I imagine we still have to wait a year before ME3 comes out? *sigh* I wish I had something to tie me over till then .What I need is a nice bridge DLC that mentions your LI (just like LotSB) hopefully one that stars kaidan/ashley.  As much as I nitpick over Garrus's romance (no closure dialogue, no branch conversations like ME1, too many calibrations etc) at least he IS a romance, thanks to his fans. I can't really complain because if any character got the shaft in ME2 it was the virmire survivor. The comic was a perfect example of it, “kaiden”? Really? “Good kid”? That’s it? Plus did you see the art IF you pick ash or kaidan over Liara? They’re in the bloody background! They deserve a good DLC , like Liara’s first meeting, it needs a DLC to redeem it (horizon shouldn’t be the last interaction). Plus... I will admit I also kind of want to know how they both feel about Shepard being with someone else, MOAR drama please.

Yeah but that's the thing Tasha, people don't like it, the same way people don't like that Liara is forced down your throat as the canon romance. They should've made a DA like system where the NPCs acknowledge you in different ways depending on your approval with them.

Which is why I can sympathize with that. At least they don't have to worry about trap romances if Garrus is the character they don't like though. The subject never even comes up unless you want it to, unlike some of the other characters who bring it up no matter what and have turn-down options that may not work. (Someone finally told me how Liara's trap romance works, by the way. Apparently, she thinks "I'm not interested" means Shepard is playing hard to get, and the only way to really turn her down is the "just friends" option. If Shepard doesn't want to pretend to be friends, well, they better not talk to her, because saying "I'm not interested" does not work.)

Apparently by telling liara we were just friends I was automatically romacing kaiden and I used the wrong turning kaiden down option and locked the romance in :L so kaiden got nuked

Leargh. I actively ignore Kaidan and Liara in order to avoid those romance traps. (also makes it easier when I nuke Kaidan - Ash is Kate's little sister substitute, a fellow soldier sole survivor, and her best friend besides Garrus).

Not as funny as telling her you're going to "drop kick her back into that volcano" when she gets mad at you for solving her years of research.

In my first playthrough of ME1 I never even found Liara on the Normandy. I would do the rounds, suddenly remember that I had her hiding around here somewhere...then decide that I didn't want more elevator scenes looking around and go talk to Wrex or Garrus instead

I finally found her in the back of the medbay my second playthrough, but being trapped by Kaidan in my first one and knowing she was notorious for doing the same thing, I didn't talk to her much. It made the "best friends/I hug you now" thing in Shadow Broker kind of awkard for me to watch. Damn you, romance traps!

As far as I know, Thane is the same way, but that could be a result of my romance conversations with Garrus being completed before I recruited him. The subject of romance never came up. For Jacob, it is FemShep who starts it... but it's very hard to find a line of dialogue that doesn't sound like she's trying to start it. I can't comment on the MaleShep options because the poor guy hasn't made it to ME2 yet.

Have you guys ever noticed how during Garrus’ recruitment mission Aria (I think it was her) says, “Where he came from, who he is, even his team didn’t know.”

But then back on the Normandy, you get that message from Nalah Butler (wife to one of Garrus’ crew) who mentions Garrus’ name several times i.e. she knew who exactly who he was.

Think it was just a slipup from BioWare or that Aria wasn’t telling you or didn’t know the truth? And why do you suppose Nalah didn’t want you to tell Garrus she sent the message- her words “And please don’t tell him that I sent you this.”

I don't think it's a slipup. Some of his team knew his identity: Sidonis recognized his name. The wife either already knew as well, or Garrus explained who he was in the message he sent her. Aria is probably just assuming they didn't know.

Ah. I didn't think about the message he sent. It would sort of make sense for him to explain why the "Archangel" was leaving Omega instead of carrying on. If she didn't already know who he was that is.
