And a sexyfine one at that.  *nods*

...also, I never had much trouble with the Hammerhead.  Then again since my strategy in vehicle sections consists of AHH RUN AWAAAAAY I suppose the Hammerhead's well-suited to that.

EDIT: Top Garrus!

My strategy is hide behind anything I can find, jump and click as many times as I can in the general direction of things before I fall behind cover again. It's just so awful though...

RE: Regarding Garrus' age according to a BW employee:

Okay, this is attributed to Patrick Weekes with a LiveJournal posting under "Pats_Quinade"

On 9/11/2009 he stated:
"I don't think there IS a canonical answer, but the intent was always that he was a relatively inexperienced C-Sec officer who had enough experience under his belt to be frustrated with the system. I'd definitely say under 30, provided that works in terms of turian training."

Link to the full conversation with his reply at the bottom.

That's the quote I was thinking of. So maybe Patrick Weekes is Garrus' writer? He's also the one who called Garrus a "compassionate Renegade."

Mac Walters told kotuku that he wrote Garrus for ME1. I'm pretty sure Patrick Weekes didn't write for Garrus in ME2 either because he said something about the one who did, but I can't remember if he said it wass Walters again.

This thread.. so much win.

I need a "I support blowing up the Hammerhead" banner now.

Or I'd settle for a whiny Garrus saying "What a piece of junk.."

Remember that when Luke said that, it was the best ship of all time.

The Hammerhead needs moar Garrus.

Edit: new idea

----------------------

Garrus: *entering pilot's seat* I'm in a great place to optimize firing algorithms right now.
VI: The nearby scenery is flagged as aesthetically pleasing.
Garrus: Someone shut him up or shut it down!
VI: I cannot recomme--
Shepard: It's all yours, Garrus.
Garrus: I love this part.

So I was thinking about Garrus's Alternate Appearance armor and how it would be smashing if it were Tron-ified (but I apparently want to Tron-ify everything in ME), which caused me to reminisce why I even got the Alternate Appearance pack in the first place. Thane's outfit does nothing, and Jack's outfit comes with the unfortunate side effect of covering her most expressive feature. I could do without those. No, I paid $2 solely to fix Garrus's armor.

But I don't put the armor on him right away. For me, his damaged armor is like his own way of declaring he's a damaged soul, much as Jack makes a statement with her tattoos. In that respect, I try to hold off in switching Garrus's armor until after his loyalty mission. You know, he deals with Sidonis, puts that behind him, and celebrates by visiting Armani for a suit. That seems like a Garrus thing to do.

After trying to hunt down which writers wrote which character, comments from both Patrick Weekes and Dusty Everman have led me to believe that giving any one writer the majority of credit for a character or storyline is a disservice to everyone involved in bringing the character or story to life.

Cerberus Station, Horizon, Disabled Collector Ship, Derelict Reaper, Collector Base, etc. Basically the plot missions that you have to do.

Critpath is anything pertaining to the main storyline. Eden Prime. Saren. Collectors. Horizon. I'm assuming anything dealing with how Miranda works as a liason between Shepard and Cerberus is considered critpath.

That's what I do, and it does seem like a very Garrus thing to do.  Fixing his armor is also one of the few things my jerkass ManShep won't give him crap for--he figures Garrus will be Garrus and get around to it when he's ready, though he does give him crap for it later.

ManShep: Not cool, man.  We are officially no longer friends.
Garrus:
ManShep: You been holding out on me!  You knew how to get lights in your armor, and you didn't TELL me?
Garrus: Maybe it's because I knew you'd do something stupid with the knowledge.
ManShep: :innocent:
Garrus:  Shepard, you drove the Mako through a mass relay.  You shot a pyjak with the Cain because "you could." You're not ready for lights in your armor.
ManShep: :crying:
Garrus: Don't worry, you're still the prettiest.
ManShep: I hate you.  You're a bad person.

I am sure you wanted Tali tron-ified recently. So I think you do Posted Image
I agree about the armour, ever since he lost his squad he has been a different person, a damaged person. I said the same thing about his scars a while back, I wouldn't want them to be healed because it expresses how he is emotionally scarred from Sidonis' betrayal. Hell, even the bandage wouldn't go. That moment when archangel was revealed as Garrus, and then he got shot by that gunship... But I knew Garrus would pull through, my heart just stopped for a moment, that's all.
Hehe, I wonder what the turian equivalent for designers like Armani is? Posted Image
Also, for all those who strongly advised that I do not launch myself into writing a fan fiction. I started yesterday Posted Image
It is Garrus and Shepard after the reapers. But shortly after, Garrus dissappears without a trace. Shepard searches the galaxy for him, but without any clue whatsoever. Finally, TIM (who she had previously effed off) reveals he has a lead on his whereabouts, but Shepard must do a mission for TIM in order to find that lead.
And I am really getting into this fanfic!!

I've just fleshed out an outline for my first ever ME fic that focuses heavily on Shepard and Garrus. There is an introductory/summary sort of post here that sets it up. It's not entirely about Garrus and Shepard though, there's lots of other things going on, but I intend to show the true beginnings of their relationship while following Shepard's new mission for the Normandy post-ME2.

I'm a bit nervous when it comes to fanficcing so, hopefully I can stick with this concept for awhile.

Well, for those of you who have just fallen into fanfiction-ery--don't say we didn't warn you! XD

Though it is seriously a lot of fun. A lot of frustration, and a lot of fun.

If Garrus calibrated the Hammerhead, it would be the vehicle of the millenium.

Not when a slight breeze can make you explode:(. Garrus is the BEST, but this is beyond his power.

Well he has been busy calibrating the Normandys guns (and in the case of some versions of FemShep, also FemShep) so he just haven't had the the time yet. Now that this work is done however (well the "work" on FemShep will keep him busy for many years to come I suppose), he is free to pimp the Hammerhead.

Imagine....

Garrus enters the garage, shakes his head and sighs at the Hammerhead: Tell me Jacob, does everything Cerberus builds suck and blows itself up?
Jacob: Well not everything... But even if there is a risk with it the pr....
Garrus chuckles.
J: Don't say it!
G: Yeah, yeah. Go and get me the best machinegun you got in your armoury. And tell Tali to come and clean up the motor. I need Legion to do something about the shields, or rather the lack of it....
Miranda: Why are you talking like YOU are number two on board?
Garrus grins at Miranda: Time to show you Cerberus people how you do things the right way. Now let's give this junkheap some wheels. Wheels with spinners.

Sudden image in my head:

-----------------

Garrus looked over the Hammerhead and sighed deeply. He turned to Shepard slowly. "Does Cerberus have any concept of kinetic shielding? First the new Normandy has subpar armor, now this?"

Shepard shruged. "We found it in a garage on an abandoned planet, we can't be picky."

Garrus stared at Shepard. "Shepard, I can take more bullets than this thing. The fuel runs through the armor, so the first bullet to hit it starts a fire. The second detonates the fuel and cooks us all alive."

Shepard's jaw dropped. "The fuel... runs through the armor? Which is how thick?"

Garrus tapped the Hammerhead's hull, leaving a dent. "About two micrometers. That's generous."

Shepard stood still, dumbfounded. "Who thinks it's a good idea to run the fuel through the armor?"

Garrus held up his palms. "Beats me. But we can't use this thing." He looked at the vehicle. "If you can find the resources, we can build a separate tank with better fuel lines and thicker armor. And maybe even a kinetic barrier."

Shepard nodded. "That might be a good idea."

Garrus smirked and looked at Shepard sideways. "Then we can use the new tank to drop off this one on some uncharted waste of a planet and nuke it from obrit."

Garrus suddenly felt a huge amount of weight on his chest, knocking him to the ground. He looked up into Shepard's rabid eyes. A mandible twitched as he tried to comprehend the scream.

"DO EEET! DO EEET NAO!"

This is so much win. ;)

I think the Hammerhead's latent explosiveness might be a moot point given how much trouble I had keeping the Mako (yes the f-ing MAKO) from exploding the first time I played the game. Poor Garrus, having to put up with my terrible driving.
