would know that he sleeps there, but we wouldn't get to see it - that's what I meant.Eradyn wrote...

Well, BioWare must have known before ME2 - they gave Garrus a romance because they knew the fans wanted it.

I have confessed this before I'm sure, but my first Shep (from ME1) never had a romance, I started playing ME after being hooked on Oblivion and was, meh space, who cares about space. I played the game twice when it first came out and I have no idea how but managed to avoid the romances completely. My Shep went into ME2 oblivous to romance, or that there was even a romance. Ha virgin Shep!
Then I started ME2 with virgin Shep. Pretty much right from the start she was coming on to Jacob and I was "Wait...what? What's going on? I don't understand." I'm not one for spoilers so I just kept playing, and the talk between virgin Shep and Jacob was getting to I point where I said "When's he going to put out?" But I didn't know you had to wait till the Suicide Mission then all was revealed. So yes, Jacob popped my Bioware Cherry so to speak.
Then I found out you could romance aliens! I wanted Garrus, but decided to go back to ME1 and create a whole new Shep for him (who in this version romanced Kaidan). I couldn't hold off the romance in ME2 though, I pounced on him as soon as his LM was complete.
