I'm frustrated because he should have had more conversations than he did, pretty much everyone said they rushed to him after every mission just to be told that he was too busy calibrating. People love chatting to garrus for a reason. I can see that they care for eachother without needing words but I would also like some confirmation just to stop people from telling me it was a one night stand or that it really isn't a "real" romance. That's what bugs me most.
It is certainly so. I didn't realise it was so bad, however - not until I started reading the forums with all these calibration jokes. I thought it was just the usual not getting enough of the favorite character. It happens all the time.
I really hope they will make up for it in ME3, developing old characters instead of introducing new ones (which ME2 was basically for)

Sorry, I mean "They do not believe have such great success with Garrus LI"
Yes I think this too. Garrus was presented as the novelty romance and even Hudson expressed his surprise at the reaction the romance was given. He said he couldn’t believe the amount of garrus+shepard art that was online, he even noticed the "head bump" resonated very well with fans. I do think they bet on the wrong horse regarding Jacob, it was obvious they assumed more gal gamers would go for him instead of a kitty/dinosaur/grasshopper/birdy looking alien

That's what's so wonderful about Garrus, whatever he says is pure gold and it is why the only criticism he gets is that he doesn't speak ENOUGH! I think that's the best kind of criticism a character can get.

Yeah, and that should have been a pretty good reason for them to develop non-LI repationship with him more. Which they didn't. Such a shame.

Of course! That reminds me of another joke (I've gotta stop with these jokes and funny quotes one day!)Yunaito wrote...
Oh really Hudson couldn' believe?Well,Perhaps, after this great success of our cat/alien/bird super sexy,Will be forced to return it.Eh Eh.I hope so.
Shepard: The fans of Tali still outnumber your fans, Garrus...
Garrus: Well then, this requires more... calibrations.
I liked the earlier post about nothing needing to be said between Garrus and Shepard because there exists a mutual understanding. It is a nice stance, but I am selfish enough to want more dialogue I'm afraid. I want to get to know Garrus more, we don't know much about him and he has such *ahem* nice voice.

"And one of the big ones was Garrus, people just loved Garrus and there was a love of interest in having a romance with Garrus. So we thought, "Let's try this in Mass Effect 2." If people want to have a romance with this bird-like guy with an exoskeleton, then okay.
That's one of those things that was a surprise was just how popular that romance was in Mass Effect 2. In the fan art -- other than Tali and wondering what she has under her mask -- the romance with Garrus is probably the most reproduced moment. I think it says a lot about what really resonated with people."

Very true. And they can't say 'it won't be right because he is an alien, and we don't want to freak people out.' Because Thane's romance scene had kissing.Yunaito wrote...

I will say Garrus is the only romance that has made me laugh - that whole conversation with the popping the heat sink comment is hilarious. But he also makes me go all d'awwww too. I love Garrus.

(shepard is talking to garrus, he suddenly leans in with his head tilted)
Shepard: Garrus?
Garrus: I was just, uh...*moves head back* trying to...
Shepard: Kiss me?
Garrus: Yes, kiss you...I know turian mouths weren't exactly designed for that..what with the teeth... but I know it means a lot to humans so...
Shepard: *shepard smiles and lightly kisses the front of his mouth* how was that?
Garrus: Not nearly as dangerous as I thought it would be
Shepard: That's because it wasn't french
Garrus: wasn't what?
Shepard: Nothing

The teeth are not a problem,, Just be careful of course! There are other things that worry me about turian. For example, no Garrus in ME3.

I've never Paragoned him myself, but I know for sure that's his Paragon line. The Renegade line is just applying for Spectre training, and even if Paragon Shepard convinces him to give C-Sec another try, he seems to have his heart set on becoming a Spectre - at least before he went to Omega, that is.Evelinessa wrote...
Also, I just finished ME1 for the second time today and I have a couple questions about Garrus.
1) I paragoned him on this playthrough and he said he would go back to C-Sec... but he also said he would reapply for spectre training. So which way is he? Did I paragon him or not?
I haven't heard that line before, so I'm guessing that is a Paragon-specific line, and it would definitely make sense with the "after everything we talked about" part. Because, obviously, my Shepard did nothing to discourage this sort of ignore-the-rules attitude. xD I don't remember exactly what he said, but he did sound worried. I'm right up to that part in my MaleShep's playthrough, so if I remember the next time I play ME1 (unless someone else can find the line first... which would be better, because I haven't played in a long time), then I'll post it here.2) After I stole the Normandy he said "After everything we talked about--isn't this a little extreme Commander?" does he still say that even if you picked renegade choices with him? I don't remember much from my first playthrough and on that one I accidently renegaded him(I didn't know his morality changes and I just picked what he wanted to hear).
Also, about the lack of Garrus dialogue: I thought there was a good amount for a romanced Garrus. It was a bit strange that he didn't have something new to say after each of the main missions like he did in ME1 (if the conversations were timed correctly), but there were a lot more main missions in ME2, so that's understandable. It's unromanced Garrus that most people are probably complaining about because there's only... what, three conversations? And I agree, it would have been nice to have more, but in my opinion, his mission dialogues are some of the best.

I don't think Tali has much either, actually - but I tend to pick her up last so it's not so noticeable.

Anyway, the characters who have the least amount of dialogue to me are the ones I don't like enough to talk to. xD

However, Samara has loads to say, even though she is recruited later on, lots of conversations with her. Then three with Garrus... But he did have some of the best one-liners. I'm glad that they put Garrus in just because of the humour he brings. A lot of the other characters don't have that humour (not that I'm complaining, it just doesn't fit in with their character.)
