Tali may be my favorite character Garrus is a close second and the most badass in the game. I played the Archangel mission again on my bro's 360 copy (I play on PC) and I was just like "**** YEA"
I know, right?
I just love that mission...I let my kids watch the first part of Garrus's loyalty mission, and might have to let them watch me play the Archangel recruitment for sheer coolness.
I really, really like Tali's loyalty mission too.
And Hi Andaius! Like our new title? Or did you see that already? Too many July 4th festivities, waahaa!

Hahahaha... thank you, that was perfect, snapped me out of "I knew it would make me feel bad but did it anyway" mood.
Along the lines of memes and metaphors, I was thinking earlier today about all of the ones that float around now. Obviously 'reach and flexibility'. Imagine a few years hence, Garrus or Shepard is telling the story of *their* first time together to someone (not children); what would they say about themselves? She/he had ______________ and I had ______________; or what might they say?

Ok this is hilarious though... We all started speculating on what lines Garrus was going through in his head during the romance scene.

I actually choked up during the Archangel recruiting mission.
I remember seeing that blue suit and the helmet on a sniper and thinking "....Garrus? Could it be?"
...cue 2 minutes later....
"GARRRRUUSSSSS!!!"

See, even knowing that it was Garrus, I had that exact same reaction
But yeah, the whole gunship sequence is brutal on the nerves. I'm pretty sure I said "shut up, Zaeed!" out loud on my first playthrough, when he said "he's not gonna make it".

Anyone have some links to some of the sound files for Grunt or Thane? Got some one over at the LJ comm looking for them, and already hooked them up with the Garrus files ^.^
Which btw, since I always had a hard time finding them, I uploaded them to my website, so in case people need the links for them, they is
G Sounds 1
G Sounds 2
G Ahem Files from ME1
Garrus ME1 combat lines
I know ELE08 was the originator of some of these files... but I can't remember who else is. Lemme know so I can credit! But yea... links to Grunt and/or Thane sound files = super win.

I remember being momentarily confused in that scene how Shepard flung her arms open like that and then didn't hug him, LOL. I mean, even if you had Male Shepard, I think he still would have wanted to hug him.

I started thinking about every squadmate then, from both games. Which personalities and talents best suit each other to gain the maximum effectiveness out of them? I know a lot of Garrus fans would say he'd work well with everyone, but he's bound to work with a few squadmates in a better capacity than others. Either they encourage his best skills to the fore or he encourages their best skills.
For instance, I did not choose him as one who'd best fit with Jack in a squad. Garrus can be unconventional, but when it comes to leadership, he has still been instilled with the protocols of his Turian military training. His own squad on Omega seemed to come from similar backgrounds. Garrus might be able to lead a distinctly unmilitaristic Jack, Samara, or Thane, but the squad would just function a lot more smoothly for him if he worked with the likes of Jacob or Mordin.
Actually, I just noticed that I've made the assumption that in a squad, Garrus would immediately take a leadership role. I paired Jack with Grunt and Thane specifically because I thought those three squadmates would work best under conditions where they could work on their own terms without having to adapt to the demands of one particular leader directing the tactics.
So anyway... Garrus and two other squadmates with which he'd work the best. I think he'd work the best with more than just two, but have to consider the combination of all three. I think Garrus would work best with a squad that is disciplined but unconventional, so I thought of Mordin right away. Probably Zaeed then. Garrus plays the sniper, directing Mordin to areas of the battlefield that need a bit of a sneak attack. Zaeed I imagine likes to stick to his assault rifle, so he is the front line. Still, Zaeed likes to make sure he comes out alive, so he's not going to give Garrus an lip if Garrus tells him he has trouble coming his way.
Other ideas?

Soundfiles are in the OP now
@ Pac: you mean not only tactically compatible, but also personality/strategy/whatever compatible?

They all have a strong sense of justice, and are willing to take extreme measures to do what they feel is right. It also seems like their skills would compliment each other nicely.
Morning Garrus thread
Thane and Samara would be a good combination also.
