So, I just saw this on tumblr and laughed


But, of course, the tumblr I snatched it from did not give an artist source. Anyone in this thread know? I'd like to give the artist responsible some props for giving me such a hearty laugh.

It also makes me wonder if I'll ever get tired of calibration jokes.

Garrus looks adorable in that hat. xD And he has crazy eyes in that last panel. Understandable, because he is thinking about the Council... It would be fun to dismiss them in ME3. My made-up scenario would go like this -

Council: Shepard, the Reapers have invaded the Citadel!
Shepard: What did you say was attacking, councillors?
Saren: I believe it was "Reapers," Shepard.
Shepard: Ah yes, "Reapers."
Saren: I thought you dismissed that claim. *disconnects comm channel*

I'm getting used to the fringeless females. I think the males look way cooler though - the fringe was the main thing that made turians look awesome to me. Maybe he's jealous of Des. xD

I like the use of fringes to distinguish the males from the females.

At least they didn't just slap breasts on 'em. Hopefully.

I like that they used the fringes too, but I think it should have been short fringe (covering the top of the head to protect from radiation) rather than no fringe at all.

The only thing that really bothers me about the Fem Turian design is the complete lack of plating on their head. It's supposed to protect from radiation, and you'd think that the head would be one of the places that needs the most protection! Maybe have the neck-plates continue up onto the head?

Aside from that, I've grown to like it after the initial knee-jerk reaction.

How much of that cowl do you think is the armour? It appears to have a gap at the back, but other shots in the comic just show that part recessed a little, so part of it's size has to be armour.

She does seem to have that lighter plating on the back of her head. The cowl confuses me though, because her armor looks completely different from the back than it does in that picture. I would guess that it's like Garrus', much smaller than the armor makes it look.

Before the comic came out, a part of me expected the females to have little or no cowl at all. If there's any part of a Turian that I find most masculine, that would be it. But then I realized that wouldn't make much sense considering Saren's was small enough that for a while I thought he didn't have one.

The armour in the comic confuses me as well and I still subscribe to the theory that females only have shorter fringes than males and of course they would have the essential plating on the back of their heads and necks. The comics aren't exactly the most accurate depiction of the males either so, I'll take it with a grain of salt. Looking forward to seeing a young Saren in the next issue, I was rather impressed wiht Desolas' colouration and hope Saren gets a similar treatment from the artists.



And unrelated to the discussion of female turians, I'm not sure how many of you are following the upcoming Dragon Age 2 game but in one of the character threads, one of the more, ecstatic Garrus fans had this run in with Brandon Keener on Facebook not too long ago (the art is by the magnificient Aimo, featuring Garrus and Varric):







Thought some of you may appreciate that. Gotta love the cross-franchise support/fandom

Maybe it's because I just got back from watching Watchmen... but that is just laugh out loud brilliant.
Also as for calibration jokes? They are now fully ingrained into Garrus's character, to the point where one cannot seperate one from another.
I could never get sick of Garrus, hence I could never get sick of calibrations. My view on things anyway.

Also I found this image doing a random search a while back, you guys probably have it but I thought I'd share it just in case you didn't. It's a mug shot of Garrus back in his 'pre Archangel' days.



Also one more thing, you'll notice I have a few little pictures of a few characters/races (Jack, Wrex and Geth as well as a 'support Ashley' banner) and I was wondering if anyone here could show me a, reasonably small enough, little picture or banner to represent Garrus support that I could add there as well.
Cosmetic I know but given that he's been consistantly Shepard's ally through two games now I feel I needed to advertise my support for him to return.
