I heard somewhere that Casey Hudson or
someone stated that ME3 was going to be less dark than ME2. Don't know how that's possible considering the approaching Reap-ocalypse, but that's what I heard.
I would think that the success of the final battle hinges less on Shepard's ME3 decisions and more on the big ones that span the entire series, like recruiting the rachni, the re-programmed geth, and the krogan (if you didn't kill Wrex) as allies. However, all of these decisions being intrinsic to your squad or Shepard surviving is a bit unfair to players who made certain choices based upon the singular game, and not on the "what ifs" of the future installments.
Imagine if the well-being of your squad came down to whether or not you were nice to Conrad Verner? We'd ALL be screwed!
[edit] P.S. New
lady-sized t-shirts in the Bioware store but, alas, no Garrus yet!
