I never got to play Bring Down the Sky Kim. Bummer that I wasn't as into ME then as I am now. If Xbox live re-released it I would buy it in a heartbeat.

And kg - yeah I am so addicted to this place. My partner keeps saying "off to chat with your webgnome friends again about aliens?" Ha he can talk he's addicted to EVE!

Here have a Saren for top of page goodness. By Bluelagoon4 at da

REALLY? OMG, it never came up as a DLC option when I last played ME1 and I looked for it.  Do you know if its available in OZ?

It should be. If you can't find it on the marketplace you can always use xbox.com.

My MainShep hates batarians, and MaleShep's second NG+ needs something extra to make me want to replay. If BioWare released a version of ME2 with DLC included, I'd buy that too. (Are you reading this, BioWare?)

When spoilers about ME3 start to happen, I suggest we make a thread for it in Clan V. I definitely want to read all the spoilers, mainly everything related to turians and Cerberus. I want to see all of the Garrus romance videos before I actually have the game in my hands. xD

And chibi Saren is cute. :D That expression on his face is adorable - it's like he's been listening to MainShep talk. "This human is a strange one."

I spoiled myself on the Garrus romance, so I did speed play to unlock it as fast as possible. Part of me regrets the spoiler, but then finding out online was it's own unique kind of fun so I am glad for that at least. I used to always get spoilers and not care. Now I sorta wish to avoid them but I have no self control. Oh well. We'll see what happens when ME3 rolls around.

As for when Garrus became my favorite.  Well, it was when I found out he was romanceable.  I liked him okay in ME1, but overall I thought ME1 was Bioware's weakest game.  There were lots of things that sparked my interest a little (turians) but Bioware never went far enough with them so I didn't think about it much.  Then once they got into the nitty gritty, my idle interest exploded and I became obsessed.

I think a definite spoiler thread would be a good idea Kim, like we did with LotSB and when Retribution came out. I managed to avoid them both successfully. Anything in the main forum though may be hard to avoid.

Now I'm just going to rush off to check my xbox for that DLC... Thanks SandKing, oh and I like your sig, ahhh just started playing Reach last week...

Yeah, it's nice that they did give options. It's just that they guessed the playerbase's preferences all wrong!

I think that's unfair to say.  They got it all wrong with Jacob's romance, maybe, but I think they were banking on him being the preferred LI for the "newbie" ME gamers who were scared off by the aliens (and thus made him this casanova character with horrid lines).
DA:O is an entirely different beast, and most women who play it wouldn't say they got anything wrong with Alistair.  Posted Image  And besides, I'd love Garrus whether he were a turian or human - the fact that they made him a LI at all goes to show how they don't underestimate their fans.

Ref. Garrus in your quarters - Lets hope they fix the pose they stick Garrus in when he's sitting on the couch - it looks entirely too feminine, and very uncomfortable considering his leg spurs.  Thane can pull it off because he's lanky like that, but it just looks odd for Garrus to be crossing his legs.

Now that I've dug myself so deep into ME2 I'm worried I'm going to give in to spoilers for ME3. I love being surprised by games/movies. But how can I resist with so many awesome characters around?

I have the same problem Bug.  I am really addicted to this forum.  It'll be painful to restrict access to it so as to avoid ME3 spoilers.  On the one hand, I tell myself I can handle it.  On the other, I regard my surprise at Garrus being an LI as literally one of my great gaming moments of all time, and if I had come here, it wouldn't have happened.  What to do? :pinched:

We need to form a support group.  I've already arranged for real-life friends to physically assault me if I should give in to temptation.  I was 100% spoiled on ME2 by looking up the romance footage as it was leaked early on YouTube, and I want to leave some mystery to the final chapter.

I wasn't spoiled at all for DA:O and it happens to be the first and only game that ever made me cry.  I'd love a repeat performance of that emotional response to ME3 (just not in the "dear gawd, my LI just died!" sort of way...).

I hope Tootles that Bioware doesn't go overboard with the marketing that you can't actually escape the spoiler factor.

I may have to be physically restrained as well!! I'll just have to replay my favourite games leading up to the release...

And I still can't seem to get Bring Down the Sky up on Xbox live. I'll have to do some more ahhh... research.

...If they killed off Garrus, in an event beyond our control, I will rage so hard...then I will cry.  Yes.  I would really, really cry.  And probably sink into bitterness toward BW forever.  It would be horrible...actually, just thinking about it is too horrible. :crying:

It would be sad if Garrus had to be killed off. I'm used to my favorite characters getting killed off by now, but I still don't like to watch it. It's an annoying pattern though.

I don't think that'll happen to Garrus. Normally, it's not the good guys we have to worry about. (I still have to worry about TIM and Kai Leng, and hope for the best.) The character deaths in Mass Effect are nowhere near as many as Dragon Age.

I would actually cry, too.  Then come here and look at Bug's drawing to feel marginally better.  Then go to pitchforks-r-us.com.  Then to BioWare HQ. ;)

And Kim, Kai Leng strikes me as too tough to die that easily!

Also Kim, I hope you get to play Lair of the Shadow Broker. IMHO, it might be the best DLC ever...and it performed the miracle of making me like Liara more! :D

For whatever reason (self delusion?) I don't think that Bioware will include an unavoidable death in ME3.  ME2 and the entire SM seemed to be their big squadmate death trap, and what with the Virmire situation in ME1 it would get more than a bit stale to have a similar scenario in ME3.  Who really knows, though, since you're going against an entire fleet of Reapers...?  Not to mention that there's no word on a DLC-cure for poor Thane.  Posted Image

If anyone dies I'd prefer it to be Shepard, and even that I want to be entirely avoidable if you so choose.

Also, I really hope they don't make Shepard go after TIM.  I like him, just as I like Aria, and even though I know that both characters represent seedier aspects of the galaxy I think they're necessary evils - they provide some order to the chaos.  And I happen to believe TIM when he says he wasn't directly involved with the nastier projects you uncovered in ME1/2 (though this might be my self-delusion again).

It's quite possible that they'll kill Shepard off. And yeah no cure for Thane makes me a sad panda.

Oh God no. You've seen my talents, they're equivalent to a 3 yo's (actually I think most 3 yo would have more talent!) It's chibijaime's Shepard on da

Oh yeah! I just downloaded Bringing Down the Sky woot! Now to set me up with a new Shep!

I agree with you guys about Kai, TIM, and Aria. (Some of the lines from Shadow Broker just made me dislike Liara even more, unfortunately - and most of the time it isn't her fault, just stuff that my Shepards get stuck saying to her. Calling Saren "that turian bastard" is enough to make MainShep hate someone forever though.) I also think the deaths should be unavoidable, like in ME2 where everyone can die but no one has to die. That was perfect. I always want more choices, and Shepard getting to choose whose side he's/she's on is one of them. I would metagame every time if it means my favorites get to stay alive. But if Shepard dies, I would hate that even more. I didn't plan out all these Shepards and play through the game several times just to kill them off. I would always stop playing before the finale if that happened.

I hope I'll get to play all the DLC too. :) I want Zaeed, the Saren statue, and all that information about Garrus and his family in my game.

I don't think we have to worry about too many uber dark decisions in ME. That's more DA's thing. So no "choose to save your LI or the world" or "dying is the only way to get the good guy ending." I think at most we might see something like Virmire again, but I bet we would still get saddled with a choice so no single character MUST die. Dear god, a Garrus and Tali version of Virmire? I would die.

Yeah, I'm pretty optimistic about ME3 for Garrus. If there was a choice between him and Tali, it'd be a little hard to justify the MaleShep who romances Tali choosing Garrus instead of her, but it's possible. xD

I heard somewhere that Casey Hudson or someone stated that ME3 was going to be less dark than ME2.  Don't know how that's possible considering the approaching Reap-ocalypse, but that's what I heard.

I would think that the success of the final battle hinges less on Shepard's ME3 decisions and more on the big ones that span the entire series, like recruiting the rachni, the re-programmed geth, and the krogan (if you didn't kill Wrex) as allies.  However, all of these decisions being intrinsic to your squad or Shepard surviving is a bit unfair to players who made certain choices based upon the singular game, and not on the "what ifs" of the future installments.

Imagine if the well-being of your squad came down to whether or not you were nice to Conrad Verner?  We'd ALL be screwed!

[edit] P.S. New lady-sized t-shirts in the Bioware store but, alas, no Garrus yet!

I remember reading that too. I'm not that worried about Shepard and the squad. It's just that a lot of my favorite characters tend to be villains who get killed off. Luckily, Garrus is one of the good guys, even as a Renegade. I want them to have a happy "save the galaxy and live to talk about it" ending.

My Shepards aren't that mean to Conrad... all MainShep did was kick him in the quad after he forgot that she Paragoned him. xD
