LOL! I recall the good ol' days of testing. What a mess!Pacifien wrote...
Actually, Thane's asshattery ran deeper than even I realized after reading that thread. When I started testing to see if there was a method to who caught who during the suicide mission, it became apparent that Thane never catches Shepard. Unless you kill the other guy, which I believe Kim Shepard managed.

Hey Kelly! Guess who finally found a machine that heals facial scars for turians?... THIS GUY!
Don't worry Citadel... Daddy's here.
Here's the plan... I use you two as meat-shields to protect my gorgeous healed face. Ok? GO!
What do you mean you don't give discounts to famous turian sex symbols?! Where's your manager?!
Wow. I'll admit, I haven't been this impressed with something since I looked in the mirror this morning.
Why do people keep standing this close to me? It's... awkward.
What network did you say you were with again? Because if it begins with an F and rhymes with "ox" you're in big trouble...
GARRUS PUNCH
Oh spirits my stomach. I think one of my fangirls slipped a rufie in my drink... again.
Why the hell is Udina still working here?! He better damn well be the coffee guy now...
CrapcrapcrapcrapcrapRUNNING!
Why am I aiming from the hip? I wanted to even the odds for you a bit.
My god... It's full of stars!... Again!
If you think you're intimidated by this pistol, wait 'till I show you my "big gun."
Uh, Ash. I'm happy to see you and all, but your hug is clipping through my armor.
This is me not giving a crap. Can you see I'm not giving a crap?

Does anyone have a quote of what Garrus says when he's reporting from hold the line?
And does anyone think that there is a reason character wise that Garrus is towards the bottom on the "Catch Shepard" list?

Garrus Effect is very awesome. I like those civvies.
And regarding Sidonis. My Shepard is a bit of a hypocrite in that regard. She herself killed Finch in the first game, and let Garrus shoot Saleon because she felt that he got away once and took hostages who are now all dead, and there was no way he was getting away again.
With Sidonis however, she feared for Garrus. She watched him beat up Harkin and she didn't want Garrus to become consumed by his need for revenge. Speaking to Sidonis, it was obvious that he was suffering, and in her mind he wasn't worth the bullet and he was definitely not worth being the cause for the dark path Garrus was going down. She knows how it felt being down there and if she can protect someone she cares about from that she'll do it.

Heh, I had no idea this was so precise. Beginner's luck for me.Pacifien wrote...
Not necessarily. I did science on this.Sialater wrote...
Yeah, but then you catch Thane.
The science is imperfect. It works mostly. Sometimes.
Of course all this talk made me go replay the scene. It's mean that you can't save anywhere during the mission so I had to replay the whole &%$# thing. But I got my pictures. Legion and Thane died. Garrus led the first fire team. In the second team, Thane was leading, and Jacob went to get the survivors. I took Jack and Garrus with me, but Garrus' picture was on the left. This time, he didn't tumble down the platform, Jack did, but in the final scene Garrus caught her again. <3

But yay for the pics. Garrus and Jack are usually my team anyway (though it frequently gets switched up for Garrus/Miranda and Garrus/Legion), but my first playthrough I decided to switch Jack for Grunt at the end for some unknown reason.

I'd forgotten what Garrus says from the Hold the Line report, but I believe there should be two versions: all's well and all's FUBAR.Evelinessa wrote...

As for the squadmate priorities, I sent a PM to Dusty Everman about it because running the suicide mission over 200 times to get my answers didn't seem very appealing at the time. He said that while a priority list wasn't intended, one could still exist. Just the way it was coded, they went with a priority system over randomization.
But here's a thought experiment for the day: Garrus is one of the top three defenders for the Hold the Line segment, along with Grunt and Zaeed. However, while Grunt and Zaeed will be two of the last to die, Garrus's death falls in the middle of the pack before Samara, Legion, and Thane. Discuss.

Yes I saw that earlier today when reading the Suicide Mission guide. What the hell is up with that? I reckon it's some kind of bug. It makes no sense that he's one of the top three defenders but then he dies earlier than for example. Samara. But that's my personal opinion.

Well, I know the answer, but that would have ruined the thought experiment. It would have redeemed Thane for his asshattery, though.Aeowyn wrote...

Makes you wonder though what sort of psychological damage you could instill if Garrus was the last survivor again. I'd fall on my sword if that was the alternative, too.Sialater wrote...
Well, didn't we come to a consensus that that means he'd do something stupid and heroic to save another squaddie?

Yeah, that would be BAD.

Why do some think of Garrus as a Space Batman?
Batman doesn't kill. Wouldn't the Punisher better fit Garrus?

I'm saying the same since I joined the SN... Batman uses psicology against his enemies... he's a simbol, something to be scared about. The Punisher just kills the most scum he finds. Possibly with heavy weapons or sniper rifles. Batman is a poor boy who became an hero to honorate the memory of his parents. Punisher is a soldier disillused by the law who becames a vigilante.
Wich one fits better Garrus?

The Punisher fits Garrus because of the LotSB dossier. Batman just shot the criminals. The Punisher got creative.

I think Garrus fits Garrus the best.
