I never thought of turian fringes as being similar hair, except in appearance. I just assumed everyone has their own fringe type - some have longer fringe, some have shorter fringe, and some have extra fringe like Saren (and quite a few of the turians in Evolution, including Desolas) - rather than "wearing" it a certain way for style.

OMG she blamed me for that, nooo!
XD

Fringeless Garrus can confuse people. xD (Edit: it also makes people spell fringe wrong. *facepalm*)

That's..that's like drawing Varric without chesthair. Nooooooo!

I almost laughed out loud after reading this. xD Too much time watching the DA2 forums...

gunna be the newb fangirl and jump in the middle of the conversation.

that fringeless Garrus makes me cry. in fact, it seems a lot of those comic artists don't even know how to draw turians at all. that makes me cry as well.

What a horrible image for a new Garrus fan to see. xD Someone, post a more attractive picture of Garrus!

I think the comic has well-drawn turians, but the art isn't always consistent. Sometimes they have front teeth (which they shouldn't have), and sometimes they don't. Sometimes they have human eyes too. I still like them though, mainly Desolas. He reminds me of Saren - it's the colors, the fringe shape, the eyes, and his expressions. I would be really surprised if that guy has no relation to Saren,or wasn't based on him.

Poor Garrus...if he lost his fringe in a fire or something of course I would still love him, but come on...if we're being honest, he's way more smexy with it!! ;)

eta: here, have a Double Garrus to counteract the fringelessness:

If he lost his fringe, that would just be sad because it would look really painful. If he never had it, my FemShep would still romance him... I just wouldn't think he looks as cool.

Double Garrus! :D (With fringe!)

I guess consistancy is the word I was looking for. I'm a artist, I understand with comic book stuff that it takes a lot of work and sometimes you have to be less detailed or such so you stay within deadlines; but heaven forbid doodling them so fast that they loose their amazingness.

Part of it might be drawing style. The humans, in my opinion, don't always have the most flattering expressions either, but it looks like a pretty common style that I've seen in other comics too. When they change details like teeth/no teeth in the front, or the design on Abrudas' sleeve (more detailed in one of the first images, simple stripe in a later image), that's a problem with consistancy - but it's not so important that I can't ignore it. Most of the time, I don't notice those things. I didn't notice turians had more human-like eyes until it was pointed out because I was too busy looking at how awesome the picture was instead of smaller details.

It's a double rain- I mean double Garrus!!

And the fringe is the one bit of him that Leo Shepard is the most eager to touch. I'm going to work that into the fanfic some where and if ever I can learn how to draw turians.. I have a very touching fanart concept as well.

That sounds adorable. :) My FemShep also wants to touch the fringe. (So does MainShep, but Saren's fringe instead of Garrus'.)

Edit: Sorry, it wont let me re-edit the links, my bad><

I found two pics of the Female Turian from the GameSpot Forums here.

And here at the images in question:

Somewhat OT, but when I looked at the forum link you shared, someone was commenting about, "What is this fringe you speak of?  IT'S A CREST.  Fringe=bangs.  WTH..."

Um, WTH to YOU, sir.  You're obviously not a true ME fan. *scoffs*

(I hate crap like that.)

Sorry I'm late (rough day, don't ask).

You know, my main concern if Garrus (or any other turian) lost his/her fringe would be...doesn't that protect your skull/brainmeats?  Please, wear your helmet when we're not shipboard.  I don't anything hurting your soft spot!  :crying:

"Fringe=bangs" only in certain countries, apparently.

Here in America, bangs are bangs. As stupid as that name is, we don't call it fringe or anything else. LOL

If I remember right, "crest" is normally used when talking about the asari's tentacle helmet things. If anything, I would think "crest" might describe what the female turian has. Turians don't exactly have an equivalent of "bangs."

Turians' fringes, and all of their plates, are supposed to protect against radiation from Palaven's sun. Their skulls should be hard enough that the female turian wouldn't be hurt any worse than a human after a hit to the head.

Um, the exoskeleton (aka plating) is supposed to be what protects them from the radiation.  Anything underneath it would be vulnerable, methinks.  (Though, with the backs of their heads and necks exposed like that, I believe this may be a case of the Codex being inconsistent.  Good job, devs. <_<)

Either way, head wounds bleed like a b!tch.  That would concern me a great deal. :(

Why does this make me bring up the question, "I wonder what the turian equivalent of a toupe would be?"

:o

I meant a turian skull would probably be protected as well as a human skull from injury, not radiation. They messed up there on the female turian. There are lighter plates on the back of the head, but I think the collar is meant to be protection for that and the neck.

Ah, okay.  My bad.

Still makes me think the Codex if full of it, though, considering.  *shrugs*

And I want to know what a turian toupe' looks like. :D

I just had a strange thought. What if Solana (Garrus' sister) ends up looking like fringeless Garrus? o_o
