I just finished my second full playthrough of Mass Effect 2 and recorded loyalty missions and my Garrus romance along the way. When I watched what I'd recorded of the final romance scene, I was able to focus on it a lot better because I didn't have the Suicide Mission weighing down on my mind, and was really struck by the music used in that scene.

Seeing Shepard's hand trail slowly down Garrus' scar while the cello draws out its first powerful notes sent a shiver down my spine. I used to be jealous of the other romance scenes, but watching them again and comparing them to my video, those feelings have completely vanished. The timing with the music is done better in no scene than Garrus'.

Edit: I stand corrected. I'm jealous of the fact that the music in most (if not all) the other romance scenes last much longer than it does in Garrus'! :P

So I dreamt bioware released a LI centric DLC (my mind makes no sense, cause that would be a lot of work in reality). It basically had a story line for every LI for both ME1 and ME2, focused a lot on your relationship with them.

In other words, I dreamt about Garrus all night. But yeah, DLC that is completely dependent on playthrough... that would be awesome and so replayable.

You are very lucky indeed, that is something I have failed to do in the whole almost 12 months I have had and played the game...

I rarely dream about games/movies/stuff I actually want to dream about. I was honestly surprised I dreamt about this, the only other time I have ever dreamt of a game character was about Jaheira (I don't know why, I don't even like her that much. I think when I was a child I looked up to her, though.)

I agree, I feel scenes are always 10x better when the music is aligned properly with the actions.

Yes. That is part of the reason I watch that scene so much. Whenever I watch it I usually skip right to the part where he starts talking and the music starts. If they didn't add that part to the romance scene I would have thought it was all for sex. It feels so emotional for me.

I haven't seen the other romance scenes(and I don't plan on watching them until I see them myself during the game) but do they use the same music?

Oh, ok. Even when I finally do all the romances I'm going to have a hard time not picking the "we could ease stress together" in his "reach and flexibility" conversation.

you need to do that to 'end' that dialogue anyway. The one you need to avoid is when he assumes you mean sparring, only for you to inform him 'Not what I had in mind.'

Ah yes, Garrus, the most badass Turian in the Galaxy.

I kind of made my own skin when I ported Archangel to the Source Engine. How does it look?

He needs a name too, anyone?

Oh, yeah. Actually that is going to be even harder not to pick :(. I will have at least a few characters where I romance him though.

I think with the blue eyes and the armor a blue face painting would also be looking nice. But with the white painting the contrast is better.

Hmh, in latin, delere means to annihilate - maybe Deleran oder Delerus would be fitting then? It's just a suggestion and I have no idea what the second name could be.

That turian looks badass. I like the name above. But what sprung to mind for me was Envactus. Dunno why, it looks silly now I've written it down? Hehe!

I've had dreams about Garrus in the book I'm writing at the moment (it's not a fanfic, so he's that good that he is saving other galaxies as well!)

Then again, one of the characters is very loosely based on him, and another is loosely based on Kasumi.

I think that the Garrus' romance scene is good because it shows that it isn't a shallow relationship, as Shepard shows by carressing the scars. Whereas the romance dialogue makes it sound a bit like a just 'easing off stress' kinda thing.

Badass indeed. Reminds me of Nihlus or Lorik Qui'in.
How did you port it to Source?

Didn't someone already have the models in Garry's Mod? I have seen tons of ME shots from Garrys Mod. Just do a re-texture.

Ah Mr qui'in, I do hope to see him again. The male sheps got to flirt with gianna parisini (grumble) so I wanna be able to have lorik flirt next time. It felt like a missed opportunity on noveria, he asks if you wanna join him for a drink...likes human sayings (interested in humans maybe?) I'm still devoted to garrus but still wouldn't mind a

LITTLE bit of harmless flirtation Posted Image

Lorik did have one of the best (non-Garrus, which is on a whole other level) voices in the two games, IMHO.

He does. He's also one of the more aesthetically pleasing turians in the game. (Don't tell me it's just me that notices the differences?)

Garrus needs to have a fist-fight with Shepard. It just came to me. Imagine these two best friends, who've been through hell and back, throwing fists at each other. That would inject some character drama and whatnot. What are they fighting about? Who started it? Will they still be friends when its over? Who knows. Stay tuned. After a few words from our sponsors.

Shepard did suggest sparring, but I guess for most people, she meant something else...
I think it would be kinda cool! Wrex did wonder who would win in a fight with Garrus and Shepard. I'm sure they'll be friends after though, but they may have to have a tiebreaker...

That is my friend that ported the model, yes, but I have ported multiple model packs over to the Source Engine:

It's a long process that involves UModel, 3DSMax, a .PSK importer, SMD importer/exporter and the valve compiler.

That's just in a nutshell though :P

I tried out the forums, but you need a log in thing. Is it just a general forum?
I agree, Lori Qui'in was a really cool turian. Not as ''impressive' as good ol' Garrus though. He wasn't in ME2, I wonder if he will make an appearance in ME3?

He's interesting.  The gestures, quirky dialogue, and character modeling, as well as the voice, make him stand out in a great way.

Yeah, you need to register.

Be ware though, the moderators are strickt when it comes to topics in right sections, not being idiots and such. Their ban-happy fingers go off as fast as Geth Stalkers can jump. Equally as deadly too.

Lurk some if you're unsure whether you want to post or not ^_^
