Hey guys, I have alot to catch up too and I'll post in a little while but I have great news for Kim. I don't know if you know this already. Well you know the ME interview with Retroplayer? Well they got Saren's VA to join and they updated the first part with his questions it starts here. Part two was just released.

Kim's going to love this.  It's like Santa left her a present!

Merry Christmas Kim! Posted Image

Thanks! :D I didn't know about the interview. It's awesome! Really great description of Saren's character too.

I skipped ahead to the Saren parts, just like I did with Revelation. So, did Saren's VA read Revelation... or did BioWare just tell him about Saren's brother? And did they tell him more than they told us? xD

You're welcome :).

I'm gonna guess that BioWare told Saren's VA about Revelation beforehand since Revelation was released before ME1 and it would help him with acting out Saren.

I'm glad Saren's VA had a lot of nice things to say about him. :) I know actors don't always like the characters they play, but he seemed to like Saren.

Revelation was released first? That's interesting. I thought the games were normally released before any novels were made. But I kind of bought the Mass Effect series out of order. (ME1 a few months before ME2, then ME2, and I think I found Ascencion before Revelation. Then I read all of the Saren scenes that same day and figured out what was going on for the other guys later. xD)

Long catch up post....

Concerning spoilers: I always read them. I am a person who reads the last page of a book in the beginning just to see if the main character is still alive. I don't like surprises (they could be bad) and I prefer to know what is going to happen. If it is something nice I will look forward to see and play it myself and if it is something bad I can just prepare myself to it or try to find out if it can be avoided or in a really worse case (really bad ending, Shep and LI dies...) don't play the game at all....

You're the opposite of me. I hate spoilers so much and I have a habit of getting everything spoiled for me. I want to stay away from the ME3 spoilers as much as possible.

I think the expectations on ME3 couldn't be higher - there are so many things that would be nice to see or to experience that I am worrying if one single game will be enough to do so. More dialogue is wished by all fans so I hope this is likely to happen. I just hope there will be no ending like decide: sacrifice yourself or your LI.... this would be really awful...

This is my most anticipated game for 2011. I hope that it's possible for me to get a perfect ending and that if Shepard or an LI have to die I hope it will be optional and won't be the only ending.

This is the final chapter for Mass Effect, well at least for Shepard, and it’s highly anticipated, I doubt Bioware will make it anything less then extraordinary. After all if they don’t a lot of people will be lighting torches and sharpening pitchforks. So they are under a tiny bit of pressure. Look at all the improvements they made in ME2 because of all the complaints people had. Now they have new complaints, lack of dialogue being one, that I’m sure they will be improved in ME3.

That being said, Garrus has been a squadie in both games, and after popular demand, a romance option. I don’t think they will toss him out or gyp him in the final game. And if by some cruel twist of the forces of the universe they do, get a sharpening them pitchforks, because hell hath no fury like a gamer girl scorned.

I hope you're right with everything. Bioware did say that they can really go all out on this game since they don't have to worry about a ME4 to import choices to.

leggywillow wrote...

I think he does.  He posts stuff about Garrus and the ME universe on his Facebook page all the time.  His most recent 2 wall posts are about ME3... actually the majority of his posts seem to be about ME.

For one thing, I think he just loves ME, so I'm sure he's happy to be part of the ME universe in such a big way, since everybody loves Garrus.

Ah, I just checked his facebook and he does have tons of ME stuff. Plus I think I did read that he loved playing Garrus.. :). So now that I know that he will want to do the part again I just hope that BioWare will make Garrus a squaddie.

I'm glad too. And he had some nice, long, detailed responses.

I played the games late too. I rented ME1 from gamefly a couple months before ME2 but returned it after I became a spectre because I wanted to buy it myself. Several months later I bought ME1 but I took a few months breaks before I finished it. I finished it in september and the next day I started ME2 and beat that in 4-5 days. I read on the ME wiki that Revelation came out 6 months before ME1. I think they did that so you could understand his character more and know what Anderson was talking about when he said how he worked with Saren. I own all three novels but I haven't gotten far in Revelation yet(first one I'm reading). Is it good?

Now I really want to see Fred Tatasciore's take on Zeratul. Who is possibly my favorite video game characters outside BioWare games. He definitely put a lot of thought into Saren. Funny thing is that if I listen carefully, I can hear him in the voices of both characters, but both Zeratul and Saren use vocal effects so I had no idea at first.

I've seen a lot of different opinions about the Mass Effect novels, especially Revelation when we talk about Saren. Of course I think Revelation is awesome. It gave more information about one of my favorite characters, and made him my favorite above all other Mass Effect/BioWare/videogame characters. He's actually one of my favorites overall, out of every character I've ever seen. But some people hate Revelation Saren. I don't understand when they think that his cruelty and ruthless attitude is a surprise though. I mean, it was implied in ME1 by Anderson, similar decisions can be made by Renegade Shepard, and considering some of the Cerberus news articles about the turian military, turians in general tend to use brutal methods like his.

Again, I really liked Revelation Saren. And that scene with the batarian.

@Sable: Now I want to hear Zeratul's voice. If I listen carefully, I can hear Saren in the voice of that werewolf in DAO. It's kind of hard to fight the werewolves when you keep thinking of them as Saren... and when you keep thinking that the Saren werewolf's voice is so much deeper than the other werewolves', and it's really cool. xD He's my City Elf's father too (which is hilarious because that City Elf is based on one of my Shepards).

I love this guy.    Maybe he's not as awesome as Garrus but he's close in my book.

You brave the Thane thread? I salute you. As myself, Sable and Kim can tell you, it is a place of insanity, naughty pics and drellicking Posted Image (which inevitably cause hallucinations... Posted Image

When I last looked on Brandon Keener's facebook page, on the box that said 'info about me,' he put that he is famously the voice of Garrus Vakarian in the popular Mass effect series. I also saw him write one time that he absolutely ecstatic about the amount of fame he has got from being Garrus' VA. And he specified that he is even more ecstatic because VA's almost never get that much recognition. So I think it's safe to say he loves it! He will def be the VA in ME3. If not, then Garrus won't be the same. I'll still love him an' all. But I will be thinking of DAT VOICE!! Posted Image

Wait, Saren is the same VA as the City Elf's dad in Dragon Age. *runs off to create another CE*

On another note. Finished the replay on my canon. In the end Zaeed, Miranda and Samara died.

I didn't realize it either until someone said it on the forums. But yeah, he is. And it's awesome. And very confusing for my current MaleShep, who's an Earthborn in Mass Effect and a City Elf in DAO.

Saren: Shepard, I am your father. >:D
Shepard: But... how? D:

lol. Wow, it just feels a bit..strange. I almost choked up playing my CE when she, after she found out that she had to leave, spoke to her father and he said "Go....before I embarass us both" in that shaky voice. But I want to stay with you Saren.....ehm, daddy?

It might be the only time we get to hear "Saren" sound like that. xD My MainShep will be very, very happy that I planned to make her a Dalish Elf, and not a City Elf. Because if Saren was her father in an alternate universe, that would be a little creepy. Actually, now that I think about it... with her as a Dalish and Saren as a werewolf, his thoughts about her species are exactly the same even in an alternate universe. o_o

I really need to get to reading it. I'm trying to read all the books/comics in order of the ME timeline.

And... I didn't know that Saren was City Elf's dad either.

I don't think they would even bother putting Garrus in there if he couldn't have the same VA. I don't think they would do that with any of the characters. But I don't think that matters much since I imagine that him and other VAs are under some kind of contract. At least I think he would be since this was a planned trilogy from the beginning.

Cyrion:  ::trying to walk away:: Umm... yeah, we had our emotional good-bye, can you let go now?
City Elf: ::wrapped around his legs::   Nooooooo Daddy Saren, don't make me leave you!
Cyrion:  Is this... a Grey Warden thing?
Duncan:  We certainly can't take credit for this.
City Elf: Teach me how to be a Spectre, Daddy Saaaarrereennn!

I hadn't really thought about it, but it just wouldn't seem right if she killed him, would it? xD And "Saren" is a cool-looking human. (If I was looking at the right human, he had tan skin, dark hair, and pale green eyes. Awesome.) Another thing that's the same, she never gets together with him in-game. How tragic.

Just looked it up, and Saren also plays the Grand Oak (yes, that's a giant talking tree, and it was very nice to my Warden), Wise Dwarf Male (don't remember him), and Lothering Bandit (oops, killed them). He also plays Balak (who MainShep would kill if I had the DLC) and, as we know, Warden Kuril.

Interesting, I played both male and female in Mass Effect, mainly female and Adapt class. My last character almost went with him. I stsyed with Liara. I use Garrus in my squad alot, also others. I used Garry and Miranda mainly because when playing Adapt. I use him for concessive and overlord, same with the other. Garry is also cool and good, plus Shep know well. I do it differently. I wished they had more options, weapons and armors. That would be better, more nicer. I hope we see more and Turians, a Female in Mass Effect 3.

I've never actually heard Balak's voice, so I can't compare the two. Kuril's voice was close enough to notice when I was listening for it though. So were Cyrion and Swiftrunner (even the growl sounded a little like Saren's). The Grand Oak is what Saren would talk like if he wanted to rhyme his words. It's face is even shaped similar to Saren's, now that I think about it. xD I can't remember what the bandit's voices sounded like. Wise Dwarf Male... I need to find him.

Yeah, I couldn't look at those characters the same way either. It would make some hilariously awkward moments for MainShep (Dalish Elf) and MaleShep (City Elf) though.

MainShep Warden: You know, your father's voice sounds just like this really hot werewolf--
MaleShep Warden: ...What?!
MainShep Warden: Never mind.

Well, it's finally here! After picking up ME2 for PC on the cheap, courtesy of Steam sales, and spending a couple days nearly tearing my hair out figuring out how to mod the game so I could play as Garrus, I can finally present to you Garrus Effect 2, the long awaited sequel to Garrus Effect! I'll be documenting my journey as Commander Garrus Shepherd as he returns from the dead and in the process saves most of the women in the galaxy from committing distraught suicides.

This thing doesn't cause sterility does it? I'm hoping to have a bunch of little Garuses someday...

You're the Illusive Man eh? Well I'm Garrus Freaking Vakarian. Your move "President Bartlett"

Is Garrus Shepherd gonna have to shoot a b***ch? I think Garrus Shepherd may have to shoot a b***ch!

I think we all know you mean when you say your information isn't "free" Aria. How about we order the henchmen away, and I pay you the Garrus Shepherd way? Bow Chicka Bow Wow.

The mission can wait Miranda. Can't you see I'm busy here with... research and... Calibrating?

Get off me Jacob! I'm not as think as you drunk I am!... Wait...
