I'm a bit late to the conversation here, but here's a couple snapshots of Garrus's head model.




As you can see, the scars extend to the front right of his neck, next to the bandage, but thats about it.

Thanks to Dengarde for posting the picture of Garrus' head model. I was wondering how far down his scars were supposed to go. So I guess the armor protected his collar, because the damage seems to stop at his neck.

The blue seems more like lighting than actually part of the skin. I imagine that part of his neck is generally obscured by the collar/armour it wouldn't be seen often. Still, it's interesting to know where the scars stop, thanks for posting that.

I looked into the blue stripes. Leonia is correct, they're the results of lighting. Those stripes aren't on the actual texture.

Also, I noticed that part of his scar hasn't that visible in the pics I took. In the interest of full disclosure:

Now that the tumbleweed has passed by, thought I would post a picture of the back of Garrus' head that has had me perplexed and confuzzled for a long time now...
So, I'm spinning the camera round and round in the elevator (as you do,) and then I'm thinking, Garrus, what IS that at the back of your head? Sorry if it has already been discussed, but it's unique to Garrus, not on any other turians.

It's some sort of black thing with a circular glass thing in the middle? You probably can't see it in ME2 cuz the armour is bulkier and the collar is bigger. It looks like it goes into his head or something?

Edit: WOW! Thanks dengarde for them pictures! The blue marks on his neck must be reflections from his blue armour. But it is really cool to know (not in some sorta sadistic way) that the scars go down the front of his neck too. It just makes him more bada** in my book. Thanks for taking the time to post them pics

Is that all it is? I guess the strap part makes sense, I just didn't understand the purpose of the glass circle inside it. It looks like some bizarre mechanical thing for his brain. But maybe I am just overlooking the obvious.

You guys ever think Garrus uses his visor's ability to track biological signs to try and figure out FemShep?  Not in a creepy way or anything, just using less subjective markers of physical attraction so he doesn't put his foot in his mouth or something.

That would crack my FemShep up if she ever caught him doing it.  She'd also want a visor of her own, but she's a bit weird.

Lol I wouldn't be surprised to be honest. Poor Garrus, he had no idea what was coming when my Shep came onto him.
