Hey, guys! I'm here to crank the rumor mill.

It seems that Garrus will be back in action in ME3.  Or, at least, there will be substantial dialogue with him.

Take this with a grain of salt--this is just some girl on the internet who went to a DA2 release party in Edmonton (explained here). Not verifiable or anything, but I doubt she'd make stuff up.

But it's nice to get the hype machine going.

That's interesting... if there's a writer assigned for Garrus conversations, then he has to be a squaddie, right? =D *grasping at straws*

And she says initially there was more dialogue after the suicide mission but was cut out. I wish they could implement that in DLC, e-mails, DVD extras, somehow =(

*bounces* oh now i'm excited. want more Garrus. I mean, he's been a squaddie for two games running, right? they wouldn't just take him away now. that would be like taking away the Normandy or Joker. and they wouldn't do that either ...... right?? *hopeful puppy dog eyes*

Why would they cut Garrus dialogue from ME2? Poor guy hardly got to say anything as is. Oh well, here's hoping that hinting really does mean he'll be back in ME3.

I wonder if the cut conversation was a romance specific post suicide mission dialogue like Tali and Jacob had. That would have been so cool.

We still don't know whether it was a 'night to treasure,' or a 'horrible inter-species awkwardness thing.'
Although, I have formulated my own opinion ;)

yeah, i would LOVE to know the answer ... i think it was probaby somewhere in between.  lots of fumbling and learning.  which can be fun too. lol. :D

stupid people cutting conversations.  i have a strong feeling though that they'll realize that he has some serious fans out here who want to see more.   I hope BioWare is cool about that. unlike other people i could name. *sighs*

Could someone post a brief summary of the ME3 Garrus info here? I can never look and deviant art because it always tries to give my PC a virus, and I want to know. >_>

As for Saren in the novels... I won't even get into it because I don't want to argue with Kim. But I do respect him as a villain and was sad to see him go at the end of ME1.

A lot of people who liked Saren in ME1 didn't like him in Revelation. I liked him in ME1 and Revelation made him my favorite. Different opinions for different people, and all that.

Kim, the link was a journal entry by someone who had been to a party with lots of Bioware staff. She said that she met James (who is Garrus' writer) and had a laugh with him. It also mentioned he was very busy with ME3 at the moment. Inferring that there will be lots of Garrus dialogue in ME3!!

She said she mentioned about how he didn't get much dialogue, and he explained that there was cut dialogue that was romance material from after the suicide mission.
I really hope that that dialogue resurfaces. I know of some cut Thane dialogue, but none of Garrus' cut lines.

So if anyone finds it, please send a link on here!

Thanks. :) I figured there was a reason why Garrus only got repeat romance lines after the suicide mission, whether it was a glitch or something else. Luckily, I got dialogue that made sense (the "still haven't forgotten what we talked about" line) as opposed to the line most people seem to get.

I got that line too. So what was the line that a lot of other people got?

It was one that suggested Garrus and Shepard didn't have their night together yet... possibly the "I want to try it with you" line, but I don't remember exactly. It was more of a big topic for discussion a while after ME2 came out. Now everyone just knows there's no romamce dialogue after the endgame.

What are the lines he says for you Kim? Think I have the bugged out dialogue post-SM. Wonder what we have to do to convince one of the devs to release that cut dialogue, hmm..

The "I haven't forgotten what we talked about" dialogue. It sounds like he and Shepard talked about something after the fade-to-black, even though I know it's a repeat line. There's also a part about him working on some tech thing (can't remember his exact words) which fit with the Normandy getting pretty banged up after the suicide mission.

Hey look, it's some more Saren. Evolution #3 preview.

He really seems to be enjoying himself in battle there. It's amazing how well my own version of young Saren matches up with the canon.

Yay more Saren goodness. Just got my copy of issue 2 (finally!) and loving the alternate cover artwork. Did we ever figure out what language that was? I suspect it might be turian but it could be some sort of geth/husk language too.

The alternate cover is awesome. I only have the normal covers because that's what the stores seem to have. xD

Spoilers
I was guessing that the language is turian, but now I'm confused. Ben was speaking in that language - same symbols as there were for Desolas and TIM in #2, with the asari language being something completely different. But Saren gave Ben an order that he understood which wasn't in that unknown language. I just hope it tells us so I don't have to keep looking at the writing on Garrus' visor for similarities. It's hard to tell, especially when the writing would be backwards to anyone who's not in Garrus' point of view.

so I'm a little behind in the party here...  i JUST finished ME2 last night. OMG WHAT AN ENDING.  Ok, now that I'm done with that..... I was SO DAMNED DISAPPOINTED that there was NOTHING after that from him. *sighs*  I got the same one as you, Kim. I shoulda realized that would happen, but I didn't. stupid Bio/ware.

Also, apparently I did not know that there was a comic out. Where do i find this?  and how many issues are there?  I was at Barnes n Noble the other day looking, just at random, for comics in my fandoms and didn't see one. Now I know this is Barnes n noble... but do you think it would be at Newbury comics or somesuch?

I didn't mind having that line repeat again, actually. I mean, more dialogue with my favorite characters would be great, but the dialogue Garrus used in my game seemed to fit so well that if I hadn't recognized as a repeat line, I wouldn't have questioned it. I like thinking that Garrus and my FemShep talked about something right before heading off into battle. :)

I've been able to find Evolution at comic book stores, but not any of the major bookstores. The first comic series, Redemption (which is about Liara giving Shepard's body to Cerberus before ME2), is in the bookstores by now though. Only #1 and #2 of Evolution are out so far - there will be a total of four when it's finished. And Evolution has Saren. :D

I wish the looping dialogue for me was "I uh haven't forgotten what we talked about" it would have least made sense, except garrus in my game acts like he lost his memory "Part of me still thinks we're crazy.." I was thought a collector beam hit him in the head or something LOL

I would like to know if its possible to hear this lost dialogue, I know there's clever chap on this board who is a ninja at finding hidden recordings. Perhaps he/she can find it?
