Anyway, I just did the suicide mission again and had Garrus be my fire team leader. I knew he'd be fine, since he was loyal, but when he got shot in the stomach I was like OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD and then he nods and Shepard pats him on the back and they go on their merry way.

But this thread is about Garrus and turians so. Has anyone else noticed that the dancing turian is the Presidium Groundskeeper? Funny since in his cut dialogue he complains about all the asari with the "funny bumps" who ask him to dance, and then he says "turians don't dance"

The groundskeeper's lines should not have been cut. I hope they fired the guy that made that decision. >:|

Despite the fact that Miranda was supposedly so hard to kill in the suicide mission, her and Mordin were the only ones to die in my very first playthrough. Cuz I picked Jack! She wasn't loyal so she died at the end when the rest of the team were fighting. She isn't exactly a favourite character like Tali and Garrus (although Miranda fans are very vocal about their obsession with her 'funny bumps...')
The groundskeeper is brilliant.
Shepard: 'Think there are any fish out in those lakes?'
Groundskeeper: 'I get that question a lot. I think it's right behind, where are the restrooms?'
From that line onward I loved him.
But for NPC turians, there is Lorik Qui'in...

Anyone else think he has a thing for humans, or am I thinking of the wrong turian?

But I do think that Garrus is the more, ah, aesthetically pleasing one...

Those guards are the most talkative turian in Mass Effect 1&2!

The Old Spice Guy is the twisted lovechild of Garrus and Jacob. Pathetic and creepy when you think about it too much, but HOT DAMN TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE DIAMONDS.

Lorik either has a thing for humans, or just an innocent interest. I can't tell. But his attempt at human expressions is hilarious, even more so because I, as a human, only understood maybe one of them. And that guard who wanted donuts is awesome. It's too bad Shepard can't get two chocolate donuts (a dextro one for the guard) and take a break with all of that other stuff completely unrelated to the mission that Shepard does. Maybe after running around delivering packages, the galaxy's first human Spectre wants a donut. (...Okay, that almost makes Shepard's job sound a little pathetic. But it is a fun mission.)

Doughnuts? Interesting, I will have to meet this guy on my next ME1 playthrough. People are generally more talkative in ME1 anyway. Even the crew, Garrus was never in the middle of calibrating then. He was just like, 'Hey Shepard, how are you?'AdmiralCheez wrote...
Lorik is the man. They very sexy man. But my favorite turian NPC has to be that one ERCS guard on Noveria. You know the one.
Hint: He likes doughnuts.
But he did calibrate the mako a lot. I wonder if he had a skateboard that he would lie down on and slide underneath the mako when fixing it, and then when he came back out his hands and face would be covered in dirt. That would be pretty hot.
Hmm, my mind does wander off on tangents at times...

Garrus was always fixing the Mako because of Shepard's horrible driving skills, I bet. If only he knew that my current MaleShep is not a horrible driver, but just likes the thrill of trying to jump over a mountain.

Hello Ladies!
Look at your man now back to me, now back to your man now back to me.
Sadly, your man isn't turian like me.
But if you go out in space and leave your man be,
You could date a turian like me!
Look down, back up. Where are we?
We're on a ship full of Garrus'!
And yes ladies, we've all got the voice.
What's in your hand? Now back at me.
A sniper rifle, for all those kick ass moments,
Look again,
the sniper rifle is now diamonds.
Anything can happen when you date a turian like me,
And ladies, we have fringes.
God I'm sad, and bored.
You're sad and bored and I love you.

And I'm so starting up Mass Effect now to talk to donut turian. I've never heard about him before.

"You know what I could go for right now? A donut."
The way he says "donut" sounds like he really wants one. A lot. And he's waiting for lunch break.

How come I never have intimate dreams? About anyone.
I really liked Lorik, he was funsies. Other beloved random turians are turian quarantine guard on Omega, friendzoned turian, peeing turian...ah, good times.
See, I do think DA:O on balance has better dialogue and banter than ME2 does. But the reason why I like ME2's characters and world better despite DA:O having overall superior writing has to do with the memorable and more importantly LIKEABLE background characters. I care about the galaxy of Mass Effect. I'll be really upset if sushi krogan and the Consort and poor friendzoned turian get eaten by the Reapers. But in Dragon Age...sure I'm very fond of my party members, but I don't feel like the world is populated with enough people I care about for me to give a damn what happens to Thedas. In fact, I strongly DISLIKED most of the supporting NPCs--Eamon, Isolde, Anora, Bhelen, Harrowmont, every noble ever other than the Couslands...I want them to all die in a horrible fire.

You people are lucky.
The only time I had a dream about Garrus, he and Tali were trying to prank me with amino-dextrous snacks. Because apparently, trying to kill your commander with fruit is the height of hilarity. >.>

Waitaminute... is it just me or are most of the best NPCs ever turians? Not that the other races don't have memorable characters, but turians seemed to be overrepresented in the "awesome" category.
