Jacob drank everything...dammit, I know it... :pinched:
And Timmy is a heavy drinker, so I resent his cheapness...bah..!
But can Garrus even drink the same thing as everyone else? I don't know if that's even been resolved for sure. We never came to a consensus on that.

edit: top.  AKA, TIM, pay for those drinks.  Or else.

I think Garrus might be one of those guys who are too cool to drink.
Considering how manipulative TIMmy is I wouldn't want him to buy me and Garrus drinks. Anyway I bet Aria gives Garrus and his friends free drinks in Afterlife after his cleanup job among her rivals. She is smart enough to stay on the Archangels good side.

That picture of Garrus on the photocopy machine looking thing is hilarious. xD The others do look like they're waiting for copies... and Kasumi looks very amused.

Anyway, I was replaying some ME2 battles just for fun, and finally got to see some awesome battle moments with Garrus and my Shepard. He came and stood right by Shepard when she was fighting Collectors, out of cover, and very low on shields. It was adorable, like he wanted to help take some of the fire away from her. (I almost thought he was one of the Collectors at first. A nice surprise to find that my favorite squadmate showed up when the battle got tough.) The other awesome moment happened when I made Shepard run across the battlefield and, like a fool, run straight into a Collector. She killed it with Warp at super-close range (the shields took the hit), and Garrus shouts "Scratch one!" :D He also said "Nice shot!" when Shepard shot one of them dead... after missing several times.

I also noticed something during a recent replay, which I didn't apparently pay attention to before. In the end battle, Garrus reasons that you shouldn't risk human lives to save the Council. Well, excuse me Mr Vakarian, but since when did you become the Terra Firma alien mascot? Got beef with the Council and wanna see them burn? That's fine, don't need to make up silly excuses about saving human lives!

Alternatively, if he's the squadmate the game chooses to voice for saving the council, the way he says "I hope you know what you're doing, human." is so sexy frigid.

The squadmatets different opinions about saving the Council are quite confusing considering that they always argue for both sides, A positive way to see it would be that your sqadmates are able to consider many alternatives.

But my impression of Garrus is that he is a typical turian in many ways, despite his impatience with the legal systems, so I think his sense of duty would choose saving the council as Joker confirmed that is was a doable option. On the other hand this was supposed to be a impossible choice for everyone so I suppose it's not hard to find arguments for Garrus to recomend not saving the council.

If i remember correctly, the six squadmates are on a scale of renegade to paragon. Liara being the most paragon, and Wrex being the most renegade.

The two most "neutral" characters were Garrus and Tali. However, bringing them both together will always result in Tali being paragon and Garrus being renegade.

Ergo, when Tali and Garrus are together, Garrus will always say to let the council burn.

By this logic we can assume that Garrus dislikes the council and would have probably let them die had it been his choice.

Double post is DOUBLED!

Yet, you have posted no picture to atone?  Steph...I am disappoint. :P

And I was very happy to hear a Garrus line I've never heard, when I brought him to Tuchanka.  Something about how using so much ammo on vermin (to shoot the pyjacks) may seem frivolous, but if you think about it, it proves they're ready to handle other adversaries as well (sorry for memory fail on exact line).  I didn't care what he said, anyway, as long as he kept talking.  (Yes it's true, I was concentrating more on The Voice than the content.  So shoot me!)

As a bonus, I got to hear Tali muse that Grunt's Rite of Passage was akin to a quarian pilgrimage.  Good night for fangrrl kglaser in this house anyway. :P

I would try and post a picture of my newest Shepard.  But she's on the Xbox, so it makes it a bit tougher.

For now... I will repost a goody:

Ahh so there's a system to it? I've always had different squadmates along, so I didn't notice that before.

It's still very weird argument from Garrus, to save human lives, IMO. I mean, I can totally see him say "Screw the Council, focus fire on Sovereign because that's what matters here", but chastise Shepard for risking human lives? Or is it some standard thing to say for all squddies? Ashley is about the only one I could imagine saying that.

God that picture is astounding. The detail makes it seem like your looking at the real (fake) person.

As for the whole Garrus caring about human lives topic. I think its entirely based on the fact that everyone is given the same basic lines of dialogue.

But for a reason that fits with the game. All the alien squad mates seem more or less sympathetic to humans. ME1 humans where seen as second class citizens after all. Garrus could just be commenting on how the council treats humans like crap, why should you waste human lives trying to save them?

I think the ubiquitous (i hope that's the right word) scripts are a better explanation though.

I believe that Garrus looks at it from the point of view of a human. At the end of the day, if it were the turians being treat like that then any turian wouldn't want to wast turian lives protecting a system that treats them like garbage and that is what I believe he thinks the humans should think too.

That is correct. It's a strange system. I'm glad they each have their own opinions in ME2 instead of "one must be Paragon and the other must be Renegade to argue your options."

The two most "neutral" characters were Garrus and Tali. However, bringing them both together will always result in Tali being paragon and Garrus being renegade.

You probably got it right about Tali and Garrus being the two most neutral squadmates too, because I've seen them switch between Paragon and Renegade. In a team of Garrus and Tali, Garrus was the one who spoke out against killing the rachni queen. Ironically, his reason was that a decision like this should be left to the Council. They do seem to have their own reasons here (as in, it seems like everyone has something different to say), but Paragon/Renegade still depends on who you bring along on the mission.

I remember that line. Did he suddenly decide to talk like Saren there? xD Not that I'm complaining.

Me too. I like Garrus with a top hat. Couldn't really see him wearing it in a fire fight. On the Normandy though and he'd be the envy of the crew for looking so sophisticated and a bit suave.

I never got that clip.  It sounds more like the turian councilor was assuming control of Garrus at that moment.

OT but the list from paragon to Renegade is this.

Kai

Liara

Tali

Ash

Garrus

Wrex

That's the order. Bring Kai and Liara with you, she will shoot Saren and say let the council die.

So Kaidan is more Paragon than Liara, and Garrus is more renegade than Wrex? Interesting.

No no no. It goes pure paragon to pure renagade. If Wrex is in your part, he will always shoot Saren and say let the council die. Unless your harden Kai, he will never say that or do it. It's a stupid system that was lame.

Ohhhh...wait what?
Glad they got rid of that.  I am having fun in ME2 substituting different squaddies in the same situations and hearing their varying comments.  Bringing Garrus to Tuchanka instead of Grunt, for example, accomplished nothing (at least in the way of dialogue--I was hoping he and Wrex would at least acknowledge each other, but oh well, hmph), but yielded a new comment from him about their defense systems.  I also got a new Tali comment there.  I love discovering those things. :)
