Calibrations: Garrus Love and Turian Discussion

It may be that Garrus' proud stance yet casual gestures is what makes him unconsciously attractive versus Jacob's defensive arms-crossed belligerence or Kaiden's slow, almost feminine movements. (Sorry to both Jacob and Kaiden fans, but that's what they look like to me). If recalled correctly, Garrus also is the most relaxed around Shepard, making conversations more welcoming.
That, and it's hard to imagine a more masculine image than a standing sniper pose.

Also to Kim Shepard:
I watched the video again and it kinda looks like he rubs the back of his finger on her arm. It's hard to tell because it fades to black too quick. When I said he grabbed her arm I didn't mean he did it in an aggressive way. I meant he did it in an affectionate way.
I noticed something about ME2. I just got done with Grunt's recruitment mission on this playthrough and I noticed there was a lot of dead turians. The thing is that all the turians are in a pile of red blood. Their blood is supposed to be blue, right?

I agree that they may grow to find each other attractive. I remembered when I first tried the game(I never finished this playthrough. I waited months before I started a new one and completed it) I didn't think Nihlus was attractive either. I basically thought "cool, first alien...he looks wierd" and I didn't trust him either because of what Joker was saying. Now I like how turians look...well most of them. I can't say I care too much for the barefaced ones(I noticed this with Warden Kuril) or ones that have really bright markings like purple(I'm thinking of a C-Sec one). I think all turians are cool though. I like all of them even if they're trying to kill me. And I love their voices, especially Garrus'.

Yeah.... that's a BW oopsie. Garrus gets shot and leaves red blood behind too, sometimes. As do the other non-red blooded teammates.

Hello.
Just wanted to say hi and say that Garrus has always been my favourite companion. I loved the romance, although I wish there would've been more dialogue. Apart from Tali and Joker, Garrus is the only one on Normandy who has actually known Shepard the longest so I would've liked some more dialogue about what happened after Shepard's death etc. But, I'm hoping, that will come in ME3.
What I loved about the romance was just the feeling of complete trust and respect for each other.
Also, it was hilarious to see confident Garrus get nervous and the "popping the heat sink" line just made me laugh. Anyway, I'm rambling. Carry on with your Garrus discussions

As I recall, when Saren caps himself in ME1, he left behind blue blood too. And the salarians are supposed to have green blood, if the workers in Nassana Dantius's towers are anything to go by. Though I could be mistaken on this.

Nope, not mistaken. And krogan have orange, but don't always.. Geth are the only things that seem to "bleed" consistent.

About finding turians attractive, it'll always depend on the person/Shepard. I have a Shepard who can find certain things about turians attractive, like eyes and personality, but wouldn't date one because overall they're still too "alien" for her. My MainShep has always found turians attractive. The first time I saw a turian (Nihlus), I thought they were the most awesome alien species I had ever seen. Then his mandibles twitched when he saw Sovereign and I thought it was adorable. After more time with the games and then the forums, I realized how impressive it was that BioWare created the turians so different from humans, but still human enough that we can recognize all of their expressions.
I agree that Garrus didn't find Shepard attractive at first, but over time he's starting to find some things he likes about her physically. When he said that her waist was "very supportive," he really sounded like he was thinking about it. xD
Yeah, I knew you meant it that way.Evelinessa wrote...

Which colors and patterns would you like to see on a turian? I voted for Darth Maul. xD (Black and red, for those who don't know.)

Oh. I geddit nao.
An albino would be fascinating, or whatever the turian recessive equivalent would be. What would that be? Has anyoone documented the frequency of the various skin tones turians have in the game?

I think what really did it was that voice. Hnngh. That voice... No, I did not click on Garrus 23492384 times during the games just to hear him speak... Calibrations are probably seared into my brain, and I like it *w*

I'm not sure about that, but Stephi's tattoo database would probably have screenshots of every turian in the game, right? Or at least a lot of them.ciaweth wrote...

@yukidama: I click on Garrus all the time too, even when I know he has nothing new to say. I've probably heard his "I want to thank you" conversation at least three times in my last ME1 playthrough. Actually, I do the same thing for every turian NPC. Never get tired of hearing the one on Noveria talk about donuts.

Welcome to the Garrus love!
When it comes to Garrus sound-bites, I really like angry Garrus. Angry, enraged, growly Garrus...mmm. When he yells at Harkin, the whole Sidonis thing if you're standing in his shot, the sort of quiet anger he exhibits in ME1 toward Saleon...ooo.
Also, the sound of Garrus's laughter is golden. You hear him laugh once if Shep teases him about the scars, and it is the sound of magic.

You're not the only one. I just wanted to hear the part where he says that Virmire reminds him of Palaven(or something, I can't remember the actual line).

The first time I heard him say "Not now, Shepard!" I thought it sounded like he was being rude... and then I realized that I was clicking on him in the middle of combat. (Well, he thought it was combat. The battle was actually over.)

I do miss the lines that all the companions had in ME1 depending on where you were. They always had something different to say.Mresa wrote...

I know what you mean yukidama, I do love it when Garrus complements me on my fighting skills... 'Headshot' 'that's gotta hurt' and 'impressive.' I am a vindicator assault rifle user, like Garrus, so I do get a lot of headshots...

Yeah, I knew you meant it that way.I think a lot of us weren't sure exactly what Garrus' hand was doing at first. (Can't remember what I thought the first time I saw it, except that I watched it on youtube long before I saw it in-game.) There was also some confusion about the headbump in the beginning because Shepard's hair gets in the way sometimes, so he stops there because the hair doesn't move. xD
I think when I first saw it I thought he was going to grab her shoulder or something. Then alot of people said he was reaching for her arm so then I noticed he could be doing that. Yeah I think I noticed the hair thing too

I always go to hear him talk even though I know he has nothing new to say. Hopefully he's doing less calibrations in ME3.

I thought that line used to be on the ME Wiki, but I couldn't find it. I think it's, "This reminds me of where I grew up on Palaven... minus the geth, of course." But the last time I played through Virmire was a few months ago, so that might not be word-for-word.
The first time I heard him say "Not now, Shepard!" I thought it sounded like he was being rude... and then I realized that I was clicking on him in the middle of combat. (Well, he thought it was combat. The battle was actually over.)
I played through Virmire about a week ago and I think that's the line.
I thought he was being rude too, now I like it when he yells that at me for some reason.

I completely agree.
Also, How strong do you guys think turians are exactly? I think I read somewhere that they have alot of muscle. And Harkin never stood a chance against Garrus. Garrus just picks him up in one arm and slams him against the wall.

That reminds me of Garrus' line when he wants the Council to be saved but Shepard decides not to, and he sounds kind of angry when he calls Shepard "human". He sounded like Saren... which makes me not care as much that it seemed a little out of character.
I think most turians would be naturally stronger than humans, but there are a few exceptions. Shepard can lift Grunt. Although, Shepard's strength isn't exactly "natural" anymore and might not be a good judge... like Saren lifting Shepard effortlessly on Virmire, using the geth arm. Also, How strong do you guys think turians are exactly? Yeah, I thought it was pretty ridiculous seeing Shepard lift Grunt. How strong do you think turians are compared to other species?
