Anyway...unless someone comes by with SOLID, actual evidence that turians ABSOLUTELY cannot lay eggs because of X or Y... Thing is, there ISN'T any reason against the possibility beyond "I just don't like the idea." BW has not hinted either way. Truth is, live-bearing or egg-bearing is equally possible at this point because there's NO evidence in support of either preference. None. Nada. And that's all it is, at this point, is a preference. When people argue against the possibility of egg-bearing because of...whatever flimsy reason, I will speak up, but I accept the possibility of either, or a hybrid method, being possible. But let's not discard options just because we don't like them, when there is no evidence yet to discard any idea.
Now...back to Garrus, please, and let a dead horse lie.
My point wasn't that it's harder to lay eggs or even that I don't like the idea. My point was simply that the drawbacks are approximately equal. Honestly I don't see it as being particularly relevant. It isn't as if Shepard can make babies with Garrus in the first place. However I'm usually interested in randomly speculating.
Edited to add: The bird that I had that died was a sickly bird. Very sweet-tempered, but wasn't ever all that energetic after she recovered from being sick. I'm still not sure why she laid an egg to start with considering she was caged (once she recovered) with just one other bird, who is also female, has never laid any eggs, and is still very much alive and healthy (and currently demanding my attention even though it's her bedtime). But for this particular kind of bird, at least, I've read that females used for breeding have an increasing likelihood of laying complications and so their average lifespan is considerably shorter than that of males when they're used for breeding (which I don't do). This may not be true of all birds so I likely made a false assumption before.
But yeah. Who else wants to see a game starring Garrus as the main character? Mass Effect: Archangel, anyone?
