EDIT:

And I figured out what else is bothering me about this digital comic: SHEP IS MONOLOGUING.

I'd want to see (hear) some smart ass comments from Joker or Ashley,or deadpan straight-man lines from Kaidan or Wrex (after they've been brought up in the "story," obviously), like you do on a DVD commentary track.

Just in case anyone missed the edit. ;)

Hey widow, I have you got the link to this comic? I have heard that many bad reviews that I feel morbidly curious as to how bad it is... And also, Garrus' body now looks like a human... He is a turian, I can understand it from a marketing view, I may be pointing out the obvious here, but aliens should look alien? Pfft...

So?

Go look at the writing for ME: Redemption, and watch the videos for ME: Genesis.

Then, do the exact opposite.

BAM!  Done.

Cut, print, ship. ;)

Ask, and I shall answer:
Part 1

Part 2

Credit goes to Mahalo.com for these videos, and Raptorix for pointing me in their direction.  (Still not sure if that was a kindness on her part, or a dick move.)

(KIDDING. :P)

Also, SPOILER ALERT: They skip over Feros entirely.  *fist shake*

Just figured out what ELSE is bothering me about this comic: For something that's supposed to be "interactive," it's doing a whole lot of TELLING instead of some serious SHOWING.

I know it's not the same as a video game, but come the frak on. If fanfiction writers (and regular novelists, come to think of it) can achieve some serious "show" WITHOUT the use of pretty drawings, why the hell can't these comic writers?

Not that I'd call this particular comic "pretty." God...*shudders*

Thanks for the link widow (or Luna, whichever you prefer ;)

Just watched part 1, and they totally glazed over all the squadmates except for Liara. They just loooooved Liara. It's a good idea that they have done, but these people won't be able to experience that relationship with Garrus that starts in ME1 and then reaches to something totally awesome in ME2. One pic of Garrus in part 1. ONE PIC!! That is one third of a screen. Liara is introduced later and she still is able to dominate three slides. Hmm...

Ah well, I guess we are lucky that we played ME1 first eh?

Yeah...but it still doesn't help me decide if I'm going to pick up my copy for PS3 or not.

*whines*  Not another moral dilemma!  :?

EDIT:  As to what you call me, I answer to many things.  Widow, Panda, Luna, Asterisk, Manda...even answered to "Yo, b!tch," once.

Yeah, that last one's a long story.  Don't ask.

Anyway, whatever makes you feel comfortable.  You knew me first as Luna (if I recall correctly) so if you wish to call me that, feel free. I don't mind. :)

I actually really really disliked the way the Garrus dialogue goes. He just seems to repeat the same sentiment. "I'm not sure about an inter-species thing." Over and over! I don't get it. Faced with Thane's suave Siha nickname, guh. I went that route.

But your breakdown made me fall for this romance and I'm definitely going Garrus this time through.
Thanks! :)

Well...the inter-species thing dominates Tali and Garrus's romance conversations for a reason.  Poor Tali could just as easily DIE as enjoy herself.  Garrus and Shep have fewer immune system problems but could still trigger severe allergic reactions.  Garrus is the least human of all the LIs by far, and his biology is second to Tali's for most physically problematic.  No wonder why those two romances spend so much time on the interspecies thing.

For me, the fact that he's willing to try despite his own uncertainties, all the potential medical pitfalls, all the awkward, etc., speaks volumes.

Well, for better or for worse, Liara IS more plot-important than a lot of the other squaddies.  Not attaching a value judgment to it or anything--that's just the way the game plot is structured.  BioWare's been doing this since they first started making role-playing games.  Some are more equal than others and all that :)

Well, just watched part 2 Luna, and I am not so sure if these poor PS3 players will remember who Garrus and Tali are.

Shepard: Garrus! How are you doing?

Garrus: Just like old times.

Garrus: Definately like old times.

Garrus: Do you ever miss those talks we had on the elevators?

Garrus: You know me, I always like to savour that last shot before popping the heat sink.

PS3 player who never played the first game: o_O Do I know you?

And that is why the Garrus thread is so full of indignation against the monstrousity that only has two Garrus pictures.

(However, one of them has Garrus duel-wielding so that can count as two) but still!!

I say this, but I do think that the interactive comic is a great idea for a series like ME, it just hardly features my main character at all.

Kaidan is a 'good kid?' That dude is 8 years older than Shepard I believe?

Only three, actually. Shep is 29 and Kaidan says in his dialogue that he is 32.  But, regardless, he is still older than Shep.

Not quite that much older, Tash, but definitely not a "kid," by any stretch of the imagination. He's 32 when you first meet him, which makes him 35 by the end of ME2. The wiki outlines this, as well, if memory serves.

Shep starts out at 29, which, if we're going purely by the passing of time, makes her 32 by the beginning of the second game.

Yeah. Kid, my ever-expanding ass. *scoffs*

Kaidan is 32 in ME1. He's 35 in ME3. (We think there was a birthday on the SR-1 in the hunt for Saren.)

It's alright guys, I have just discovered where I went wrong, saw his age on here http://masseffect.bi...racters/kaidan/ and took it to mean that he was 35 at the beginning of ME1.

Oops. *Facepalm* Now that that embarrassing little thing is over, how about a nice screenie?

Ah so I wasn't the only one who had to pick myself up off the floor after watching the PS3 comic? My ribs are still sore:lol:.

BTW ladies and gents, I was a'ponderin. Before Garrus jumped ship from C-Sec to join Shep on the Great Saren Crusade, what kind of social life do you think he had on the citadel, or in C-Sec? Besides his need to be guided and taught, he was indeed the eager student to me, totally adorkable and very personable. But it really seemed like he had lots of acquaintances but few friends.
Thoughts?

I think he was pretty dedicated to his job and didn't have that much of a social life. Just the way he talks about his job, justice is a high point to him and I think he was a hard worker and that's why he was so frustrated by the red tape.

That Genesis comic... I'm glad that'll never have to be my ME1. >_> They left out way too much. Feros? There is no Feros. How do you get the Cipher, then? Well, you don't really need that, right? And the geth? What are those? Spectre status? They just gave it to us. Not that they've been studying Shepard to see if he/she is worthy or anything. Nihlus? He doesn't exist, until Samara says you met him. The Saren persuades and RoboSaren? Apparently, the Council dismissed those claims too and they had to leave it out of the comic. *facepalm* PS3 players deserve better than that. I'll just have to tell them everything about Saren, because a lot of my posts will be very confusing if they don't know.

The main issue I had with Liara in Genesis (and in the games too) is that they're trying too much to push her as a romance. I don't mind that she's more important to the plot, but when they try to suggest that Shepard finds her attractive no matter what, that annoys me.

Saren screenshot! :D I like the close-up of his implants. It makes me wonder if I'm going to be right about my "Saren had a horrible battle accident and those implants are now the only thing holding his mandibles onto his face" theory. You can totally see through the metal and into his mouth too... Saren has a purple tongue. xD How cute.

About the extra Garrus dialogue, I might try that in my replay for his FemShep. It could be in character for her to hear the reach and flexibility story, wonder why he's telling her this, and come up with the idea to be really blunt later. Actually, that could even make more sense. I didn't have a problem with the dialogue before the romance scene though. It's her lines to Garrus in the final scene, and the interrupt, that I don't like. I never choose the interrupt. The rest can't be justified. I just imagine she says something different. But everything Garrus says is perfect, and I'm just glad his romance is there.
