And actually makes logical sense on many of the Mass Effect 2 missions!

And I've been digging through my screencap collection (since I can't play ME2 atm since I am video-card less atm), and I found this little gem (can't remember when I took it...)
I see triple.

You do get it with a maleshep playthrough, he says it after he goes on about getting all the female attention, and now Shepard has a chance with the ladies. (Just had the convo recentlyLiec wrote...
I just got the "some women find scars attractive" line with a Maleshep. Do you have to choose the paragon option to get the other alternative line? D=

That's interesting. Maybe it's because a reference about all of the women flirting with him instead of Shepard would make no sense if he was never on Shepard's team? Does he make all of those "just like old times" comments if you didn't recruit him?Liec wrote...
Then it was because that Shepard didn't recruit Garrus in ME1. I'm not sure why they made him say the Femshep line, though.

I get annoyed when the game makes my Shepard automatically like a character I hate too, but in this context, it seems more... "someone messed up", similar to the Conrad situation, rather than a forced friendship.

Yeah BW made a pretty bad job creating new dialogue for him if he wasn't recruited in ME1. People **** about it constantly because it makes Garrus seem like Shepard's canon buddy and that's why some people dislike him.
True. When the recruitment mission ended, the Illusive Man report screen said that the revelation of Archangel being Garrus would help Shepard feel more comfortable. Problem is, this Shepard didn't like Garrus all that much.
He saw him as the inept kid who failed to get any evidence on Saren. The way he spoke to Pallin was out of line and gave him a bad impression. He thought he was reckless for quitting his job assuming he'd let him join his team, and that it was weird how he'd always be at C-sec staring at him every time he docked on the Citadel. On top of that, he mistrusts aliens.
So how's the creepy useless unemployed alien hothead supposed to make my Shepard feel "comfortable"?

But, then again, I'm biased.
And Sia, I love that you can only romance Garrus if he was along for ME2. I wonder if it would have been the same for Tali if you had an option whether or not to recruit her?

It is quite ridiculous and immersion breaking when Garrus refers to the "old times" if you didn't even recruit him in ME1 and barely know him.

Yeah but that's the thing Tasha, people don't like it, the same way people don't like that Liara is forced down your throat as the canon romance. They should've made a DA like system where the NPCs acknowledge you in different ways depending on your approval with them.

Exactly. And those who might otherwise like him, dislike him for that reason.
