That would make sense, the tattoos being based on different regions of Palaven. I can't help but think they messed up their facts a little with the tattoos though, with Desolas getting one out of nowhere, possibly to help us tell him apart from Saren (I noticed his colors also got darker/brighter too - he looked much closer to Saren in volume 1).

Do you know something I don't know about Saren's family?  All I know is that Desolas acted like he knows Palaven well, but that was from volume 3. Before that, I would have guessed they weren't from Palaven because of Saren not having tattoos.

Well, keep in mind that just because a turian is from a colony doesn't mean they HAVE to manifest that colony's tattoos.  They could very well choose not to and just be a barefaced badass rebel.

I threw in ME2 to finish my canon Shep on PC last night and listening to her and Garrus banter and be awesome and pretty freaking normal for a physically incompatible couple with a suicide mission looming over them was...nice.

Oh, who am I kidding. I practically hugged my monitor and sobbed "OhgodI'vemissedyou." and "Goddammit, Anders, why couldn't you have been a Mass Effect LI?" (A: Because I would die if I had to choose between him and Garrus). Shepard and Garrus are the cure for the common case of Dysfunctional Couple Syndrome in video games.

And yeah, I'm starting to miss Garrus. I still love playing ME. But I know all the lines now, and what he does. But fanfics fill in the time nicely!

And Garrus is quite sane (and amazing) in his romance dialogue and scene, but of course, he is an alien looking alien, so a lot of people may perceive that as reason enough for him being a crazy LI. Not me though! I love them turians!

yeah, i feel ya on the getting too used to the Garrus-y goodness that happens in ME1.  fortunaltly i've only been through ME2 once... so its all gonna be new to me again. lol.   i agree.  i quite love turians.  such attractive aliens.

The simple solution being that Shepard should be able to choose both of them. Really though, I need to get back to my canonShep replay. Although, now I'll wish all the more for the option to hug Garrus. Not because he needs it (though he does) but because I feel like clinging to his sanity and stability.

I like the direction BioWare is going with their romance options! They're getting better every time, in my opinion. If they keep this up in ME3... *looks at Saren, Kai Leng, and TIM*

Boo, I always loved Garrus, from ME1, but I romanced Thane for my ME2 playthrough... I did everything, intending it to be my main Shep, and now I honestly can't be bothered to replay everything to change love interests >.< (I even managed to gather over one million credits, was a lot of work....) Gah, I don't have any savefiles from before the IFF mission so I could, at least, not have to start from scratch. This makes me so sad  I read here that relationships can be changed after the suicide mission, but when I broke up with Thane and went to talk to Garrus, he was all like, CALIBRATIONS!... Any help here for a fellow Garrus lover? :innocent:

Did you not know that Garrus was a romance option before you played through the game?

My advice is always to play multiple Shepards. Garrus and Thane are both great romance options. I don't know if it would work to romance him after the suicide mission if his dialogue about sparring and "blowing off steam" isn't there anymore... and it kind of makes sense that it wouldn't be, because the dialogue sounds like it's made for pre-suicide mission romance. If you still have your ME1 save file to import, you could play the same Shepard again with Thane romanced on one playthrough and Garrus on the other.

More advice, save often and keep many saves.

Thanks I usually keep a bunch of savegames, but I guess I just accidentally replaced the ONE SAVEGAME that mattered. Oh well, I guess an excuse to play the game again is always good, right?

Anyways... I'm dropping in to show my support for Garrus again. Hopefully this picture is at least new to someone.

Yeah...I'm starting to miss my nice, sweet, sane turian.  Not that Garrus doesn't have his problems; he's hot-headed, impulsive, and vengeance-obsessed.  (Great, that makes him sound like Anders).  But he gets saner, not crazier, and he's 100% always got Shepard's back.

Good point. But Saren always has a reason... and I want to know the reason. xD And the reason why his brother got random tattoos when TIM was unconscious. He must have been just as confused as I was.

I wouldn't mind if there was a scene like that... Of course, I wouldn't want to change the romance scene they already have. It's adorable. I mean as a second scene.

Then again, Garrus probably wouldn't let himself rage like that in front of Shepard. That's more Saren's style.

What if Garrus gets indoctrinated in ME3?

If bioware stoops that low, I do hope there is a way to save him.
