I seriously doubt they're going to force you to play multiplayer. It'll be an option. How does that take away from your single player experience? It's not like they devoted their main Mass Effect dev team to making multiplayer work--they hired extra people for that.

I didn't know if they were going to waste resources on the multiplayer that they could be using for singleplayer.

Well in Garrus case that is a very effective strategy.

Indeed... "SCOPED AND DROPPED!" (one of my fave Garrus lines)

Garrus opinion of the wrecked land that probably is Earth in that teaser trailer for tomorrow
"Why can't we go anywhere nice" :P

Anyway, if we are going to Earth, I think it only fair we go to other background places too. I want Motoko to be able to show Garrus where she was from.

@Evelinessa technically I don't think they are, the 'new people' they brought in are working at the Montreal office I think. The team working on ME SP is in Edmonton. I would imagine the resources pots are seperate for the SP and MP.

I want Palaven dammit!

IMO, I don't mind a "gather all the races", because I had kind of expected something like that anyway, and in DAO when you see the cut-scene of your troops approaching Denerim. That sent shivers down my spine.

I do really hope they upgrade the story from ME2 though. More indepth. More conversation. More Garrus. More Palaven. More turians. mmmmm

Yup only fair we go to his homeworld too, would make sense as well with the whole 'gathering of races'. Specially for 'human council' sheps who don't have the Turian Councillor to remind them of the dismissal of reaper claims hehe

One thing I just thought of, I'll bet you any money at the start Shepard gets the blame for the attack.

That's good to hear. I'm very nervous to see the trailer. I don't know if I'll like it and the closer it gets to a possible ME3 release makes me even more nervous because I'm fearful that Garrus won't be a squadmate. I would think he has a very good chance of coming back? And after all the "Calibrations" jokes and complaints for lack of squadmate dialogue I'm assuming that squadmates(and hopefully Garrus)will have more dialogue in ME3. Also, does anyone fear that BioWare might not really advance Garrus' romance that much by the end of ME3?

How about not having any spoilers about ME3 here? I would realy not want to miss this entertaining thread but if there is going to be ME3 spoilers I will have to stay away, no offense to anyone.

I'm not sure how much it counts as "spoilers" if it's the box text description.  I mean...if you buy the game in retail or online, you'll have to read it sooner or later unless you put tape over your eyes ^_^  But duly noted for future, potentially larger spoilers.

@lovgreno apologies if the comments seem spoilerish, as sable said, the fact this info is possibly going to be on the description for the game, would pretty much mean its going to be right at the start or may even have started. It has me wondering if one of the bridging DLCs will give some foreshadowing as to what is to come, like a prelude if you will and it'd give reason for the VS to be in it as Alliance most definitly be involved in any attacks on humans.

@evelinessa regarding the romance, well, yeah it does have me wondering, I mean it isnt as if we can have his babies, so we aren't going to get that dialogue, I can't see him leaving ship and taking up some role like Liara would, so it isn't as if we're going to get the 'come back to me' style speech.

One thing I've noticed about the VS romance (and to some extent Liara) is that they left it open for people to decide if that one night before Ilos was the only time. I can see them doing the same thing with the ME2 LIs. So I imagine we'll get some dialog to confirm if it was just that or are we wanting more. I suppose regarding the babies the topic could be brought up with them realising that wouldn't be able to happen and whether that would put any issues in the romance.

But I can't see them just having it so the romance ends due to that, real love is forever, through thick and thin, I'd just like to see Motoko standing somewhere (not sure where yet) looking out onto some Vista, with Garrus stood right behind her, arms wrapped around her waist, head resting next to hers (a little bit like how MaleShep stands behind Miranda initially at the start of their romance) both of them just gazing at the vista everything peaceful and calm, after the storm of the reapers has passed.

I don't want a 'happy' ending to be the only one, but I'm hoping there is more endings than we've seen in the previous 2 games (ie. more than 4)

@Sir Ulrich: No problem at all, I was concerned about possible future spoilersand felt it was best to mention it just in case. Apologies if I sounded like I was accusing anyone.

About the ME1 LIs, yes it does seem like the game almost encourages you to cheat on them. I hope and belive that BioWare have good enough imagination to let us keep old flames like Garrus staying on our ship, in our hearts, in our squad and in our bed in ME3. It is what many fans want so there is definitely a economical incentive for it.

I'm not too worried about multiplayer. I doubt it'll be anything more than an option, and it's an option that I won't use. Soon enough, I'll get to see how optional the "bridge the gap" DLC really is. That's what I worry about. Honestly, I didn't even notice the multiplayer announcement on that page.

[spoilers?] What I read about the plot looks awesome. Building an army like in DAO and visiting Earth were two of the most expected things for ME3, at least from what I've seen on the forums. Can't wait to see Earthborn Shepard's reaction to seeing his/her home planet, probably in flames. I know I have two who would be angry about it and hate the Collectors even more, one who couldn't care less because he already escaped from Earth years ago, and one who would just joke about if he's even allowed back on Earth after his past. I also hope we get to see Palaven when we're gathering the alien forces, and Garrus' family. I'm sure my FemShep who romanced him and encouraged his Renegade tendencies wouldn't go over well with his father.

But one of the most important things on my list for ME3 is for Shepard to have a great "I told you so" line to the Council, hopefully something that involves the words "Ah yes, 'Reapers.'" If they really do try to blame Shepard... I can see a lot of my Shepards wishing that they had let Sovereign kill the Council way back in ME1. It would go along with the idea that the Council will/try to arrest Shepard though, and I've always liked that idea. [/possible spoilers]

@Sir Ulrich: Motoko sounds interesting. :) I like that "when you want a problem shot, ask a turian" line too. It seems very true about the turians we've seen so far. My MainShep hates batarians too (she's a Colonist), but she does like most alien species. Except the asari, because their flirting annoys her. Turians are definitely the highest on her list, above other humans.

@Sable: I hope ME3 isn't like the seventh Harry Potter book was for me... excitement and worry before the release date, confirmation of worries, disappointment, and death of favorite characters (again). xD Shepard should start working on that biotic barrier all of my favorites need to hide behind for plot protection.

@IndelibleJester: ME1's multiple endings were based on the Council - alive, dead, Anderson or Udina for councillor. Even though that choice hasn't made much difference yet aside from air-quotes and the reaction of that turian store owner on the Citadel, it's still there.

As a native New Yorker (Manhattan, baby!), I am used to such things. We're always the first to go in apocalypse movies xD If Garrus blows future!me up, it'll be an honor.

I'm sure at least one major landmark will be destroyed. I think that's happened in every apocalypse movie and game so far. Or we'll get to see the Collectors collecting humans in front of the landmarks. I can imagine Garrus asking Shepard, "What did this one used to be?" I just hope the car/shuttle/Normandy escape from explosion scenes (assuming there will be one) are as awesome as they were in 2012. :D And then I want Garrus to say it was just like old times.

Then again, having the Statue not be destroyed could lead to some interesting dialog. Imagine taking a skycar tour or something.

Garrus: Woah! Look at the fringe on that thing! Mmmm....

Shepard: That's a crown ******...

Garrus: Shshsh... you're ruining it. Is it hot in here?

Shepard: There's something wrong with you...

Garrus: That's not what you said last ni..... *awkward looks from fellow passengers*

Shepard: .....

I doubt Shepard and Garrus will have the time to check out the sights on Earth or anything like that. Besides, my Shepards would be pretty bored going through a tour on Earth... unless my Vanguards get to jump off the statue and create the most awesome Shockwave ever against the Collectors below.

Garrus: *looks at the destruction* Commander, I thought you were trying to save some of those people...
Udina: Shepard, you wrecked half the city!
Shepard: And this is why Earth didn't want me back.

Nope, it's all cool :D  I'm ok with pre-release spoilers if they're BioWare releases, but I will endeavor to keep my comments spoiler-free.

As for the ME1 LIs, the only one I'd have a hard time cheating on is Liara.  I really feel like Shep deserves a "what the hell hero" for that one--Liara goes through such crap and saves your life, and probably the galaxy to boot.  But I almost feel like BioWare was tempting us with the other LIs to see how many people would stay loyal after Horizon.

God, my Earthborn Shep is going to hate going back to Earth come ME3.  She's going to be like, "I know it's my job to save this s***hole, but I spent so much time trying to get out of here."

They did, and then Donovan Hoch stole the head. By now I guess it's part of Kasumis stash of loot. But they did make a new one. However I think Garrus would prefer to use the new one as a sniping hideout. This place may be even more fun to fight in than classy antique shops.

Hmmm now when you mention Statue of Liberty...
Is this replica or real?

Posted Image

If it is real not too much for detonating there xD who knows if there is Statue of Liberty at all anymore or what is left if Donovan got head and maybe some other collector hand and other body and another one leg xD??... but yea funny thing would be that it happened with Garrus :D edit: oh...I got ninjed by someone else

@lovegreno, ah I started with *spoilers* x) I knew that someone will say this. I was not sure if this was so spoilerish tho. I apologize aswell. I understand...No more  Me3 spoilers from me, I promise... :X

in the thread " the ending of ME3" many people talked about blue children (I guess they romanced Liara).
So I began to think about how a Shep-Garrus baby, or better, a human-turian baby should look like.
Well, if he/she has Shepard's face and Garrus' fringe it would turn out to be an asari, with Quarian-like feet (turian-like but smaller) =]

What do you think?

I'm not too worried. Garrus is one of the more popular characters, after all, they'd be stupid to dumb down the Garrus romance.

Of course, I'd just be happy if the two have a loving hug or something. The headbump is nice, but to me, the most "d'aaw" inducing thing ever is just a couple hugging, being comfy while having a nice little discusion.

...Well okay, there is the hugging on the bed but Shepard just looks WAY too happy there. it's like she's stoned or something. Give me serious mood hugging!

...Back on track though, I don't think that a lack of advancement of the Shep/Garrus romance is a problem in ME3. ESPECIALLY if you save Sidonis, you just know that the two will somehow bump into eachother. Major romance potential there.

I don't think thats actually possible. Humans and Turians have different biological structures to the point where they can't even eat the same food without getting an alergic reaction.

Still, it'd be interesting to see.
