But my more renegade Shepards will happily let him take the shot.
It's all a matter of perspective.

Hm, interesting. Thane died in my mission, but Shep pulled Garrus up first and then he returned the favor. I assumed the game was turning on the love potion. LOL
Oh, and you guys have probably discussed it many times before, but what are thoughts concerning Sidonis? Does he really move on if Sidonis either walks or if he shoots him? My Shepard is a renegon, and she half-heartedly tried to talk him out of shooting Sidonis, but in the end got out of the way and let him take the shot. I wonder if he won't thank her for it in the end, though.
If you don't kill Sidonis then you get more dialogue from Garrus before you leave the Citadel, but no matter what you do he thanks you during his next conversation on the Normandy. I don't know how he will feel about it in ME3, though. I'm going to have most of my Sheps save him because I think it's helping Garrus more in the end.

Ah well. I don't really mind. The stuff I write for the kink meme is usually Garrus-related and quite tame.
Sorry, should've asked before I linked.
I recognize most of the stuff you write for k meme though. At least the ones you use your canon Shep for
Nah, no worries
TBH, I do kind of wish which character you caught/which character picks Shep up keys off of the LIs. Or at least which character you had in your party the most, since the data gathered by the devs implies that the game has some way of tracking that. I've caught Miranda the last two times, and although I adore Miranda, I kind of want my FemShep to catch Garrus.
She did catch Grunt once, and I was like, "Umm, I don't think that's physically possible, hon." <_<

I plan on fudging it in Loved. Meghan will catch Garrus, Garrus will catch Meghan.
I got that with no problem my first playthrough. Then on the last two runs through the suicide mission, Kaliya's caught Miranda. Maybe the game realizes that crazy Cerberus woman has grown on me or something <_<

Not necessarily. I did science on this.Sialater wrote...
Yeah, but then you catch Thane.
The science is imperfect. It works mostly. Sometimes.

A surefire way to ensure Garrus pulls you onto the Normandy is to take him along with Thane. Because Thane is an ass who will not pull Shepard up onto the Normandy unless he absolutely has to.
...what if I've already killed Thane in that playthrough? :innocent:
To clarify, I've got two playthroughs for ME3 import. One perfect one, and one in which I've killed off a few squaddies.

However, if Garrus is the very last one standing, he will jump into the Normandy and leave you to die.

Mmmk. It doesn't matter THAT much to me, but it is nice to have Garrus and Shep catch each other

Wait, Garrus won't catch you if he's the only one standing up there with Joker?

Because you need two squadmates to survive the mission with you, if you attempt to create a love haven for just you and your turian, it will lead to disastrous, yet hilarious, results.Sialater wrote...

That thread was hilarious, though. Shepard is gonna haunt his ass so bad.

*snerk* Well, gameplay mechanics dictate that you need two surviving squaddies for Shep to live. So even though it makes no sense, it happens, and it is hilarrible.

And my EvilShep would come back to haunt Garrus if he ever left him to die like that, but only after kicking himself about being such a horrible leader. Then he'd haunt TIM for Lazarus Project #2.
@Sable: The same reason Shepard's persuasion skills will work with Wrex on Virmire even when it's not good enough if you don't have Garrus or Liara. xD Sometimes gameplay reasons save lives, and sometimes... they don't.

No matter what Shepard decides in Garrus' loyalty mission, there is no way to fail, and that means both methods help him out and get him to stay focused on the suicide mission. I think he's still upset about the death of his squad, but either way, he gets some closure and Sidonis is dealt with. My Shepards let Garrus kill him because they would have done the same thing.
I hope this is brought up in ME3 (though I doubt it). My Shepards who let Garrus kill Sidonis do it for the same reason you said: because they would have done the same thing. For my Evie, vengeance feels damn good and she's able to put things behind her once she gets it. I'm curious to find out if Garrus is the same way or if he kills Sidonis and realizes that it DOESN'T help.

Teehee, does this refer to the infamous "Thane is a jerk" thread? That was the most hilarious thread I have ever read on BSN. Even "Grunt is a duck" or the Tali's face joke thread did not amuse me as much as that one.

Actually, Thane's asshattery ran deeper than even I realized after reading that thread. When I started testing to see if there was a method to who caught who during the suicide mission, it became apparent that Thane never catches Shepard. Unless you kill the other guy, which I believe Kim Shepard managed.leggywillow wrote...

I wonder if anyone got Grunt a rubber ducky for Christmas...
I wonder if any of you saw my volus santa. There was a sniper rifle in the bag. It was for Garrus. Because that's on-topic to say.

I think Garrus is the same way. When he killed Saleon, he did say that it felt good. With Sidonis, I'm guessing it did feel good if Garrus killed him, but more like a relief that the guy who lead to the death of his team didn't get away with it. His team is still dead, and he can't be happy about that, but killing Sidonis does bring him some peace. And hopefully, no more nightmares.leggywillow wrote...

@Pacifien: Yeah, I was the one who tested that.
I did see your Santa Volus. It was adorable, and made a good choice for Garrus' present.
