So instead of cold feet in your bed you get hot and sweaty hands and feet? Hmmm.... This is worth thinking about.

If you're into that you can easily turn that negative into a positive im sure.

Garrus: Shepard! Are you feeling all right? Do I need to get you to Dr. Chakwas?

Shepard ~sleepily~: What? No... I'm fine. Just tired!

Garrus: But your feet are ice cold!

Shepard: Huhn?

If one is colder than the other, I'm sure they will find a way to...remedy that. I forsee no problems with either being the cooler body. :P

Garrus and Shepard are good at adapting to benefit from all kinds of situations so I think they will do fine.

What if the turian circulation is far "better" in the limbs than in  humans

Better circulation?  In any limb at all you say?  Hmmm, this has potential.....

They don't have any fur though, are rather slim built and not much fat under the skin so we can see those strong slender muscles... *Cough* Sorry, I got distracted. So easy to go gay for turians you know. Anyway, features like that are usualy a bad thing when you are in a cold enviroment on Earth. So yeah, I can imagine turians being colder than humans. Cold turian feet in your bed is perhaps one of the bad side effects of seducing them.

Tangent time!
What would a fat turian look like?

If turians are mostly meat eaters wouldn't that mean they could metabolize saturated fat better than us? No idea about sugar, however.

Yeah, different metabolism. Though, considering obesity is a product of culture, I wouldn't be surprised if fat turians existed. Unless, of course, there simply is no obesity problem in the ME universe because science has solved the problem of abundant food combined with the immobility caused by technological advancement. I'd actually bet my money on the science solution. They did eradicate cancer, after all.

nice Fia :-)

Are we sure that Turians are carnivorous? I know they have only pointy teeth, but that wouldn't preclude them from eating fruits and vegetables - especially if they have a gizzard to "chew" things with. Being omnivores would make more sense I think.

Def. carnivores, the universal predator physiology says it all: they've "invested" (in the evolutionary sense; a trade-off) a lot into speed, frontal vision and and solid claws for shredding. If they had a less... umm, mobile source of nourishment available than other animals, they'd probably look a bit different. No need to put so much resources into the "hunting tools". Typical omnivores are scavengers, eating the leftovers from predators, or they're built for the slower and smaller type of prey. They don't need to "invest" so much into the "tools" as true predators. Omnivorous birds have gizzards that can chop plant material, yeah, but they also have a beak to chop the plant material into smaller parts before swallowing, and turians have nothing to chop with, just tear. Whether they could actually digest soft fruits that could be swallowed whole, well, that's another matter entirely. It'd depend on their digestive fluids, but I don't dare to guess what those might be like!

And that comic is brilliant.

Umm, plenty of animals only have sweat glands in certain parts of their bodies and manage just fine without, for example, panting. Horses are a good example of this. Even if turians only sweated "between the plates", it'd easily be efficient enough for cooling.

Horses don't have the endurance that humans do, for this exact reason.

Hmm I'm not so sure. I do believe they would have a meat heavy diet, but I can't see why they would be exclusively carnivores. If you look at bears and dogs they quite happily eat things like berries and vegetables. They can move pretty fast, have sharp pointy teeth only and claws to rend things with. I'd assume their digestive tracts can handle those types of foods especially if they were cooked to make more nutrients available for digestion without requiring the extensive digestive system of a true herbivore.

Bears and wolves are a bit different, they also have molars that turians lack. They can chew their food, as well as chop. Wolves hunt by tiring their prey and don't rely on speed, whilst a turian's build resembles that of a cheetah (very slim and wiry); made for sudden and very fast pounces and not long chases. Bears aren't particularly fast, as they hunt with different techniques. Turian mouths have even less teeth than a cat's mouth and they're exclusively canines. It's not an omnivore's mouth, at least comparing to any Earth omnivore and the classic traits of omnivores, but pure and simple carnivore, if we look at the typical traits.

The bit about digestive fluids was a bit of a joke, as we obviously have no clue about that stuff... but the amount of nutrients technically available doesn't matter really, if you lack the enzymes to absorb the nutrients. They'll go right through, with more or less digestive problems. Humans, for example, can't digest cellulose no matter how well it's cooked because we lack the enzyme that breaks it down.

Mind, I'm thinking of the basic physiology of turians. They probably do eat all sort of unsuitable food, as could be expected of an advanced civilisation that has come far from its roots, and have medical cures for the problems these foods might cause.

I imagine that turian skin would feel warmer than humans, but the metallic plates would be closer to room temperature. Just a guess without any real science to back it up. That wouldn't work so well on Palaven though... Shepard would try to touch him and burn her hand.

The only fat alien I remember is a batarian from Redemption. I'm guessing there are a few of them, but making a new character model in the game just isn't worth it. As far as I can tell, Saren is the only one who really has a different character model. Even Shepard has the same body as every human female and asari. We know they can eat at least one thing that isn't meat though - donuts! xD

Eh, I kind of hope that there aren't any hardcore VS survivor fans that lurk on this thread. Cause quite honestly I'm not to stoked about a VS survivor DLC. Just leave that part for ME3. What I want is more ME story based DLC rather than fan service.

And on those DLCs I want them to actually add some freaking squad banter for once.

Same here, I don't like DLC that focuses on one character. I would prefer something that advances the main story more than anything.

That was kind of my problem with LotSB. It seemed a lot more like fanservice than anything else. Though it was really nicely written and I ended up liking Liara a bit more for it. I wanted the other squadmates to have some parts in it too, but they were pretty much like () the entire DLC.

Aww, come on, you think we're going to hide in the proverbial bushes and wait to attack? :P

Kidding aside, while I would love VS DLC, I'm not entirely convinced it will happen. Right now I'm thinking the VS scenario will be a long term thing...as in, no payoffs until the very end.

I get what you're saying, though. nobody's going to like the same characters, and with character-centric DLC, it seems like they're forcing you to buddy up with someone you may not have even liked or talked to much.

But going through all his files also gets you info you may not have wanted to see...like TIM's sex life..../shudder ../../../images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png

That
one really surprised me... the part about the asari (twice). But I
assume the Shadow Broker did have information on Saren, and was going to
add what Tali would have sent him to the collection.

Yeah, that was...unsettling. TIM has been referred to as a "silver fox" (I like older men but...not THAT much older), but you'd think the all-seeing leader of a human supremisict group would be able to abstain from asari. Plus Udina and Miss Al-Jilani...this is getting ridiculous. Stop trying to push asari on me and insisting how perfect they are, Bioware! I'd rather double team some krogan.

...Wait,
Liara's our new "director" now? I really hope not. I was worried about
Shepard being forced to leave Cerberus and go back to the
Alliance/Council, but I would actually prefer that to working for Liara.
D: Something new to worry about, I guess. I agree about some fanservice
being a really good thing though. There are some ways that it can go
horribly wrong, but Garrus' and Tali's romances were fanservice done
right.

Also, I didn't get around to watching the vids from LotSB
yet, so that would explain not knowing about Udina. (I did read about
the hotel though.)

If I'm reading the lines right (I
could be off), and if you pretty much tell TIM to F OFF at the end of
ME2... I think they might be gunnin' for a "solo" Shepard come ME3.

I'm
not saying Liara is going to be runnin' the show.  No no.  I'm saying
she's your info.  She's where you might get your next tip off, or at
least have the best and most info available to you.  Like Hackett and
TIM, she might be where you get your direction.  But I think we can all
agree that at this point, Shepard's really running the show with this
one (wo)man crusade on saying the galaxy from sexyscary voiced living machines.

I never got the impression she'd be running much of anything, aside from the obvious. Maybe she'd give me updates and tell me whose sorry ass needs saving and I'd have the option of looking into it or not. LotSB made me like Liara more--not that I ever hated her exactly--but I do not want to treat her like a boss.

I had actually assumed that if you destroyed the base, you would, or would have the option, to go back to the Alliance. Tried to be nice to the Council...no reason to burn bridges, even if they'll never help me. But there's not enough info either way, I suppose.

...Oh, and Garrus! To keep it relevant: drawanon.deviantart.com/art/Sparring-in-the-cargo-hold-181215051

I don't know about turian physiology, but I think things with him get hot and heavy enough XD

I agree with this. I like character-centered missions like the loyalty missions (and in a way, LotSB seems like Liara's loyalty mission), but Shepard's personality should be able to stay the same throughout both games and DLC. I don't like decisions or personality being forced on a character who is so different for each player. Helping a teammate with something important to the mission is perfectly understandable, even if Shepard doesn't like them, but forcing them to act like friends is not. It's not just because I don't like Liara - that should be the same for every character. I have Shepards who don't like the same characters that I like. My current MaleShep was all for killing Saren - my favorite character in the whole series - until the final battle, and used more Renegade persuades instead of my MainShep's Paragon. He'll also blow up the Collector base, even though I like TIM.

...Of course, if there were an option not to kill Saren, or an option not to kill TIM in ME3, I don't care how much I have to metagame to keep them alive. Garrus can die, and even though I'll never choose that option, it is there for those who want it.

I have a FemShep who would agree about krogan. xD Wrex, not Grunt. Grunt is more of a little brother to her.

I dont like how LOTSB forced a personality on Shep, just removed me from it and ruined immersion.

Also my main Femshep has Garrus so tough cookies to all those Asari out there.

Giggles... I don't understand your comment? All the Shepard have a bit of forced personality on them. Granted we can extrapolate greatly in how we take what they give us... but for the most part, that's how Shepard's been since day one.

I mean, hell, you only get brief summations of what each thought is, and it really (most of the time) has no correlation to what comes out of your mouth... but still gets the "general idea" across.

Hell, sometimes you get two options that will say the same thing. Period.

I really like it when they insert those tidbits of personality into Shepard. I had no probs with it.

It just occured to me how unlikely it is for Garrus to leave the Normandy in ME3. If he did, the only explanation would be...well...

Garrus: *Twitch*
Shepard: What is it?
Garrus: I have a sudden urge to fight crime! Take me to Illium and don't come back!
Shepard: Errrr...

And I dislike Asari too. They are not only the Mary Sues of the Galaxy, there are very few awesome ones. The only ones I can think of are ShadowBrokerLiara, Asari Matriarch Bartender and...well that's it.
