Actually, I was halfway through romancing him for the hell of it before I learned the options in ME2. While at first I was more amused by the thought of Garrus as a romantic partner than anything else, I decided to watch a few vids of the romance. I was surprised at how deeply it pulled at my heartstrings and realized that THAT was the romance I wanted.
I tried to derail Kaidan then, but he was stuck to me like flypaper. So I just denied him booty.  :innocent:

Haha, Yeah I didn't think the options were that great. I was thinking of switching to Liara but I already started the romance with Kaiden and she was kinda clingy and awkward (but nice...) so I stuck with him though. I know, he does sound like that. I don't think his conversations are that bad but his voice...it kills me I can't stand listening to it. And actually him yelling at me on Horizon caused me to respect his character more (after I thought about it) since he seemed stronger and had some actual emotion is his voice.

Why did it amuse you? Because he is a turian? At first when I read online that he was a romance option (I looked it up because I wasn't sure and the conversation with Kelly kinda hinted he was) I went through alot of emotions. First I thought  "Yeah! This is awesome. Thank you Bioware!" then I thought about it more wondering how it was going to work    . And then I read some spoilers about how alot of people felt disappointed with the romance scene and they felt the romance was shallow.  I read bits of pieces about what happens then I thought    but then I saw it myself and over time felt better after reading what people thought of the relationship. Now I just want more conversations and romance scenes.

Did you watch the whole romance online? Did you save any to see yourself in game?

I went along with Kaiden's romance scene but I didn't really like watching it. I think they should of added a post-sex cutscene after Garrus' romance (like Kaiden's) so I could have heard what he thought.

Totally agree! We actually don't have a clue on whether it was an 'awkward cross species thing never to be talked about,' or if it was 'a night to treasure.' Nothing during the suicide missions drops any hints either.

Also, speaking of which, I read that Tali and Jacob had a special dialogue during'after the suicide mission. Could someone send me a link please? Never heard of this before. (Even though Jacob is just *yawn* a 1 dimensional character and boring...)

Yes! I need to know how it went. I hope they speak more about it in ME3.

I will post links to youtube but I can't be sure this is the right dialogue since I played it then stopped so I wouldn't spoil myself( I want to get it myself in game). But I think it's the right dialogue going by the video title.

Thought this would be interesting to discuss, it's been mentioned here before that there are lots of unconventional looking characters in fiction that women are attracted to.  Even now I am just squeeing at the idea of us ladies getting a quanari as a love interest in DA2, they look so bloody awesome! What other “strange” looking characters besides garrus do you find attractive? Someone said it but I’ll throw it out there, hellboy! I was so jealous of Liz during the first movie, She gets this sweet , funny guy who not only loves kitties but is buff as hell (pun intended)  and she goes out with boring mc boring pants!!! Granted they wind up together anyway but that part of the film made no sense to me because I would have been all over that! Plus ron pearlman has a great voice too!

Hmm.  I'm, as you put it, pretty boring McBoring pants most of the time.  Garrus is probably the most "unconventional" guy I've fangirled over, with the possible exception of Zeratul from StarCraft and SCII.  I guess it depends on who you think is more alien.  I don't find Zeratul attractive per se, but I think his art design is spectacular, and he's so filled with epic awesomesauce that it's impossible not to love him.  I kind of want to be him...except that his life so far has been pretty depressing.  Poor Dark Templar needs a hug

Not just women, I can assure you that. But when you gals get weird looking, though incredibly handsome, guys like Garrus all we guys get are a endless stream of standard human photo models. Boring and unfair!

I guess I will have to settle for imagining a turian like face on Tali untill we get a female turian LI in ME3.
