Heh heh, I never noticed that and I've played how many times? (Well, admittedly, I don't have that alternate appearances pack, but I've never seen the face in the ME1 armour).

That bothered me a lot too until I looked at it from Shepard's perspective. Garrus makes it pretty obvious early on that he's mainly focusing on the sex aspect, which I like to think is because he's still trying to even grasp the concept of a true relationship. She has to pick up on that and not force an issue Garrus is clearly not ready to discuss. The first "looks like you're carrying some tension" joke I can forgive, since it seems to be mostly a transitional line.

Besides, think about the brief times when Garrus does seriously test the waters of a relationship. Shepard responds very easily.

"I want a few moments just for us before the throw ourselves into Hell for the good of the galaxy."
"I want that too, Garrus."

"Look, Shepard. I know you can find something closer to home."
"I don't want something closer to home. I want you. I want someone I can trust."

That doesn't sound like sex-driven talk to me. Shepard speaks seriously only when Garrus invites her to; until then, she'll stay in his comfort zone.

Hm, yeah that makes sense. And I liked it when they had those lines it made me feel better. I just want them to both be in love in ME3. Hopefully Bioware doesn't give him one of those endings that you can get for some DA LIs. That they don't really have alot of closure and they don't stay together.

With Fem/Shep at least we know that at the conclusion of the romance (after collectors and then do the Shadowbroker DLC) that she DOES like or at the very least have very deep feelings for Garrus.
Again i say when Liara asks Shep if she's doing this for Garrus' sake, Shep responds that she'd like to give him a chance at happiness and that she'd never thought she'd find peace in the arms of a turian. i'm pretty sure that their relationship at this time is just testing the boundaries, so if Garrus does say the three magic words in ME3 it'll mean so much more.

I would love to hear him say it and yeah LotSB made me feel alot better. Now it'll be interesting seeing where this goes in ME3. I really want to hear some news for ME3 but I want them to take as long as they need to so it'll be great and hopefully have Garrus :).

The smiley faces in the armor are neat :). I've never noticed them.

Sorry for the double post but I need to ask this before I forget.

I was listening to some unused dialogue on youtube about a fight that was supposed to happen between Mordin and Grunt but was cut out of the game. Mordin at the end calls you "human" like in a disrespectful way if you don't pick him. Someone left in the comments that Garrus calls you "human" at the end of ME1 if he wants to save the council and you kill them anyways.

On my first playthrough he wanted me to kill the council while Kaiden wanted me to save them. I decided to kill the council (partly because of Garrus) and I never got the dialogue since he wanted me to kill them. Has anybody got this dialogue? I doubt that he would respond to Shepard like that so I think the person who left the comment was mistaken. I can't find a video so what to you guys think?

Not too sure where to get that specific dialog myself, but if you wanted to check if it was there, all you need to do is bring someone more Renegade than Garrus on the mission, either Grunt or Ashley, I believe...

Yeah, problem is I'm planning on saving the council this playthrough. I could reload a save and try something different but I don't want to transfer the renegade choice to ME2. I don't know when the choice is flaged to bring into ME2.

Fair point.

Personally, I'd suggest saving before hand, doing it, then after you've seen for yourself just restart the game and load back that past save.

I was not a fan of the character schizophrenia in ME1; how characters' flagged responses completely changed sides based on what other characters were present.  Garrus should have the same opinion on saving the council whether I have Wrex or Liara with me.  The only thing I could see changing the dialogue spoken by the followers would be Shepard's own influence during their conversations.

I'm glad they fixed that for ME2.  Hopefully we'll get more talk from the squaddies on missions for ME3.

Garrus is influenceing what I do again. Like I said before he was a major reason why I killed the council in my first playthrough of ME1. But now I'm on Feros on my second playthrough and at the part where you have to kill the Geth in the tower I was exploring the other way. I forgot where it leads and I was heading down the stairs and then Liara said something like "Shepard this is the wrong way, the tower is behind us". I ignored her and kept going and then when I reached the bottom of the stairs Garrus said "Shepard, I would follow you anywhere but this isn't the right way to the tower" so I immediately checked my map and headed to the tower :). Now I wonder if the game would really mess up if you go to the tunnels before you finish the tower?

I didn't like it either.

Yeah, I think they should pick a decision and stick with it. Even after the collector base everyone changes their opinion to the paragon one I think.

I really liked it when Garrus said things on missions but I was upset when other squadmates would say something instead of him :( . I hate how it's random who talks when. And there needs to be more conversations and characters talking to each other.

Yes, banters. I liked the ME1 system where they'd make a "mm" noise and you could turn round and select them and they'd have something to say about, well, the Relay monument or the council chambers or whatever. There are much fewer conversation points in ME2.

I also think the game would be much improved with Dragon Age-style banters at key points. Those interminable elevators were good for something!

At least we get the nice hospital comment from Garrus on Tuchanka. That's made me lol hard the first time I heard it.

I killed the council (wouldn't have done so if I'd known at the time that it was possible to let them live and not suffer any penalties to the final fight), and had Garrus and Tali on my team. Garrus advised against it, Tali said let 'em toast. And Garrus did indeed make the "human" remark. It made me very sad :(

...I do believe I still have a pre-deciding save, if anyone wants me to record it.

Yes, I loved the banter they had in Dragon Age and in Dragon Age there was more dialogue in general with party members. Mass Effect needs this but Dragon Age had no voice over for The Warden while Shepard has voice over, so they may not be able to give as much dialogue. And yeah I love that comment. Garrus has the best lines.

Yes, please! I need to see it.

That's part of the reason I killed the council too and I thought I was saving more lives.

Here you go! Sorry about the sound quality...I think Fraps needs to be calibrated

And yeah, I'm a bit upset about how those who chose to focus on Sovereign were punished for it, while people who saved the Council got virtually no consequences at all. When I decided to full-out on Sovereign I wasn't thinking about how many human lives would be saved; I was thinking about how many lives could be saved period. Instead, my MainShep now has to watch as her species gets grabby with power while she get treated like that's what she had planned for.

To top it all off? I learn that if I'd saved them, humanity's position would still be considered just as powerful by Cerberus...with the bonus that a bunch of aliens didn't hate me.

And Garrus threw a racial slur at me.

Sucks.

I wouldn't put much stock into what squad mates say in the major decisions in ME1. They're just there for an angel and a devil to be on Shepard's shoulder, so to speak.

Lol, that's ok I can still hear what they're saying. And your Shepard is pretty :).

Yeah, I didn't choose the "hold back" choice and instead "focus on sovereign". And when I was talking to the reporter in ME2 she asked questions saying that I was just trying to give humanity power and there was no choice to say "I just wanted to save lives" or something. My Shepard just went along with it. It made me pretty upset. I didn't intend to kill the council because I hate aliens or something :(. And then Anderson says the new council doesn't want to speak to me because I just wanted to give humans power.  Also, what the hell? I thought the human fleet had alot more people then the Destiny Ascension. I thought it only had the council and maybe some other important people and then in ME2 they say that the Destiny Ascension had more people on it then the entire human fleet.

Wow, that makes me really said he said that Posted Image. That's probably one of the worst things he could ever say to you. Hopefully he doesn't say anything mean to us in ME3. Or break up with us, that would make me sad. At least he doesn't say something like that in a conversation or something he kinda just says it because he has to be the person to make the you feel bad about the choice. It still makes me sad :(.

And if there is some kind of confrontation between a ME1 and ME2 LI in ME3 then I hope you get to choose and not just lose both by default. I'm going to make a playthrough just in case where I don't romance anyone in ME1 and romance Garrus in ME2.

Edit:

Sorry, I forgot to say thank you. Thank you for uploading this.

Yes, the lack if distinction between focus on Sovereign and let the council die is somewhat annoying (especially if you opted to replace the council with the existing races, rather than all human). Neutral Shepards get the shaft.
