No I was serious. That would be a too much generic ending imho. Ans Shep that simply splits up from his/her LI and flies away will make me rampaging too.

I think the best ending would be if we get to talk with him(hopefully a decently long conversation) about future plans and we pick one of the dialogue choices that would be the best choice for our Shepard(there would have to be a good amount of potential choices). Then Garrus comments on what we picked and when we are reading the epilogue it says a paragraph or two about the choice we picked. And unless I specifically choose to break up with him then I don't want the epilogue saying that we didn't last. This is my worst nightmare. But yeah the sunset thing is kinda generic.

Mother****ing Garrus, My man.

Lol, I love how BioWare sort of made fun of themselves with all the calibrations they made Garrus do.

Perfectly agree. A long, last round of dialogues with the squad and especially with the LI would be great.

I think it's the second one who speaks, so pick Grunt and then Garrus and I think it will be Garrus that talks.

No, it's whoever ends up being in the left slot on the bottom of the screen talks and that's chosen at random. It doesn't matter what order you select them.

Well I tried both and both times had Jack talking. I'm wondering if he actually has any dialogue there. This is why it's confusing me lol.

It's a common complaint in the Kaidan thread, too.  No KOTOR endings, BW!  (Either 1 OR 2)

This is a little bit of a long post..

Hm, I'm pretty sure that he has a line there. He must have. After the cutscene was Jack's portrait on the left or right? If it's on the left then that means that the game keeps randomly picking her. But if it's on the right then that means something is seriously wrong because the person on the left is supposed to say that line. Hopefully Garrus has a line. Most of the time the person in the left slot has the most lines on a mission(sometimes the person on the right says the most lines too but that's rare. Like on the Reaper IFF mission Jack was in the second slot and she said most of the lines). I usually reload the game a couple times to get Garrus on the left side(but I won't do that if I have to keep watching a cutscene) but I noticed that some characters naturally favor the left slot. When I take Garrus and Miranda on a mission no matter how much I reload it's hard to get her out of the dominate spot. But with Grunt and Garrus, Garrus almost always is in the dominate spot without any effort. This is just stuff I noticed.

I think we'll be OK in the epilogues. BioWare have gotten better about epilogues as their games have progressed, even allowing the player to chip in for his/her individual epilogue in DA:O. And I don't think anyone has to worry about Garrus pulling an Alistair. Garrus isn't tied down by any duties or obligations outside his work with Shep, and more importantly, unlike Alistair he doesn't give a damn what anyone else thinks.

Besides, I don't need BioWare to TELL me that Garrus and my Shep spend the rest of their lives being badasses together. I just need an ending that doesn't specifically say otherwise, and leaves the possibilities open to them.

I don't see what's wrong with the Alistair ending unless he dumped you. He has duties to do as King (if you made him king) and well, the fact that they're in love is enough for me. Personally I chose the Grey Warden ending for him and my mage elf.

But yeah, an open epilogue that mentions something but nothing specific is enough for me.

Oh, Alistair.  Magnet of fangirls.  Breaker of hearts.  I think part of it was that Alistair's romance is deceptively sweet and "high fantasy"-ish up until the Landsmeet, where if you make poor decisions it takes a prompt swing into "low fantasy" land.  And then to top it all off, if you DON'T pick the Grey Warden or King and Queen ending during your epilogue dialogue, the epilogue slides say you were together "for a time" in typical David Gaider fandom torture fashion

But meh.  I'm over Alistair.  Sure he was absolutely precious, but guys in real life who have Alistair's adorkable charm and none of his issues are better :P  And Garrus is awesomer.

Agreed there Sable. I pick Garrus over Alistair any time :D (if only because of the voice )

It is also widely known that David Gaider feeds on our tears lol

Sorry, I have a question ..

Why Garrus has many detractors?Maybe my opinion does not clear, I am too Garrus nerd. But he's a beautiful character, is matured during the games, is fun and a loyal friend.

And is a good lover.Apart from personal preference, of course, he did something wrong that I can not understand?

I would be ok with this. I'm fine with mostly anything as long as it doesn't say we split up. I may prefer details but I don't mind leaving it mostly up to the immagination.

I'd say Garrus has fewer detractors than just about any other character.  Obviously folks on the forums are quite vocal, but BioWare's data shows that on balance, Garrus is one of the most popular squaddies.

Some people like Coke, some people like Mountain Dew. The cool thing about Mass Effect is there are enough characters in the main party that everyone can find one or two BFF's in the bunch. And, just like real life, you hit it off with some of them, and some others will rub you the wrong way. There's no "right one" to be picked.

Except Garrus, of course. ;)

Actually, on first impressions, what were all of your Sheps' first impressions of Garrus?

Late response. xD My internet was being very stubborn.

This is the short version. I've got 15+ Shepards planned out, probably closer to 20+ now.

The FemShep who romances Garrus is basically a clone of MainShep with one major difference - MainShep loves Saren, while this FemShep only idolized him. She still doesn't want Saren killed, obviously, but the true MainShep would have a lot more emotion behind her response. Another obvious difference is her relationship with Garrus is romantic. Garrus and MainShep are friends.

My Earthborns tend to be surprised by how well they get along with an ex-cop. Garrus seems more like one of their own than a former C-Sec agent - he breaks the rules, he can be ruthless, hot-headed, and vengeful at times, and they like that about him. Not to mention the fact that quitting C-Sec to help them out earned Garrus some major points. My Earthborn Sole Survivor didn't expect Garrus to side with him instead of Saren, thinking that Garrus would have loyalty to other turians and authority figures first, rather than a human criminal that everyone thought was crazy. (Also, not thinking he's crazy earned Garrus more points.)

And all of them can't help but think he's a great shot after they met up again in Dr. Michel's office. Very impressive.

My personal first opinion of Garrus was, "Yay, another turian! And this one's coming with us!" Not exactly as deep as my Shepards' opinions. I liked turians since Nihlus first appeared on screen.

I always imagined Garrus pants to have little sniper rifles all over them! Posted Image
Kim that is a lot of playthroughs!! I have 6, and 3 ME1 playthroughs. Four Garrus, two Thane, guess who my faves are. Posted Image
I too, loved Turians with Nihlus at the beginning, I loved his tribal markings and his whole appearance, he was an actual alien! And then I learned more about turians and their culture. I respected how organised and disciplined they are (although this is very different from me!) There government structure can be a learning point for us. And still, Garrus is a non-stereotypical turian! I thought this was great, because here is a completely new species that has all this information and descriptions as to it's culture, and then there is a squadmate who actually goes against your average Joe turian, someone who resents discipline, and is more emotional than the typically militaristic and 'obeying orders without question' turian.
Just a little praise for Bioware on Garrus and turians, and how great their characterisation is. Posted Image

Seconded on both accounts.
