The man needs a hug, seriously.  The amount of times ME2 teased me with potential Garrus hugs was MEAN

1. When you see him for the first time on Omega

Shep: "GARRUS!!!" *arms are wide open in preparation for the most epic BFF hug in existence*

Garrus: Sup Shepard

*Shepard quickly pretends she was stretching or something*

uh...nope not right now. It's cool though, he's tired, his friends are dead... yeah, that's fine. We’ll totally hug later.

2. Talking to Kelly

Kelly: I just want to hold him close and whisper "It'll be alright"

Shep: I know exactly what you mean

JOY!Posted Image its really gonna happen!!! And I'm hugging the **** out of that turian when it does!! Can't wait, can't wait!!

3. Hugging everyone else in the game apart from Garrus

Ok , I've hugged Liara, Tali, Wrex... *2 hours later*...sorta tried to hug samara, can hug Kelly but WON'T *deep breath*  SO GARRUS MUST BE NEXT!!!

4.End of paragon loyalty

here it comes.....

*Shep puts an arm on Garrus*

dammit!!!

5. Romance

Garrus: I want something to go right just once...just..

Tasha, your new avatar is awesome. Garrus looks adorable at Tali's trial. :)

They should make a comic about Garrus's omega squad.

No.  Dark Horse is evil and ruins everything.

Besides, I'd rather have it left to the imagination.  What we dream up on our own will always be better than what's published, at least to us.

Hey, Evolution is awesome. xD The only thing I didn't like from them was Genesis.

Imagination is good for when we don't have the information, but I'd rather know the truth. I made up a whole past for Saren before Evolution came out - some things were proved true (which was great), others were different than I imagined (still great though), but it was the truth. In my case, I'm normally torn between imagining the worst that could have happened to cause them to be the way they are, and a not-as-bad version because I wouldn't want a favorite of mine like Saren to suffer too much. The problem is, that could make his past anywhere from "he was told about his brother's death later" to "he saw it happen." It's a pattern among my favorites, and I always want to know more. I'm glad BioWare is telling us.

Oh yeah, and I support an Archangel comic. I'd like to see what his squadmates were like.

Hyrule_Gal wrote...

we could have used a proper conversation after his mission, one where he talks about his squad more and also about what choice you made with sidonis. Garrus needed some closure but sadly we are never given it. It would have been the perfect conversation for shep to bring up the people SHE felt responsible for but died (VS survivor, torfan, akuze etc) so that Garrus could see that he wasn't alone.

I've said it before, but I would have liked Shepard to talk with Garrus about this. The conversation works just as well if Shepard blames him/herself, the person who killed them, feels guilty about it or not... either way, it would show Garrus that he's not the only person who lost someone, and Shepard is there for him. It would have been a great chance for the player to develop Shepard too, like the three dialogue choices to Kaidan/Ashley after Virmire, or to Jacob in the shuttle when he asked about Virmire.

While we find out what Garrus has been up to the past two years, we still don't know any more about his real background to be honest. He could at least show me a pic of Palaven or something dammit, mini-Garrus optional. Probably start reminiscing over his first rifle.

Mini-Garrus should be required. :D But this would be great either way, especially if we go to Palaven in ME3. I want to meet his sister! She sounds cool. And meeting his mother would definitely be an emotional moment.

So, I swear this is on topic... mostly. Speaking of having more Garrus romance content, my husband made this for me yesterday and he said I could share: dustytome.net/forClaire/turianWine.html

It's a cute, simple little choose your own adventure type thing starring Garrus and his adventures trying to buy wine for the romance scene. The ending is always the same, but there are about a half dozen different ways for Garrus to get there. He made it really quickly while he was at work, so there are little factual errors and typos, but I thought it was too adorable not to share.

Just click whichever choice you want and it will take you to the next scenerio. If you want to replay, just reload it.

Thanks Kim! Took me a long time to get this new avatar out and rocking, having the technical ability of a pyjak. No wonder I prefer the biotic classes.
And I really do love the Garrus quotes magenator, I stared at the screen for quite a few minutes just laughing at them. And I like how a lot of them are specific to Garrus as well as opposed to Chuck Norris used ones.
Haha Hyrule Gal! I always thought Shepard was constantly on the cusp of hugging Garrus, but alas, it was never meant to be.
What Kim put about Garrus' family made me think, you put his mum but not his dad.

I get the impression that Garrus' parents have split up. In ME1, he refers to his father with a little bit of bitterness. He basically prevented his progression by his emphasis on 'red tape.' And in ME1, he never mentions his mum or sister.

However, in ME2, the LotSB dossier talks about his mum and sister, but they don't mention his father. The fact that whenever they are mentioned, they are referred to separately (never Garrus' parents) always gave me the impression that they had split up.
Anyone else think that too? Or am I reading too much into it again :D

Knowing the current state of affairs in weaving a coherent and consistent background, I think you are reading into it too much ;) Clearly the fate of the galaxy rests upon reuniting Garrus' family in ME3, so their combined awesomeness causes the reapers to flee. I think that might annoy other people slightly.

Actually this has probably been pointed out, but what annoys *me* is that the Garrus avatars in the forum are still - after all this time - not labelled as 'Garrus' when you put your mouse over them. He is apparently just "Turian" or perhaps "Ally?". It niggles me, it does. One of those things I lie awake at night silently raging at. Sort of.

I've wondered about the reason why Sol was frustrated that Garrus wasn't working to help support his sick mother when his father, as far as we know, is still alive. It just seemed strange to me because I think of that as a job for the husband/father, and not necessarily their children. I assumed he had a good job with C-Sec, judging by the way Garrus said he used to watch his father on the news vids, which kind of implies that he was one of the more "famous," well-known, or higher ranking officers.

I would hope he's helping out with the medical bills even if they are divorced (which also makes sense, with Garrus growing up on Palaven and his father working in the Citadel), but if he's not... I don't know, I wouldn't understand why Garrus cares so much about what his father thinks if he's the kind of guy who wouldn't help his dying wife/mother of his children. I get the impression that any paycheck Garrus could manage would be nothing compared to his father's, so why would Sol want him to help out with the money instead of the caretaking?

Turians are confusing sometimes.

Hmm. Never thought of that before. I also get the impression that his dad is a very well respected turian and will have a decent income. And the fact that Sol talks to Garrus about contributing to help mum, infers that his dad hasn't done much.

I only brought up because I read a Garrus fanfic where they visit Palaven, and his parents were divorced, and that is when I really began to think that it made sense.

I noticed this too!! All the other character avatars had their names on them. Except Garrus?! What the hell? Just 'turian?' I wonder if the person who did the avatars actually didn't know who Garrus was, or had a personal vendetta against him.

I think the Garrus avatars are probably just labelled "turian" because they're still trying to keep his appearance in ME2 a secret for new players, but haven't realized yet that the avatars show his face and completely takes away any of the mystery. xD

As for his father... well, for his sake, I hope he is helping out Garrus' mother, or else Earthborn Ruthless will punch him. Hard. With biotics. And a glare that would terrify the Reapers. But he and a few others (MainShep in particular) would do the same if he insulted Saren, so something tells me Papa Vakarian will not like my Shepards.

Ah yeah, never thought of that. But I assume that most of those who go on here know about Archangel anyway :D
Then again, that sexy turian face is very obviously Garrus. Hmm... At least my new avatar likes to keep his identity unknown...

Garrus says that papa Vakarian won't like any Shepards, on the sole premise that they are spectres. But unfair of his really. From the little info we get about him though, it is crazy how different Garrus and his dad seem to be.

@Tasha: Everyone on the ME2 forums would know, but if someone with a ME2 avatar posts on the DAO forms, they might not know yet... not that most would be able to tell the difference between ME1 Garrus and ME2 Garrus before they played the game. The only people who would really be spoiled by it would have played ME1, not ME2, and would look at Garrus in his Archangel pose thinking "When did this happen?" with or without the name. But I never even noticed that the avatars do that. xD

Yeah, I don't think the conversation with Garrus' father would go well for anyone's Shepards, but more so for mine because they all encourage Garrus to be Renegade and quite a few of them like Saren. I'd like to see the talk between him and MainShep. He would be shocked by her love for Saren, I bet.

You know, I never thought about why papa Vakarian wasn't mentioned in the dossiers. Divorced would make sense if Garrus' mom is anything like Garrus. Seems those two would butt heads a lot if that was the case. As for Garrus himself he always felt like he grew into teenage rebellion against his father and then never grew out of it, haha.

As a quick side note, how do you change your avatar? I was under the impression that you could not, so if someone could send me a message with how you do it, I would be super grateful.

Hehe! That would be a conversation to see!

My Sheps usually renegade Garrus too. He should be free to go along with what works for him.
And yeah, true, but like you said, they would be able to just tell by his face anyway. Despite whether or not it has 'turian' instead of 'Garrus' people will still know.
But I guess it is better than only having a helmeted Garrus. Despite how sexy Garrus' helmet is. He also has only one avatar picture...

@Yami: There are instructions for custom avatars here in Clan V.

@Tasha: I can't even imagine just one scenario for how it would go down if my group of Shepards met Papa Vakarian. Anything from Saren bragging about his "Renegade Spectre interspecies relations" with MainShep to Earthborn Ruthless interrupt punching him, running back to the shuttle, and telling his team "Seatbelts on! Seatbelts on! Go, go, go, go! He wasn't there! >_>" while C-Sec agents chase him out.

Tsk, true renegades don't wear *seatbelts*, dammit!

How does anyone think turians in general are going to be portrayed in ME3 given that we are going to have to 'rally the galaxy' and all that? Are they just going to played up as antagonistic die-hards who can't possibly forget about R-314 (I hope not) or just reluctant since their casualties at the battle of the Citadel? Maybe it all wagers on everyone's favourite councilor and persuading him. In any way possible. This time, Shepard brings the wine.

There's no possible way that can end badly.

There doesn't seem to be a shortage of nude turian "concepts" on the internetz, for some reason <.<

I think the turians are pretty much over the Contact War business already, it always seems to be the humans who are hung up about it. Most turians seem to dislike humans because they perceive them as too impatient and ambitious.

If ME3 is anything like DA:O, then the conflict with the turians will be over some plot introduced in the game, like an indoctrinated general or something, that Shepard will have to solve in order to get their support. If anything I think the decision to let the Council live or die will have the largest impact on rallying them.

On the subject of Garrus' father.. I just assumed he was one of those workaholic cop types. We don't know if he's still working for C-Sec or not (I assume not or we would have heard about some sort of heated disagreement when Garrus returns to the Citadel in between ME1 and ME2). Maybe he's retired or working for the Hierarchy now? Or maybe he's a good cop gone bad.. that would be a twist, especially given how much Garrus looked up to him. If he's retired, that might contribute to why he can't help with the finances (or maybe the treatment is just so incredibly expensive that nobody can really afford it?) or maybe he's just out of the picture because he is "on assignment" or has gotten into some sort of trouble.

I would really like to meet all of the Vakarians in ME3, it'd certainly be interesting to see how Garrus interacts with all of them and it would be great if he finally decides to stand up to his father after working with Shepard for so long. I didn't get the impression that there was a divorce, just that Mr. Vakarian is MIA or too busy to help.

It would be a nice contrast for an Earth-born Shepard who is dating a turian who grew up in a mostly-normal family environment.

And yay for more nude turians.. we need more, for science!
