There's certainly a limitation on character height in the game. You can notice slight variations, but the all seem to be essentially the same height. I think in "actuality," the heights are supposed to vary a lot more. Look at Grunt when Shepard releases him from the tank. Dude is massive in the cutscene, but shrinks down to little krogan height for the rest of the game.

Comparing Grunt, Mordin, and Garrus' heights right now. M!Shepard is about as tall as Grunt, but shorter than Garrus and Mordin (who is taller than Garrus).

I wouldn't have expected Salarians to be taller than humans.

(Good night/morning/evening/whatever, new Garrus thread!)

I didn't either...but then I never paid much attention.

I'd definitely say MShep is shorter than Garrus, alhough not too much shorter, anyone have a screenshot reference?

Also whilst I'm posing questions - what would Turians consider a good alcoholic drink? ie one for a special occasion??

I found the new Garrus thread! :D

I only played through ME2 once so far, but I brought Garrus and Tali to the final battle - I chose Garrus first and Tali second, but I'm not sure which one was on the right. I'm pretty sure Garrus held the omni-tool and gave Shepard the explosive stuff, and Tali was definitely the one to speak out against keeping the base (which my Shepard kept anyway). Shepard caught Garrus, and Tali caught Shepard. I have a few saves during the suicide mission, so if I don't have one right before the Human Reaper, I'll have one during the biotic bubble part. When I have time on another day, I'll try some different combinations. :) I'd really like to figure out who catches who, and who gives Shepard their opinions in the end.

The differing opinions is actually pretty easy to figure out if you bring two squadmates with differing opinions. Garrus will speak up if you say you must destroy the base. Tali will speak up if you consider keeping the base.

Agree with keeping the base: Garrus, Grunt, Legion, Mordin, Zaeed
Agree with destroying the base: Jack, Jacob, Kasumi, Miranda, Samara, Tali, Thane

I'm pretty sure whoever holds the omnitool (icon on the left) and whoever gives you the bomb (icon on the right) are going to be two different people. At least with every permutation I've run, that has been the case. And I've run this scenario a couple dozen times.

I noticed the height differences just from flipping through the different characters on the squad screen in the pause menu.

Clearing a page every two hours already, huh? You folks don't mess around.

And, you know, hey folks. Good to see we're up and running again.

I do agree that generalizing the title could help draw more activity, in case anyone was looking for my opinion.

Good point. Something simple like "Garrus Support Thread v.3" would work.

So the squadmates will only speak up if they don't agree with Shepard? That's unfortunate. I was hoping to get the Garrus comment for my Shepard who wants to save the base. Maybe he would speak up if I bring him and another squadmate who wants to keep the base? (For me, that would probably mean Mordin or Legion. I don't have Zaeed, so I wouldn't want to leave the poor hold-the-line squad without Garrus and Grunt.)

I'm probably not remembering the omni-tool and explosives part correctly. xD I've seen more youtube videos for the suicide mission than I've seen it in-game.

Put Garrus in the second slot and have Shepard suggest destroying the base. Garrus should then comment that maybe it's best to keep the base. After that, you can choose to save the base anyway.

Awwww Ape and Collider - but I like love and adoration! Mind you, you are quite right in that it might encourage more into the thread for general discussions.

This is an interesting science experiment. I'll see if I still have a Suicide Mission save I can test with when I get home.

I do recall snickering my ass off when Tali handed me the explosives, though. "I'll lend you a grenade" indeed, girl.

It would be out of character for MainShep to suggest destroying the base. ): I'm going to try it out anyway... but that's just for science. All of the squadmate-switching won't actually get saved unless Shepard somehow gets lucky and catches/is caught by Garrus and keeps the Collector base.

I think I'll have time to test it out tomorrow.

I'm still not sure why people would want to save the base, Garrus's input in favor of it or no. I mean, TIM has eyes like Saren's. And he seems very ominous with his desire to keep the base, too.

Anyone else thinking that maybe TIM is or is becoming indoctrinated?

I actually like the Love and Adoration part of Garrus title. But we'll see in the future. So far, we're going a very good pace (only four pages since I last logged in, woo!)

The one time where I did save the base, after the SM everybody kept whining as to "are you sure it was the right thing to do" I started to question why I did as well.
Do you think the default playthrough in ME3 might be that the base is destroyed?? (Much like the default playthrough in ME2 is the destruction of the council and the Destiny Ascension)

Here's a close-up of FZT. Seems barefaced to me, but I'll take a closer look later.

Actually, the TIM/Saren comparison could be an extra reason for MainShep to keep the base. xD She likes Saren.

But seriously, the Shepards I have planned to keep the base all have their own reasons. Garrus' agreement can be reassuring, but they wouldn't keep the base because of a squadmate's opinion. I think one of the quotes (Zaeed's?) represents the viewpoint of my Renegades very well - "You don't complain that the weapon is dirty, you just use it." Some of them have an "end justifies the means" viewpoint. MainShep just gave it to TIM as a thank you present - he gave Shepard her life back, she gave him the base and that data from the begining.

Friend-zoned turian looks barefaced, but it looks like from the textures that it looked like the paint was coming. So was Friend-zoned turian was recently cast-out?

@Brass: I don't know if he's (becoming) indoctrinated, but he isn't 100% natural anymore, that's for sure. If he wants the base, he should get it himself. That base has to go to hell, with him on it. They're both nothing but trouble.

@Collider and Ape: we're going to change the thread title in a while. I hate 'support' though, so I'd rather leave that out. We're going to put something turian in the title, so we can discuss others without being off-topic.

Only my Renegade keeps the base.  My main Shep would never give it to TIM as thanks.  Just because he resurrected her - doesn't mean she's in anyway greatful (She has "issues" with her second life).

Whatever spin you put on it, whether you save, or keep or destroy - I hope that the repercussions do come back to affect what happens in ME3.

@Rebe, nice one.
