The fact that scenes like the aircar convo on his LM and the subtlety of the gestures/body language in his romance scene are so brilliantly-executed only suffices to make the lack of dialogue in the rest of the game stick out like a sore talon.

I would say attraction is a start of a conventional romance, but attraction eventually fades into familiarity and comfort.  Why do you need to be "attracted" to somebody you are already with?  Attraction is about initial curiosity and trying to find chemistry.  Once chemistry is attained attraction becomes familiarity and comfort and something less well...tiring and driving.  Do you mean does he find her appealing on a physical level?  Either he does or it's a moot issue for him because he is willing to proceed based just on his admiration for Shepard's spirit and character.  I happen to think he does grow to find her physically appealing but it is something he cultivated because of his admiration for her character.  It didn't start in physical attraction as it does for most romances.

And this is why Garrus' romance is one of my favorites besides Thane, Tali, Jack, and Liara. Posted Image

Even though, my shepard can't romance him because she only views him as close friend that she will trust with her life(and she doesn't want to ruin it by doing something stupid. He has been hurt too much and betrayed that she doesn't want to add to it.)  Though, that won't stop my shepard from giving him a hug and bro-sisfist! Posted Image

Romance/love is definitely subjective. I think attraction is what separates friends (even very close ones) from lovers. But it is certainly not that way for everyone. Maybe that's why I don't like it as much.

I would like to have also seen more of Garrus as the seducer instead of the seducee. An extra scene after the Suicide Mission or something. That would have been epic!

It would have been cool too if we got to see predatory garrus or sarcastic/witty garrus respond to advances on femshep or in acknowledgement of their relationship.

Anything acknowledging their relationship would have been fantastic. Hell, even more acknowledgement of their *friendship* would have made me smile.

I vote for more Garrus' double-entrendres

XDDD I still crack up when I watch the Youtube vids: "You know me. I always love to savor the last shot before popping the heat sink."

LOL

Edit: Yes, I vote for more acknowledgement! Posted Image

Of course Garrus is attracted to Shepard. He's attracted to her character, her personality. He cares for her, for who she is, not necessarily what she looks like. "I won't pretend I have a fetish for humans." His attraction is based on the most important qualities...not how she looks (although I'm positive how she looks doesn't disgust him), but on who she is as a person.

If there was no attraction whatsoever, there would be no romance. Period.

Define what you mean by "attraction."  This means different things to different people.  To me atrraction is "initial curiosity and a desire to explore to see if a relationship is possible."  Eventually "affection" gets added  if the attraction is mutual and ongoing.  Later it becomes "devotion."  Shep and Garrus passed up the attraction part about a million years ago.  They just never formally explored it because they became friends before they became lovers.  There was also not "affection" because they weren't lovers.  They have already gotten to the devotion part.  The only thing they have to add in is the affection.

Bonafide XX. B)

Yes, Garrus needs a hug.  A nice, solid, warm embrace...at an appropriate time...just the two of them sharing a moment, perhaps before making the jump into a mission.

I'm sorry but I just got this image of this happening.

Garrus: *doing calibrations, hears a creak, looks back, sees nothing, gets back to work*

*footsteps*

Garrus: *looks back, sees nothing, goes back to work*

*creak*

Garrus: *seems irritated again that nothing is behind him* Get a grip, garrus. *goes back to work*

Female Shepard: SURPRISE HUG!!

*Garrus gets knocked down with Shepard holding him in a hug*

I just also want to add one incident I had.

Remember in ME1, where Garrus Thanks you for bringing him along? Well, what happened was that I was fast forwarding it when I made a boo-boo.

Garrus: Commander, I wanted to thank you.

Shepard: I don't have time for this.

Garrus: Oh okay. =(

Me: OMG *reloads* sorrysorrysorrysorrysorrysorrysorry!

You were giving Garrus good advice; cottage cheese has a lot of protein in it, and he could get sick from it. ;)

Cerberus is Cobra.
Their experements all fail.
And their so comically incompetant that it's hard to find them intimidating.

And I can still keep my LadyHawke banner, too! Win-win!

The beautiful thing about the Garrus romance, his recruitment and loyalty missions can be viewed as being loaded with lots of subtext ("If I wanted to do more than drop your shields I would have...", "Some women find scars attractive.", "This isn't you, either".).  Of course this is all viewed through the rose-colored lenses of a Garrus-shipper and thus don't count as "official" romance material, but they SO ARE.

ZOMG, there was one line right before we went into the final part of the warehouse looking for Harkin, he said it so sultry-like, I can't remember what it was but it was even smexier than his usual voice. I think he's trying to torture me and Meche both. D: I'm gonna go listen to the dialogue again after I put my kids to bed. I want to remember what he said exactly, and find out why the...inflection. Rawr.

And I just listened to that Tupari machine. Hilarious and skeevy XD you know that thing says like 14 different things??
