Random observation: Is it me or does it seem older turians are darker coloured? I wonder if the carapace changes colour with age or if it's just a coincidence. The markings on the darker carapaces always stand out better than lighter ones (except in Garrus' case where he has blue markings, can't really think of any other turians sporting the Palaven blue).

I agree. Warden Kuril seems quite old, he has a darker carapace and his face seems to be 'cracked?' I think Lorik is quite an old guy too. Doesn't stop him from being very charming though! I am 99% certain he doesn't have a cameo in ME2 unless there is something I missed. I mean, I didn't know Fist was in Omega if he survived until recently...

If you gave him the evidence instead of convincing him to testify against Anoleis he'll send you an e-mail, but sadly he doesn't actually appear in ME2.

Haha, I remember that Garrus "chick magnet" picture. xD Perfect.

I don't think faceplate color changes with age, but the cracked appearance is definitely a possible sign of age. Saren's faceplates aren't dark really, they're silver/gray, and Nihlus has dark faceplates, but I don't think of him as an older turian (he's probably in his 30's). Judging by Evolution though, Saren's faceplates didn't have as much of a cracked look to them as they do in ME1 and Revelation (although, he was only 26 in Revelation... I'm guessing battle experience, possible injury, and way too much stress might have aged him). Desolas, Saren's older brother, does have cracked faceplates just like older Saren, Warden Kuril, and others.

Something random that I noticed while looking at Saren's page on the ME Wiki (http://masseffect.wi.../Saren_Arterius) - with all of the Reaper implants, tubes, and the geth arm, his armor appears to be attached to his body and is now a part of him. He might not be able to take it off even if he wanted to, and there might be nothing more than Reaper tech under there anyway, at least around the chest area (see the glowing tubes through his armor on the left side... you know, where his heart should be, if turian biology is the same as humans). o_o

This..this amuses me way, way too much. Techno turian is awesome and he better make a comeback in ME3.

Awesome chapter. I loved how that Mindoir scene linked with Shepard's upbringing and was so emotional. And Girard's French accent
Yeah, I need the subtitles, I have bad hearing, and don't want to miss a word of what Garrus and the others say. Also, just in case Saren's Argh, rargh, gargh didn't come across .
Will be adding the next chapter of my fanfic today especially for Singles Awareness Day . I love how there is so much Garrus fanfic, definately more so than any of the other female LI's.
Also, about the age, that is true about Nihlus, I always considered him to be younger too. So perhaps usually a darker carapace is an indicator, but it seems the cracks are too, except for Saren. They are scars of war.

I always thought Saren looked like he was able to swallow a cheeseburger whole in that Sovereign scene near the start of ME1. Grrr! RRARRRgmmmfff. Needs to keep his blood sugar level up.

Nihlus was trained to be a Spectre by Saren, and Saren was 44 at the time of ME1, so yeah, it's safe to say Nihlus is the younger one. I'd guess his age is between Saren's and Garrus'.

Ever since I paused a video of that scene, I wondered if all turians are capable of that, or if Saren is the only one because his cybernetics can extend farther than what would naturally be possible. xD Anyway, I think he has to drink everything the same way a human would drink a shot of alcohol, or else it would pour out the side of his mouth. He must finish dinner very fast...

Maybe.. Saren doesn't need to eat/drink any more and the cybernetics sustain him? Like the taint for darkspawn in DA.

After he became half cyborg due to Sovereign, that is very possible. The cybernetics on his face were there before Sovereign though, on the cover of Revelation. I'm guessing he used to eat a lot all at once, just because of how long he spent on missions with no break and constant action. Poor guy only had a few hours to sleep in between.

Nihlus' Wiki page. Saren met Nihlus when he was young and started training him. Within a year, Nihlus became a Spectre. Saren was the youngest turian Spectre at the age of 20, so Nihlus had to be 21 at the very least when he became a Spectre. Because it uses the word "young," he was probably in his early-mid 20's at the time.
