@ Kim. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. We could do this all day. No wonder Garrus seems to be calibrating all the time. There are so many things you can do with calibrations...

Thanks guys. :) I wonder if there will be any more calibrations in ME3 after all of these jokes about it. Maybe Garrus will want to have more conversations, and Shepard will say, "So you finally finished your calibrations?"

I don't think the calibration excuse works on TIM though.

Shepard: Can the mission wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some--
TIM: No. Now. *instantly transports Shepard to the mission location*

That's pretty close to truth, actually.

Yeah, I really want a reference to his constant calibrations in ME3. Judging about how the games are going so far he will probably have something new to calibrate in ME3. First it was the Mako and then it was the guns.. I wonder what's next?

Yes, Garrus definitely needs to spend all his time calibrating Shepard in ME3. Posted ImagePosted Image

Here's a question: What are some things that you want to happen in the romance(Not counting a happy ending since everyone wants that)? Is there certain dialogue you want to happen or certain scenes? I have to think about this myself so I'll answer later.

Well first, I sincerely hope Bioware will let us carry it as a romance, because I have nightmares of it being assumed as a one-nighter, which is was NOT.
But I would love to see Garrus come find you, stopping you from doing whatever you were intending to do, and just talk to you, ask you about your life and the likes. And possible let it slip you know about his mother  and see where it goes.

Honestly, the possiblities are endless.

Oh and why can't Garrus be like this when he blows me off for Calibrations? I'd enjoy it .

I hope he keeps searching for that perfect adjustment...

Not necessarily related to the romance, but I would like to see Garrus take a few more levels in badass and develop some more confidence in himself.  He's definitely headed that way already based on his character development so far.

For the romance in particular, I would like to see the whole interspecies thing more seriously handled, especially if the relationship becomes more serious.  Cuddles are good too :D

Garrus cuddles (and not just the goofy animation in your room as in ME2) would be epic! <3

In fact, a specialized cuddle animation for each romance would be ideal...in Perfect World™, which will never happen IRL...haha

If there was a Garrus cuddle scene in ME3, what would you want it to look like?

Personally, I wish they had something like the Holodeck from Star Trek:TNG, where you could pretend to snuggle Garrus on a Palaven beach. Even if (Spirits forbid) he wasn't a squadmate in ME3, I'd buy the game just for that. lol

Yeah the romance seems like a one night stand at first but during the final scene you can tell he really cares. I will be seriously upset if something like this happens:

Shepard: *starts talking about things that happened in ME2*
Garrus: Oh yeah, remember that time before the collector base where we blew off steam?
Me: BioWare, it wasn't a one night stand...Posted Image

Or it would just make me upset if they don't really develop the romance forward that much. He is starting to fall in love(or close to it) with Shepard at the end of ME2 so I'm hoping that over the course of ME3 we move the romance plot by a whole lot. I fear that by the end of ME3 the romance hardly developed or even worse by going backwards..

Anyways, sorry for the rant but I have had these similar fears bothering me since I finished his romance(which was months ago). But I will put faith in BioWare that they will do all the romances justice. I do think that this romance has a lot of potential though.

Also I really like the idea you suggested about him actually going to you to talk instead of you going to him. I would really like him to ask our Shepards questions too(I love the way Liara did that).

I agree with all this.

And by wanting the interspecies thing to be more seriously handled do you mean between Shepard and Garrus or do you mean some things like peoples opinions changing because you decided to romance a turian? Or both(I'm guessing you just meant between Shep and Garrus though)?

Not a problem with the rant, it's a well-founded fear in my opinion. I mean the romances in ME were built up beautifully (only romanced Liara, Kaiden I  haven't), and ME2 IMHO felt like I was being bum-rushed. But I did love the romance and how it turned out, both Garrus and Shep realizing that they just might be falling a little bit in love. I couldn't stop smiling the entire cutscene.

Another thing I would like with him, shared quarters. I wanna see what's in his sock drawer.;)

Yeah I absolutely loved the romance scene especially when the reflections music started playing. And I know that the actual romance dialogue does have it's good moments(like "I don't want something closer to home. I want you. I want someone I can trust"' "It's about us" How he says that Shepard could never make him uncomfortable and him being so surprised when Shep picks him)but I can't help but get a little upset and worried everytime I hear him say "Blowing off steam". But the romance scene does show that they really do care for each other and I want ME3 to show it. Oh and if you've ever seen the rejection scene to Garrus' romance then you can really see he cares. He looks so sad in it and even trys to play it off like it was nothing so he can still help Shepard.

That would be really amazing if we can share a room with an LI. Then hopefully we get Garrus hug and cuddle scenes.

Only on youtube..and I damn near :crying:'ed. I mean I can't even NOT give Lorik Quinn his data or charm him, because screwing him and other characters I love over makes me feel absolutely horrible. They are so believeable it's like I really am screwing over actual people. I even had to turn off the volume when I saw Garrus' rejection, the emotion in his voice nearly killed me.

I have never been able to bring myself to watch Garrus's rejection scene. Just hearing the description is traumatic enough. :*(

I worry a bit about the romance mostly because Shepard doesn't make her feelings known that well (there's a few lines about trust and what not, but she never comes out and says she has feelings exactly). I was afraid it was all gearing up to a "one-night stand" sort of deal but you can tell that Garrus is really falling for her (heck, even in ME1 it seems he is greatly attracted and nearly worships the ground Shepard walks on). Why can't we just get some dialogue where we can say how we feel? I love that line in LotSB where we can tell Liara "I'm fighting for Garrus." Like, why doesn't HE get to hear that? I think it'd calm his nerves down a bit.

It is possible to say in ME2 that you really care about Garrus when talking to Mordin in the infamous "do not ingest" conversation.

Yes, but why not tell Garrus himself? So you can tell Liara and Mordin you care and how you feel but not to the person you feel that way about? It makes little sense to me..

Yes, you are right. I never really thought about it, how she confesses that but never tells Garrus the same, but it's high time she did. If this does not happen in ME3, it will not be logical..

I agree. She needs to say something. (So far, that's what fanfics are for, I guess. But I want something in-game, damn it!)

I always see that scene just before the Suicide Mission as being the real start of the relationship between the two of them. There's been a bit of banter and suggestive flirting here or there before that point but that moment is really the starting point. That first time they actually touch each other is probably when Shepard realises she has feelings. So.. it would make sense that later, in ME3, she can finally voice her thoughts. Maybe talking to Mordin and Liara (and I think there is a comment to Kelly as well) is Shepard's way of calming her own nerves down. I think it's quite sweet that the battle-ready commander is struggling to deal with having emotions and feelings for someone else.

What I want to see handled in the romance's future is not only how the interspecies relationship affects Shepard and Garrus, but how it affects the society around them. Has there ever been an interspecies relationship other than with asari? Think of poor friendzoned turian!

I want the galaxy to know. I want to encourage uncommon interspecies relationships. I want to fight the haters, to instill courage in the hopefuls, to punch Al-Jilani in the face again! I want to start the revolution!!
