OT but the list from paragon to Renegade is this.

Really?
I could have sworn it was the way i stated it. Ash seems way more renegade then Garrus. In fact i remember hearing Kaiden argue for the destruction of the rachni when i took Liara once.

I think kaidan argue the destruction of the rachni if you turn him renegade (which makes seem one-dimensional). Ash, depending on your choices can be less renegade if you paragon her.

But I think Garrus is pretty renegade anyway, even to the beginning of ME2.

Well, yeah. He's willing to put you in danger so he can headshot some hoodlums when you first meet him in ME1.

But was he putting Shepard in danger? It seemed like Michel was the only one potentially in danger, to me

I vaguely remember Shepard chastising him, like s/he coulda been shot. Either that or s/he says something like they were glad to be a distraction.

It made the "you shot me" option when you recruit him ME2 that much more nostalgia-inducing.

so besides a "garrus shepard" have you all made other shepards for the other romances too?

Found a video, but now that you mention it...I think Shepard does yell at him for putting Dr. Michel in danger, not him/herself. The video picks the neutral option, though.

In any case, Garrus is a high risk guy - which is something characteristic of Renegade options in the series.

...notice that I said high risk, and not the other 'h' adverb.

I've only done Garrus, Thane, Tali and I'm finishing up the Miranda one eventually... I tried to get Samara (but she doesn't count since she always reject you anyways). The only romances I liked was Garrus', Thane's and the attempt on Samara.

And I never thought the "you shot me" option was nostalgia really...

I made a Thane Vanguard Shepard. I haven't finished it yet, because I find Vanguard hard and not as much fun as Infiltrator.

My main Shep is a Vanguard -- I have recently found out that it makes everything in ME2 easy mode even on Insanity. The key is being aggressive with Charging. Seriously, use it every time it's up. Especially in a boss fight. If you have the Firepower DLC, then be sure to pick up the assault rifle instead of the Krogan shotgun when you get to the "abandoned" Collector ship so that you'll be able to use the Mattock. It's handy for taking down shields and armor before you Charge.

I'm not really interested in the other LIs for FemShep except maybe Liara. I have yet to finish that ME1 playthrough, though.

I have a single maleShep that I use over and over to experience other classes and romance plots. I like all of the maleShep romance options but I must admit to being a total sucker for Tali. The bickering she and Garrus would do in ME1 in the elevators! To me, they are the most interesting characters. Or, at the very least, their...uh...race? Species? Whatever it is...is the most intriguing in the ME-verse.

As much as I'd like to make multiple shepards, I need to take a long break before I play through the first mass effect each time. Unlike ME2, the classes are not that different and it's a lot less action packed so I get bored more easily. I’m nearing the end of my first renegon shepard , I'm at virmire right now , so far I have romanced Kaiden. I have to decide whether or not to kill him off and be with thane, let him live and be loyal or be greedy and cheat.  Maybe this is my wicked way of reminding this veteran shepard that romancing a fellow soldier will just end in tragedy, I like drama. That's why I couldn't bring myself to make a spacer/war hero shepard like I planned to, it was just too pristine for me. I need some kind of grit in their personalities and back stories, that's why I like Garrus so much.

Anywho, I always wanted to get round to romancing Thane but intended to make my perfect paragon shepard for him. Now I think this shepard I'm playing would be more suitable, she wants revenge on cerberus (sole survivor) felt numb for a long time after akuze, solitary and needs emotional distance from the crew. I think she could relate better to Thane if she loses kaiden but at the same time not want to fall for him because he is about to die soon. She's sick of people dying around her at that point but I think Thane's philosophy will change her views on death and help her cope with it better. Plus I think romancing kaiden then "virmiring" him gives shepard her own "Irika" (spelling?) so it makes sense for her to have those personal chats with Thane and also makes the relationship more equal.

After typing this, kaiden's odds aren't looking so good ^_^.

Is it just me or does Garrus seem to get along particularly well with Thane? They're like Jacob and Miranda when you take them together with you. I really enjoy their comments; some of them are even complimentary of each other.

Garrus and Thane, my two fave maliens, I like taking them out with me, i don't think they are the bestest buddy's as they are each loners in some regard but i think they have respect for each others skills and I can see them bonding over tactics. I have a Shepard for each of them.

I agree. And they are also snipers.

Why do I like most guys with sniper rifles? (Zaeed is the exception, since he's a bit of an ****)

Garrus: It was so a headshot!

Thane: You hit him in the neck. It was a neck shot.

Garrus: The neck is implied!

Thane: If the neck was implied with the head, then it wouldnt be called the neck.

Garrus: Shepard, help me out here!

Shepard:...I should go.

Garrus: Besides, it was a salarian, the neck is a harder target then the head.

Thane: So you admit it was a neck shot.

Garrus: Damnit Thane!

Thane: To be a headshot, death has to be immediate. It was not. I remember the moment quite clearly. *drell eyes* Shot impact--green blood mists the air--coughing--chocking on his own blood---

Garrus: Alright already! It was a neckshot, just shut up!

Thane: I thought so.

This is what immediatly came to my mind.

edit: i added a few more lines because i can.

Haha, that cracked me up. XD

When the day comes that Garrus finally finishes his calibration and asks for a conversation, Shepard says "I should go."

Hmm... maybe I need to bring Thane along more often just to hear the banter. I usually bring Garrus for sniper/tech and then a complementing squaddie and not another sniper. It's a bit of a headshot overkill with my inflitrator Shepard who's also very much into headshots. But with another Shepard, gotta try it.

Small catch up post.

I have Shepards for Thane and Tali, and several one's for different incarnations of Garrus. One of those Shep's is a Kaidan cheater. Another is a Liara cheater. Thaneshep, Talishep, and oneGarrushep aren't cheaters though.

Also on paragon/renegade scale. Whenever I take Tali and Garrus to the council, Tali is always the one who advocates not saving the council, and this is always with renegade Garrus with me. It always surprises me as I thought she wasn't that renegade, but I've always had it happen with that combination of characters.

I have a Shepard for Garrus, a clone of that Shepard for Thane, and I have just created a Shep to go with Jacob (I seriously think it'll get better in ME3). I am also running my first ever KaidanShep through the game.

As for MaleSheps, I have a Jack!Shep, a Tali!Shep and an Ashley!Shep. I still have to romance Liara.

Tali advocating killing the council doesn't surprise me, really. Quarians were banished from the Citadel, after all. For Garrus, even if he had nothing against humans in any sense, it's still about killing plenty of his own people (crewmembers of Destiny Ascension, for example) and upsetting the galactic political status for his own people when he encourages Shepard to leave the council to die.

But yeah, it's clearly an odd system.

It was an odd system yes, but you have to admit it was clever.

You basically covered all your moral bases without having to leave viewpoints out if you brought two renegades or paragons.

I love the idea that these two could have banter such as this - I wrote a fic with them both trying to instruct Shepard in how to use a sniper rifle.  It was heavily laced with innuendo!

Yeah, it's clever from a dev PoV, less so from keeping the characters true to themselves. But I guess we all waffle at times... "Hmm, to kill or not to kill".
