I have a lot of different Shepards, but one thing they all agree on is revenge. Lucky for them, Garrus agrees. I don't think any of them can really be called Paragon. The closest to Paragon I planned out turned into a "kill all evil" Paragade, who's good friends with Garrus.

The obvious solution to choosing between Anders and Fenris - don't choose, make Hawkes for both.

I've been wondering that too, but I have no idea. Someone needs to check that website that says every part the VAs ever played in, because I don't remember what it was. xD

LOL, yes. it will be like my Shepards.  i will have one for each.    i'm pretty paragon. though, yes. Revenge. i'm all about revenge.

One (or more) character for each romance is normally the way to go.

@eshrafel: When I found a list, it only says "additional voices" for Saren's VA. So I still have no idea.

DA2... literally will turn me into some sort of crazy, ranting, gibbering idiot if I try to even mention it. Which isn't because I didn't like it, but for various... issues. I'll just say, I would love if they have some aspects of the game in ME3, but hate if they have others. By the end of that game, I was stressed to all hell. I am way, far too obsessive of a person to ever pick up Bioware games. I think I should have learned that by now. I get super invested in characters, so if anything goes wrong, my head explodes for a few days... weeks... whatever.

But I digress. Garrus! I don't know if any femShep I make will ever be able to romance anyone else. Even though I like Thane and think other romances might work better for various Shepards, I cannot resist Garrus. He's just too good.

oh Yami.. you and me both. on both accounts. lol. I get sooooooooo obsessive over things, it drives my boyfriend crazy. lol. I've just acquired Fenris... and trying to keep both him and Anders happy... oh its hard. now i'm really curious to know what you mean though, about the ending.

also, I'm with you on the romancing Garrus thing. I was literally just thinking that i should start my next playthrough... the one where i was planning on romancing Thane... and then it made me sad. I'm not sure that i can romance any other. *sighs* if only Thane like boys (like his counterpart, Zevran) then that would make my life easier. lol. i get too attached.

I get attached to my favorite characters too, but most of my favorites tend to be villains, so I'm used to them being killed off by now. When my favorites actually survive, it's like a pleasant surprise. xD In Evolution, I already know one of my favorites (Desolas, Saren's brother) isn't going to make it out alive, but at least Saren and TIM will survive... just with a lot of heartbreak.

That is actually one of my favourite songs. It was a cover that Nightwish did from Gary Moore I believe (RIP Gary Moore, he recently passed away.)
I love Nightwish too, and I'm actually listening to them at the moment. Ghost love score and Creek Mary's Blood are my favourite songs by them.

Also, I think I'll be going for Fenris, because I like dark, mysterious guys. But I don't know if it would be better to have a friendship based romance, or a rivalry based one. Which is the best? Wrong thread I guess.

I've never heard the song, but those are nice lyrics for a very emotional scene.

@Tasha: Well, I don't want to post any spoilers here, but... if you're playing a mage, I say go for rivalry romance.

Garrus and Fenris definitely have revenge in common. And I believe they have another thing in common, but that's a spoiler too. I think Garrus has more in common with Anders though, with the sense of justice and sarcasm. I'm going for Anders first just because when I know a character (in his case, from Awakening), it's easier for me to know which one of my own would work best in a relationship with them. I guess it was like that for Garrus too, since I already liked him from ME1 and got to know him with a MaleShep first. I made a FemShep who liked him before I even knew he would be an option. Then after I found out, I finished her ME1 playthrough really fast. xD

also, i'm at work right now. i manage a dunkin donuts, sorta... we just had an inspection and i was trying not to giggle the whole time, cause all the inspector could talk about was our calibrations. and the machines being calibrated. it was horrible! here's me trying to hold back laughter while my store is being evaluated.

i would definitly call Garrus a mix of Anders and Fenris. which could just be cause they are both sexy and awesome. lol. but yes i agree that he is a fair amount like Anders in attitude.. I think that his beliefs are a bit more like Fenris though.
Gods, when Fenris walked out for is intr story and gave me the arched eyebrow look though, i was smitten.

Now that you mention it, Fenris' attitude towards mages does have similarities to Garrus' attitude about criminals. Remember what he says in banter with Mordin during Jack's recruitment mission about the guards and prisoners? Garrus seemed to think that the guards actions were understandable because they were dealing with dangerous criminals, and Mordin said that the criminals were so vicious because of the way they were treated by the guards. Mordin got some approval points from my Earthborn Ruthless for that comment.

So maybe Garrus is an even combination of both. It would explain why a lot of Garrus fans like both...

There's also the loyalty thing.  It's really easy to make Fenris ditch you.  So while I guess they do share some qualities, I know which personality I'd rather spend time around if it manifested in a real life person--Garrus, hands down.  I say this as someone who is currently doing a Fenris friendmance and enjoying it!

Yeah, the amount of loyalty and trust that Garrus has for Shepard can't really be compared to any other romance. He never leaves Shepard, never lies to Shepard, and there's no way to fail his loyalty mission because he just respects Shepard's opinion that much. The only one who really comes close is Tali.

I do feel certain that there are few people IRL that i'd like to spend time with over Garrus.   You are right though, he's more controlled then Fenris. But I think that has to do with the whole "being tortured" thing that Fenris went through. He tends to lash out. He's far more passionate. 

Either way, they're both really great dynamic characters... as that is what BioWare does best anyhow.

and yes... Kim, that's why i'll pick him every single time. because... that kind of loyalty is wonderful.

I think I figured it out now. Garrus is a combination of Anders and Fenris. Fenris is a combination of Garrus and Jack. That one's... a little strange. A former cop and an escaped convict? o_o

I agree, BioWare makes awesome characters.

I could see Fenris maybe being a combo of Jack and Garrus. My only issue being humor and loyalty. To me, the main reason I love Garrus is that he makes me laugh all the time and he's loyal to the end. Fenris, meanwhile, never made me laugh and was always storming off. I think I was too much of a mage sympathizer in that game to ever fully love Fenris.

If he still had more of his humor, I'd say Anders is fairly close to Garrus. He's funny and he's extremely passionate about justice. Granted, he ihas to be passionate about justice with said spirit inside him but that definitely gave him a Garrusy vibe for me. On the other hand, I never saw Garrus breaking my Shepard's heart but felt like Anders had a blinking sign above his head warning off Hawke.

My problem is, my favorite characters are generally heroes, but I seem to be an expert at loving the heroes that will somehow end up crushing me to pieces. Since I get so invested in those characters, I haven't managed to get used to it. That's why I am still hoping Garrus is immune to this particular problem. So far he seems imbued with so much awesome that he could pull out ahead in the end.

I like the theory that Fenris is a combination of Jack and Garrus, and that Garrus is a combination of Fenris of Anders.

Odd, seeming though there are some very contrasting characters, but it kind of illustrates that everyone has their yin and yang!
