Those screenshots are all great. I think Garrus holding a gun with fire in the background is my favorite. (My favorite characters tend to do that anyway.)

Now, for the question that will probably be asked eventually... will Garrus romance Garrus?

And now, for the question that only I would ask. xD Is it possible in ME1 to put Saren's character model in place of Kaidan's? I know it's possible to put Saren in place of Shepard because I saw it on youtube, but that doesn't help my MainShep romance him. (I know, it would be really weird to hear Kaidan's words coming out of Saren. But the screenshots would be awesome.)

Ha! You're not the first one so far who's asked me to do GarrusxGarrus XD. I'm going to go through all the female LIs first (I have a video planned. Mwa ha ha), but maybe I'll do Garrus and Garrus after that.

As for replacing squad members with other characters, I have no idea. I hadn't even thought about it before. I suppose its possible in theory. I may have to look into it.

A headbump with two Garruses would be adorable. xD And thanks in advance if you figure out how to switch the NPCs. I have no tech skill.

That is one epic picture. Even Legion can't help admiring Garrus's sexiness.

Does anyone else notice that Garrus seems to be a lot bigger in ME2 than he was in ME1? He seems taller and thicker. Is that just his armor or has he his the gym lifting weights?

It's a change in his character model, I think. But whether he was always supposed to be that much bigger and it's the new and improved character model due to the better graphics in ME2, or Garrus ate his spinach and drank his protein shakes for the last two years, I have no idea.

I think I like him when he is bigger.

Me, too.  It makes more sense to me.  Of course, Shepard doesn't look as short next to him or Grunt as she should.

I think it's just because of the necessary camera angles. In the magic of fics, Meghan needs to stand on something to reach Garrus' head. ;)

I prefer Garrus as taller and more muscular too (or that's how I perceive it!) Meghan is my favourite of your Shepard ladies sia (but don't tell Ella and Alexis, they will kick my ass, especially Ella! ;) Hehe. Merry Christmas Eve to you all! A lovely christmas present from Bioware would be to know that Garrus is a squaddie in ME3! Fingers crossed...

I don't write Ella and Alexis. ;)  Jillyfae and Sappyreelf do.

I'm glad you like my destructo girl!

Merry Christmas Eve to you, too!

That would be awesome only if Legion was even looking at him.

Legion can't look directly at Garrus. His flashlight face would break from awesomeness overload.

It's getting close to Christmas, so you guys knew I was going to post this eventually, right?

(This awesome picture was not made by me, obviously. I found it in the Mass Effect Christmas thread.)

If your Shepards celebrate the gift-giving, what kind of presents would they buy for their favorite turians? I also wonder if any turians celebrate it. Humans have at least been around long enough for them to know Christmas exists.

That was the purpose behind that captioned screenshot I took and posted a few pages back. I captioned it for giggles, because it amused me. But I took it because people had asked this same question in the past, and no one had a screenshot to pull out to prove whether or not Garrus is taller in ME2 than ME1.

As far as I can tell, Garrus is not actually (if the screenshot's accurate) any taller than he used to be--although I'd need a similar shot of the ME2 version side-by-side with Shepard to be 100% sure. Any takers on that project?

ME1 Garrus next to Sylvia Shepard:

He appears bulkier in ME2 for sure due to the armor and a model redesign, though. In ME1, Garrus wears light to medium armor. In ME2 he appears to have graduated to heavy armor. So he's probably been hitting the gym, too. And, yes, the character model appears to have been redesigned--the head is the same except for the retexturing due to the scars, but the bodies of the turians look a bit different in ME2. Speculation is that the team wanted them to look a bit less alien due to the fact that Garrus can be romanced in ME2. They may see another redesign in ME3. Who knows?

I don't think the turians look any less alien in ME2... I haven't noticed a difference at all. And I look at the turians. A lot.

As for the size, I agree that it's probably just the heavy armor. The best way to compare if Garrus himself got any bigger between both games would be a screenshot from his romance scene, when he's wearing casual clothing and standing close to Shepard. I don't have any screenshots to show (I play on the Xbox), but I'm sure someone does.

Hmmm.  Their bodies in casual clothing I think did remain the same.  It was probably just that the armor for them got redesigned for, well, pretty much every turian.  I don't think I even saw any turians wearing anything other than heavy armor or casual clothing in ME2, come to think of it.  And maybe it's because of that redesign with the heavy armor that their shape seems different to me.  Though I do think the shape of the "collar" or "back plate" or whatever you want to call it may have been redesigned.  Here's hoping ME3 comes with an art CD rather than a book that (from what I've heard) doesn't even show much of the design process.

I can't be too sure about any changes or lack thereof because I haven't replayed ME2 yet, and it's going to be a while before I can.  But, at least I'm enjoying playing a vanguard.  If I'd known it would be this easy I'd have kicked the difficulty level up a bit, but I still have to keep reminding myself that no, I do not have to attack at range.  I'm a vanguard, I have a shotgun.

That's a good screenshot. :) Garrus' height looks the same to me, and the size of his arms looks pretty similar in casual clothes and light armor. Same with the collar. The rest of him is a little hard to judge in side-view, but I'd say the main difference is armor (and of course, the scars). I think everyone, or at least most of them, got new armor between games though. It does look different in ME2, even for the humans.

And I have the art book now, so I can answer that question! The concept art for Garrus seemed to be focused around his scars and the new armor, mainly its damaged look. It was basically the same as the Garrus we see in-game, and the ony thing I noticed was the concept art made it obvious that the bandages go down past his neck and the front/side piece of his collar.

I honestly think Garrus has way more scars than we see, so that wouldn't surprise me about the concept art. The way his armor's scarred up (it has a hole through it that I actually looked through once--can't remember how I had my camera angle set up though), he's surely scarred on his body as well. Since I could see through his armor hole at one point, I'm guessing he actually has a hole through his "collar"--one nasty wound. So if having his face disfigured makes him self-conscious, it's no wonder he felt so self-conscious about Shepard essentially propositioning him (edited to add...) because in that situation, she'd be seeing a lot more of his body and his scars than just his face. Fortunately for him, my Shepards, at least, have been more interested in his personality than his physique.
