I'm a bit of a sap, you could slap a Garrus tag on anything and I'll probably like it. Garrus veg, Garrus medicine, Garrus hard labour, Garrus infection. Suddenly sad things don't seem so bad with a Garrus tag. (I really didn't mean to rhyme or ramble...anywho.)
I'm sure they're good, I'm not one for fan fiction but how can I resist a peak if its Garrus.

It's not all bad for Saren. I'm sure he likes being told how awesome he is and having someone agree with him all the time. xD I liked Loghain after I read about the novels, but obviously not as much as Saren. He will always be "favorite videogame character ever" and on my top five list for "favorite character ever."

He was just trying to be threatening, and was obviously frustrated that the beacon was found and over 20 years of planning for what he thought would save the galaxy was about to be destroyed. The way he's threatened other people in ME1 and Revelation (Evolution too, if that turian was him), Saren is very "in your face" with that sort of thing, even with Shepard on Virmire. He knows that works when most people are already afraid of him, by reputation or just by the sight of him.

No matter how much I joke about the asari, and Benezia having a romance trap just like her daughter, I don't think she had any feelings like that for Saren. She was concerned and wanted to help him, but the way she talks about indoctrination on Noveria sounds like she was afraid of him too.

@Tasha: No problem, the novel already makes Loghain hard to kill. xD (Just like Saren's voice makes a certain werewolf hard to kill. He roars a lot too.) I like "evil" characters with horrible pasts that give them a reason.

Is it just me or did the writers try awfully hard to get femShep into Jacob's clutches? Every line with him, renegade or paragon, sounds like horny Shepard in a singles bar.

Nope, not just you. I think the writers wanted to make him the "main" romance or something for Fem Sheps, but turns out most of the Fem Sheps out there are romancing Thane or Garrus. I read somewhere that they (writers) were really surprised that Garrus was so popular as LI and Jacob was so unpopular lol

I think Casey Hudson was also suprised the head bump resonated so much with fans as well

See...I don't know how any of them could have objectively watched the end result with femShep and Jacob and not have seen just how BAD it was.  I mean...when femShep looks like a B-grade porno actress spread out on the table while asking Jacob to chat about the equivalent of the weather in their first conversation...I dunno.  I can't understand how they could not see how that might not go over so well with people. XD

Yeah, I had to avoid Jacob with FemShep because I was worried about romance traps.That tone of voice sounds so wrong for someone who just wants to be friends. o_o MainShep wouldn't even use that tone of voice with Saren. Not her style.

I think I've seen two different quotes about the Garrus romance from devs - one saying that they were surprised the fans wanted it, but if they want to romance a turian, "Sure, why not?" The other said that they've seen a lot of fanart about the Garrus headbump and were surprised how many people liked that too. I thought the headbump was adorable.

The headbump was adorable though I still think the shower scene was a wasted opportunity and a horrible tease.

To be fair. I think they changed Shep's face somehow when talking to Jacob too. She looks more....."I want to defile you now"

Did they not know this would make people melt??  What's in the water over there?



I suppose one theory is that some male players play female characters and they would like the sort of Shepard who licks her gun up and down during everyday polite conversation with a man.

I'm not sure why Shepard started in the shower at all. That was kind of strange. Nice to know that she wants to look her best for Garrus... but I would have liked the scene better without it. Garrus was adorable the whole time though. I would have only changed some of the stuff FemShep did. xD

@Aeowyn: I think it's just the look on her face. A creepy smile can give Shepard a completely different appearance. (Remember the Sheploo smile?)

Starting off in the shower actually made sense to me after the discussion with Mordin (though, I agree with Eradyn, WASTED OPPORTUNITY THAR) because she'd be washing off dead skin, and in general... when neither party knows if you're gonna have an allegeric reaction, just seems smart to be clean.

I didn't care much for Thane, either. It seemed like they were trying too hard there, too. And the whole spiritual assassin thing kind of put me off. But no one really had a chance since I burned through ME1 to get my claws on Garrus.

I just don't know why they thought it was necessary to show it. xD I mean, I assumed my FemShep would have done all that before her date with Garrus... didn't need to see it. But they're all very small complaints about a great scene.

Sheploo is the default male Shepard. The one they use in all of their marketing. He's based of the model Mark Van Derloo or whatever is name is, hence Sheploo.

And yes, I've never gone for Thane. I don't know, I guess I had enough of the dead wife/kid going on the "dark side" with Carth (I still love him though, first BioWare LI crush LOL).

Garrus was just perfect for me. Yes, people think he's whiny and see his "problems" as worse than Thane's, but I don't care.

I like Thane. He's pretty hot looking (that whole Abe look for me) and it makes for some fun head cannon, his whole spiritual side.



Garrus though... ahhh Garrus... :3



Who knows what the writers were thinking when it came to a lot of the romance stuff.



The only complaint I'd have with Thane's 'mance is it felt slightly rushed.

I guess that's the price you get though in introducing a LI in the second game. Even the Kaidan 'mance felt like it had more umf to it because of the conversations you had with him. (Liara's still squicks me out, not because it's a woman, but because SHE'S SO YOUNG FFFFFF-)

Jacob's still creeps me out. DAT FACE Shep makes just... yea.

Though I did read a pretty fun Shep/Jacob story. Gave a nice insight to the whole thing.
