I love both comic Nightcrawler and movie Nightcrawler, but I like comic Nightcrawler better. And for reasons beyond just his looks. He's a swashbuckling, flirtatious guy who still trained to become a priest but didn't get all serious because of it. He watches Errol Flynn movies, sometimes fights with swords, and he can teleport. And he's a smartass in a bromance with Wolverine who I also like (as a character not so much because I think he is attractive.) In the comics Wolverine calls him "elf" all the time because he has pointy ears. I also love the name Kurt, and the accent doesn't hurt either. Yea, that might have come off a little obsessive. Nightcrawler is awesome.

I can NOT believe that no one has mentioned Lilihierax. Li's accent. Unique voice. Gossiping about local scandals. And he offers to make upgrades to the Mako...this doesn't appeal to anyone else?

Must be his grease monkey uniform.

Oh I forgot about Li! I love Li. He even acts all embarrassed when you ask him about his job. And he grins at you! He's great.

I wanted a couple with Nightcrawler & Storm. They are so cute together! ^_^

Too bad that in the film have not thought about a romance between them...

Hellboy! Love it. I agree with Ragabul, the moment I saw Thane I thought Abe. However, when Thane started to pray I then complelty fell in love with the character. I too am a fan of nightcrawler. I like the comic nightcrawler best but movie one is pretty good too. My turian handsome list in order of most to least: Garrus, Nihlus, Saren, turian bartender in Darkstar lounge, Assassin turian in ME1 (even though I hate him for trying to kill Tali), Turian mechanic in ME1 who's name I always forget. It's just one of those guy things, you know, when you can see that these people are attractive to women and you can admit they're handsome. Weird, huh?

The way you describe your interest in Thane is the exact same thing that happened to me. Looks like Abe Sapien+starts praying=insta-infatuation. Some other turians I think are cool is the guy at the Security Checkpoint on the Citadel (I actually based Otho's tatts off of this guy) and also the Blue Suns merc with the really wild blue tattoos that is sitting outside Jaroth's office on Garrus' RM. I also have a thing for skinny turians so any turian in tight civvies that is leaning on a wall or railing tends to get eyeballed.

And I wouldn't call that weird, Ashous. More like healthy.

If turians were real...actually, that would probably mean Reapers were real.  I'd probably be too busy building my Reaper-shelter.

Nah, we'll drag only the turians into our reality. Wouldn't want to invite disaster upon us (literally). Only thing we'd need to do is find them an appropriate foodsource. Alright, we can also bring in their planet. Or at least samples of their planet's fauna.

Also:ew. Abe Sapien. I'm not getting into that one. Invites the wrong discussion into the wrong thread.

Yeah, not sure how the egg discussion gave anybody the impression that "eggs are gross". Just like everybody else here, I wouldn't mind it if they confirmed that turians lay eggs. Just that, so far, that's not what it looks like to me.

Re: krogan. I stand by the fact that the term "pregnancy" wouldn't be applied to an oviparous species. It's not stated anywhere that they give birth to 1000 offspring in one go, just that they have a very high birth rate (meaning that the females simply produce a lot of babies, in one go or not). If it weren't for Okeer's choice of words ("clutch"), I wouldn't have hesitated to say that they gave live birth. But Raga gave a good reason for it: he could very well be referring to his tank-bred. Regardless, same as for turians, I wouldn't care if they turned out to be oviparous, but so far, what we've been given is inconclusive at best, and contradictory at worst.

Maybe Garrus more, since he's apparently a little gossip ("You have intentions with the lieutenant?" "No ma'am! And anyway, Scuttlebutt says he's sweet on someone else,").

That line doesn't refer to Garrus. "Scuttlebutt" is a common term used to mean "word is on the street" or "they say". Lilihierax actually says "scuttlebutt" when he mentions the rumours about Lorik. So no, Garrus isn't into gossip.

If turians were real? Yeah, count me in.

One thing though, about the alien romance discussion: sentient = can feel or perceive, sapient = has self-awareness and can act with judgment. Animals are sentient, but not sapient. Therefore, if you're arguing the case that turians aren't animals, you wanna be using the term "sapient".

But yeah, the overwhelming argument against the alien romances (from what I've seen)? "Dude, I'm not a furry." Slightly rarer, but there's also "Attraction would be impossible because you wouldn't have the same pheromones."

The furry argument can be overturned with one word ("sapience"), and the pheromone argument seems moot, since most of the women here find Garrus and other turians sexy even though they're a bunch of pixels (and therefore don't have pheromones). And of course, this is all based on appearance, so it's not taking into account Garrus' personality, which is probably the most attractive part of his romance.

As for what other ME species I find sexy? Quarians, drell, asari. Although yahg are clearly the ultimate intergalactic sex gods. (*EDI voice* That was a joke.) Specific characters I'd romance if they became available: Kal and Samara (but they'd have to actually make an effort to not cheapen her character).

From a fic writer's standpoint... I don't want to try to figure out the mechanics of a romance scene between an egg-laying species and a live-birth species. The tabs and slots would be a bit difficult to match up, for one. It's not that sapient egg-layers are gross (though in putting it that way, I start imagining the queen in Aliens), it's that I'm not a biologist and I'd prefer to keep it as close to what I'm used to as possible so I don't have to do a ton of research for a fic. Yes. I'm lazy. I'm also rather busy.

Would it change my view on turians? Nope. And definitely not on Garrus.

Referring to my post? "Sentient, sapient and consenting" are my three magic words to block out the major gross offenders "necrophilia, zoophilia and paedophilia", just in nicer words.

I think I need to clarify my policy on off-topic posts. It is understandable and inevitable that the discussion veers away from Garrus. However, this thread is foremost about Garrus. I allow for discussions to go off-topic because you get caught up in the discussion as it evolves into new terroritory, and you have possibly forgotten momentarily that this thread is supposed to be about Garrus. I do not want for discussions to wilfully continue being off-topic when you've been reminded that Garrus is your central subject here. This is the sign to begin reigning it back in.

This policy is admittedly strict, though I don't want people looking over their shoulder at every single post that failed to have the word "Garrus" in it thinking I'm going to lay down the banhammer. I simply worry. I worry when I start to see people mentioning they feel they've run out of things to discuss about a character or that everything's been discussed. I don't want that to translate into grasping onto any topic in the hopes of keeping the thread consistently active. New discussion about Garrus will come. New people wanting to discuss Garrus will come.

I think someone else also said "sentient" later on.

And heh, you basically have a more concise way of putting the same philosophy as me:

"If it's conscious, consenting and not an animal, feel free to do whatever you like."

EDIT: Aaaaand I just noticed that Pacifien posted before I did, so...

How would Garrus react to criticism of his romance with Shep within the ME-verse?

Depends on whose doing the criticizing.  I don't think he would care about random passersby.  I think he might worry about his family.  I mean nobody is "okay" about upsetting their family, at least not at first.  Even if their family is full of douchebags (and I don't think Garrus' family is) mostly you still want their acceptance and approval.  I think he might be concerned they might not really go for the idea or  else misinterpret it.  I think the main thing he would worry about however is how it might affect Shep's reputation.  If it was making it  harder for her to do her job because lot's of people started with this "she's forgotten she's human" rubbish, I think it might bother him.  If it got used as fuel to bash her or to ignore her by passing her off as a deviant I think it might bother him.

Sounds about right. But do you think it might actually cause a crisis, whereby he'd be saying "you'd be better off without me"?

He does seem the kind of guy who could do just that. But I guess he'd come around after a good whack from Shepard, like always.

I think he might say something like that, but I don't think he would push it. He'd probably be about like he was with "I know you can find something closer to home." If Shep insisted it meant nothing, I don't think he would insist on anything. It might still bother him though.
