Let's face it, the mere idea of an ME movie just got a lot easier to stomach by comparison.

Also, I still wish we could've given Garrus a hug in-game. And Wrex too.

I think Wrex wanted to give Shepard a hug, but was thinking "hmm... Uvenk is standing right there."Brass_Buckles wrote...

Soooo, anybody else think maybe the complexity/amount of face paint on a turian signifies their status in the rankings of the Hierarchy?
No, I think it simply depends on the colony. Some turian tattoo artist just created more funky designs than others.

I was thinking about what would be an intimate greeting between friends with turians and ended up thinking of two turians grabbing the sides of the carapace firmly and touching heads slightly. Which would then translate to Garrus putting his hands on Shepard's shoulders and then touching foreheads.
The brobump?

I know the turians have a saying about never trusting a bare face, but I wonder if there's some colonial pride with their facial markings as well. Like seeing someone wearing the jersey of your favorite team and you're all *brofist*. Or even more like state pride. Like how if you send all the Aggies to Oklahoma, you increase the IQ of both states. Or more like country pride. Like how the U.K. and France may be a part of the EU, but the U.K. is, like, better.Cerrydd wrote...

It's just interesting that for a culture that promotes service to the state, they still maintain that colonial pride. Which must be more severe than we see in the game if Taetrus is anything to go by.

I just read that they are doing a live action... "Smurfs"?! Yeah, that's for '11. What sadistic $*%*s are sitting around Hollywood saying to themselves, "You know, the public hasn't suffered enough bad movies in this early part of the decade. Let's inflict SMURFS upon them! In live action! We'll make them BEG for a sequel to 'Coyote Ugly' by the time that ends!"
Let's face it, the mere idea of an ME movie just got a lot easier to stomach by comparison.
I saw a preview for that today. Apparently, it's like the "Garfield" movie where the Smurfs run around in CGI glory against a real-life backdrop. Now what could POSSIBLY go WRONG with a killer setup like that??
I also saw "The Last Airbender" today. I swear, swear to GOD, in places it was like watching an Ed Wood movie, in others like watching a junior high school play. I won't say more.

Edit: With regards to "Airbender", I guess this means whatever goodwill Shamylan (I never can get his name right, sorry) generated with "The Sixth Sense" has officially evaporated into the ether.

I'm still of a few minds on this. Of all the pictures I've gathered of different turians in game, there's more than 17 or so variations (more like 35+) but some have common elements: the skull faces, the broad stripes, the elaborate visage Nihlus/Councilor V shows us.
There's some regularity in where certain elements show - like on the brow, on the lips, the cheeks, the mandibles, the chin. Some tattoos are only differnet because while they share the same element (like a common brow pattern) one is missing the cheeks or something.
So I wonder if maybe where certain elements show on their face and what kind of shape indicates nationality. As it stands... this could be a load of BS. Simply put - Garrus is the ONLY turian in game that has that specific tattoo... and yet, he's from Palaven! The Turian Homeworld! You'd think that you'd come across at least one or two other turians with the same facial markings, or hell something similar, but we don't. So I don't know if really... it's just artisitic license that guides the tattoos, their look and placement, or if there is a rhyme and reason to it.
I would LOVE for there for be something to it. I really would. But if it's just "this is what the art dept decided would look cool" theeeeeeeen we're SOL. I'd like to know that they're at least thinking about going back and making up some sort of system to it.
Update: I'm on page 1003 on archiving 2.0, I should be finished by midnight, I'm going to try and go for the goal. Things are getting a bit unruly in that our WoTs have calmed a bit towards the end of the thread, and there's lots more silly, but that's ok.
