It was mentioned how sane Garrus (and other ME LI's) seems after playing DA2, and I completely agree. I probably wouldn't change the Anders romance for anything, but it definitely made me want to immediately pick up ME2. Garrus is such a rock for Shepard, whether as a friend or LI. I'm just sad there probably won't be any sort of Garrus/Shep goodness in Arrival. Although, as someone mentioned, I couldn't totally see him arguing about Shepard going off on her own.

Edit: Uh-oh, top. Um... Garrus!

Thanks. I couldn't resist drawing Garrus in loyalty armor, though I do love his classic blue.

All of your art is just awesome... first Nihlus, then Saren, and now Garrus in loyalty armor. :D

I also love that the turian emblem is in the background. Very great drawing there.
Obsydian, I have asked Louvette to draw a Garrus nekkid fanart on Drellickers, if I get her permission, I will post it on here :D

You read the last two chapter Kim! Very naughty! Especially considering what happens in the beginning.

And also, all these people who are being timid about the fanfics, I read them and enjoyed them! Don't be so shy, you guys a talented! In fact, Garrus fanfics are the most well written ones in my opinion (and I have read fics for many characters!)

Does that symbol have a turian meaning? I just thought of it as the Archangel symbol.

And Tasha, I read your fanfic the same way I read Revelation - Saren stuff first, get to the rest later. xD Be proud. It's one of the few fanfics I've read any part of.

Yeah, it is the turian insignia, it is shown on the side missions screen when you are getting the artefacts from that battle on ME1. And it was labelled as the turian insignia I believe.

Also, I am proud! (Saren doesn't feature, there are just strong parallels!) But let me know what you think! :D

I can't find a picture of it, but I don't think it was exactly the same. Oh well, close enough. I'm sure they have a few.

Your Shepard actually rivals one of my own as "most likely to become Saren." And my other Shepards voted him "most likely to become Saren." xD That's an accomplishment.

Hehe, very proud! I did want to get people to empathise with Saren more and his situation with Sovereign. So decided to reverse it onto Shepard, and see if people still perveive her as a 'hero.'

Because from what we can gather, Saren did a lot of good for the galaxy before he went 'rogue.' Anyone could fall into that situation. But people perveive Saren differently because they only see him as the villain.

The turian insignia from ME1 is different, it looks like Nihlus's and the councilor's tattoos.

Nothing in the game says what the symbol on Garrus's armor means. It could be anything from his rank in the squad to the armor's brand. I think it may be the symbol of his home colony because it has some vague resemblance to his tattoos, and in one of the novels a turian general has her colony's flag on her office that matches her tattoos, so it could be something similar to that.

That's what happens when the game forces you to fight him, I guess. In the beginning, I just thought of Saren as a cool-looking turian I would have to fight to beat the game. But then there was his Virmire speech, his suicide at the Battle of the Citadel, Revelation, and now Evolution... I don't think I saw him as a true "villain" after Virmire though.

And all of his paranoia suddenly makes even more sense after Evolution #3. D:

@Liec: I forgot about the insignias matching tattoos. I wonder if the "Archangel symbol" would be Palaven's insignia then?

Oh man, I haven't read Evolution 2 or 3 yet! Only one comic store anywhere near me, and they don't have them two.

I need to play ME1 again and check those turian insignias then, I was sure it was an eagle type thing...

And that's the thing with Saren, you see him as a villain, and don't think of what he was like before hand. Which is why it's great that the comics provide that insight. The Virmire speech was so amazing. And also what Matriarch Benezia said about him and the effects of indoctrination.

She could break out of it for a period of time, I know Saren was in deeper, but I wonder what he would do if he managed to break out of his indoctrination for a short period of time...

OOH, Tasha, I can't wait to see... I hope she'll do it. :D  Like i said.. be begging her a bit on devArt. hehe.
I kinda want to get the turian symbol as a tattoo... or at least see if i can get it decaled for my car.

I'll start reading allll of these fics when the boy leaves and I'm  needing to kill time and be less sad. Reading Garrus fics will cheer me up though.

Glad you guys like the pic. I personally thought it was just his Archangel emblem, but it might be a more general Turian related thing. I'm fairly certain, though, that the Turian insignia in ME1 wasn't the same eagle looking image. It looked like a flattened out version of Nihlus' tattoo.

I know this just sounds like the  ramblings of a fangirl but I honestly think having  Gar shirtless is better animation wise (hear me out!)  One of the big problems was that garrus was always in bulky armour which meant it would have caused so many clipping issues if Shepard got close. The less clothes he has on the thinner he is, the thinner he is the less clipping issues there'll be! So it’s actually practical to have him half-nekkid for the next game *nods*

Also take into account the no snogging thing, they need to find  a way to make up for that right? Answer? Half-nekkid Garrus. By putting more emphasis on physical touch it will still show just as much intimacy as if they were kissing. If they can make a separate model for Jacob for his romance scene *snore* they can do the same for Gar. Those pixelated abs went to waste because nearly everyone wanted to see thane and Garrus in the buff.

Your arguments for Shirtless Garrus are believable and compelling, and your passion for this worthy cause is greatly appreciated. :o:D

I always did wonder about that symbol, since there's never any mention of it or its meaning. I do find it interesting that Garrus retains his ties to Palaven (the markings we know for sure, not so sure about the armour insignia). There weren't many turians on Omega that weren't barefaced, and why would there be? They are all mercenaries or rebels that have left turian space and left their obligation to the Hierarchy. Garrus, with all his trouble with the red-tape on the Citadel, still seems ok with identifying himself as a citizen, even if his specialisation at the start of the game is actually titled "turian rebel". I always did wonder what his opinions on that subject were, he talks more about his life at C-Sec than his life on Palaven prior to that (well, ok there is the reach and flexibility chat about some of his time in the military). So does he support the Hierarchy now or not?

Do we have any beta-readers on this thread? Most everyone has posted their fan-fic or spoken about it with the qualifier of "it sucks" to one degree or another.

Thanks for the offer(s) to Beta-read. My husband gets grumpy when I ask him to go over certain parts with me. I think he's jealous. What he doesn't get is that I like Garrus so much is partially because of his voice, but mostly because of his personality- which reminds me of my husband's. ^_^

This is me.  Though I had to stop talking ME stuff w/ my husband because he got tired of it.  But he and Garrus have some very similar qualities.

Now I just need to see a Shirtless Garrus :3  Needs more analysis.

Well, if you don't mind reading spoilers, I posted the turian (and Saren) information in Clan V. :) Complete with turian religion and the best description of Palaven I could manage. I'm so glad BioWare gave us the comics. I always want to know more about my favorite characters, and this is the stuff I wanted to know most of all! ...Now tell us his military rank, BioWare. Please?

I think we know exactly what Saren would do if he was able to break free from indoctrination for a while. ): He killed himself, remember?

What's interesting is that none of the turians I saw on Palaven had the same tattoos as Garrus. There could be a lot of turians who were born elsewhere and then moved to the homeworld for opportunity or whatever reason, but it was a little surprising. I wouldn't be surprised if the artists just didn't think about the meaning of the tattoos though, since Saren's brother randomly got tattoos between volumes 1 and 2. (Still have no idea where Saren's from, by the way. Just that his brother said "I have returned," which could mean returned to Palaven or returned from war.)

I meant Saren. xD

So far, I know he spent only one year in boot camp and was promoted to active service after that. By the time of the First Contact War, when he's 18, he already has his own guards and seems to be in charge when his brother (a General) isn't around. But I should have expected him to have a high rank. He's the youngest turian Spectre. It's just surprising because I keep thinking 18 is young... not so much for a turian though.

For some reason, I want to say the Arterius family is from Palaven (haven't read issue 3 of Evolution yet) but I can't remember why I am thinking that. There could be multiple tattoos for the homeworld as well, like based on what region one is from since the population would probably be much higher than any colony world.
