I really have no idea what the format for ME3 will be. I know Hudson and some others are pretty keen about going on about how well reviewed ME2 was and how well that whole "anthology" style of storytelling went over. Still, I don't think they would use the exact formula again in ME3. It would be redundant. The most plausible thing to me does seem like some kind of "rallying the galaxy/looking for tech or answers to defeat the Reapers" plotline. That seems like it would lend itself well to that old school "collect 4 pieces of thus-and-such from four areas" thing that Bioware used to do so much. But if DA2 is indicative of anything it could be they are trying to move away from that style of storytelling altogether. One thing that will be cool though is that if they revert back to their older methods, it generally means most squaddies are recruited in the first half of the game if not the first few hours of the game. That could potentially mean way more context sensitive dialog if there is a much greater chance any given squaddie is with you from the beginning. I would love that. I like prison break scenes well enough. I also love stronghold quests. I have no idea how something like that could be put into ME3, but that would also be fun.

Hey just a fun little fact everybody, today I met someone with a Garrus hoodie, as featured on the first page! I tried to hold a conversation with her, but I think she was too focused on some quick studying for the test we were about to take :)

Hooray for Garrus!

Now I am going to be on the lookout for someone with a Garrus hoodie! I work near a college campus, albeit a small one...maybe I'll look over there...

I concur. I always want to pause the screen there. It's about the only moment were Garrus actually manages to successfully flirt without putting his foot in his mouth.

He's usually most successful at flirting when he doesn't actually speak, and we just get to see his bad self. ;)

I do hope they change the romance formula a bit for ME3. They should keep with that "night before the final battle" theme like they have done but there's no reason to skimp on the romance before that. What's funny is that I'm so focused on ME3 that I've barely read anything about DA2, playing that will be a big surprise for me. I do hope it gets awesome romances too so I have something new to keep me occupied before the ME3 release.

By the way, isn't garrus's posture when you meet him omega, the sexiest thing in the game or is it just me? Combined with the flirty tone of the conversation , good lord *fans face*. I was skeptical about the garrus romance while playing ME1, my opinion was very much "he's ok I suppose" and I didn't understand why people were going gaga over him...then I played ME2..."I don't mind it but please *cough* it's just garrus to you" squeeeeeeeeee!

Thats a really great drawing! I love that part of the romance. The way he says "yeah" is sexy.

I agree, but doesn't he say that and "If I wanted to take your shields down I would have done it" to male sheps too? I could be wrong about that but it would be awesome if it was just for femsheps.

All of you are correct. And his voice is WAY more sexier in ME2 than in ME1. If you don't believe me, compare them. It's much deeper and more languid in the second game. /faints

He does but it's the context. Just like how maleshep players interpret Tali's recruitment dialog as romantic "I wish shepard were here..." and Im a rabid shipper so anything garrus says is flirtation to me ^_^

As weird as it sounds, it DOES seem different, even though it isn't. I've played both genders, so I saw both scenarios.

I think it's like this. http://www.nku.edu/~...htContrasts.htm

Also I think that there's more of a double entendre when he speaks to femshep rather than maleshep.

"You nailed me good a couple of times by the way"

Being a male playing a male Shep, I never saw any of those initial lines as particularly dirty. But looking at it from Fem Shep's POV, it definitely appears that way. Bioware should have had different lines for male and female Shepards.

The great thing about Garrus' dialogue is that when said to M!Shep, it sounds like he's just jerking his chain, but when said to F!Shep, sounds totally flirty. <3

Yeah, your right. I squee so much when I hear him say that stuff....I wish he had more romance dialogue and just more dialogue in general. I really hope in ME3 we get to continue the relationship and hear him say "I love you" or something. I agree with you that BioWare should give the romances more depth. It's a good thing for me that he doesn't really start the relationship because then every playthrough I do I would only romance him. I could never turn him down. One of the only reasons I killed the council in ME1 was because he said we should let them die and save more lifes for the greater good.

I'm trying to resist him on my thane playthrough but I'm struggling ^_^ Thane is probably the only other LI to finally stop me romancing garrus every time, I tried kaiden..I really did but he ended up getting virmired for extra drama >_> I don't like mary sue types either so liara was a no...also because she's female and my shepard's don't care for the asari race much. I also just think garrus is supposed to be with shepard , it feels right for them to be together , platonically they work so it's not a stretch for them to work romantically. I would be super happy if ME3 had;

1. Garrus telling shepard in his own way that he loves her (so it doesn't have to be cliche)

2. More physical contact and affection

3. a tasteful and romantic romance scene that lets us see the top half of turian anatomy (I'm bloody curious!)

4. Shepard and garrus staying together after the galaxy is saved for many more adventures in space (spectre couple a possibility I hope)

I only have one playthrough of ME1 and ME2. I'm going to make many more though. My first playthrough romanced Kaiden but I kept him alive then cheated on him with Garrus in ME2. My next playthrough I'm going to romance LIara and then stick with her. Thane will be the second one I do and I'm keeping Jacob for dead last......I don't like him. I hate by just talking to Jacob you flirt with him. I really think Garrus and Shepard are made for each other too.

I agree, he should say it his way. There should definitely be more romance scenes and dialogue. I want it to build up kind of like during the Citadel lockdown in ME1 you almost kiss your LI, I want it to be like that except more scenes. Yeah, I don't want the scene to be all about sex like how I heard Jacob's and Miranda's were. I want it to be really romantic.

The way I want the ending to be is Shepard and Garrus staying together for the rest of their lives (I don't care how they stay together whether their married or spectres or they just keep kicking ***) but I want a scene showing some closure not text like Dragon Age.

Here's a picture of a turian:

I agree with this. Same lines, but implies something different for MaleShep and FemShep. I like the idea of a MaleShep joking around with Garrus about shooting him, and they do joke a lot. "That's a little extreme, commander." "Laugh it up, Garrus." Even in ME1, if Shepard tells that asari on Virmire to get out before he blows the place up, Garrus will say "you enjoyed that" after she runs away screaming. xD

I would approve of this in ME3, especially number 4. That's the ending I want for my Shepard who romances him.

Yep, I also agree on that 4 point list. Heck, I'll take anything Garrus-related...provided they somehow don't turn it into the same kind of romance as Jacob.

And yes, some of Garrus' lines definitely sound more suggestive to a FemShep. I know it's impossible, but I don't care! Posted Image

Also I think that there's more of a double on tundra when he speaks to femshep rather than maleshep.

Sorry, just had to pick up on this:

double entendre (entendre = "to hear, to understand" in French). Tundra = the climate/environment in Siberia.
