After the crazy which is the Anders romance I am glad that Garrus is at least somewhat stable LOL

I second this like the fist of an angry god.

Not that Garrus doesn't have his issues.  But they don't subsume who he really is...they just confuzzle him for a bit before he figures himself out.  It also helps that he's not possessed by a demon :)

EDIT for TOP:  Garrus and Alistair wonder...are we the only sane guys around here?

I like that Garrus has issues but they don't destroy him. Shep and Garrus are both really resilient. They manage to survive through things that might completely break others. And at the end of the day, they can sympathize with each other. Garrus has had some hard times but Shepard has his back and helps him through it. Garrus and Shepard help hold each other together.

Garrus: When I was on Omega, I met a spirit of Justice who was living outside Afterlife. He needed a host, and I agreed to help him. Together we would bring Justice to Omega. But things went wrong, he didn't like sniper rifles and I love my sniper rifle. He also didn't like supportive waists and wasn't fond of the colour blue. It was a failure.

Shepard: .......But your markings are blue and your armour is blue. How could he not see that?

Garrus: He is colourblind....Anyway, thanks for the talk Shepard. Now I'm off to place a bomb in the Citadel Tower.

Haha!
Garrus is already possessed by the spirit of Justice, he just doesn't know it yet.

It is what makes him an avenging archangel and all that!
Thanks Aowyn for posting the Garrus - old spice gif again :D

Also, yes.. that headbump idea is awesome.  Welcome, MoonEcho, love the ideas. I think more turian ANYTHING would be sweet. :D
It wouldn't surprise me if the BioWare team heard about that.  "The bump heard round the world"  Its adorable.

Shepard: Gee Garrus, what to you want to do in ME3?

Garrus: Same thing I do every game Shepard... GET REVENGE!

Shepard: Really? Again? Why do I even bother with the paragon options...

Yay, Old Spice Garrus! xD

Garrus has just enough crazy to be interesting. It does take a certain amount of crazy to try bringing justice to a lawless world, with only a few people against three large gangs and more. Garrus is a bit like my MainShep in that way - three parts brave and two parts crazy. But it works.

And I like his revenge missions. It's a pattern among my favorite characters, that they're all vengeful. If I had to guess though, his personal mission in ME3 (if there is one) would have something to do with his mother. Unless the team gets split up again for a while, there's no one else for him to take revenge on with Saleon dead and the Sidonis situation taken care of.

I fully expect a calibration joke in the next game but it has to be good! It can't just be said in passing, it needs to be MAGNIFICENT! It has to be on par with Shepard’s future delivery of “ah yes reapers” and you know that one is coming too.

I hope so. I want to see Shepard repeat that line back to the Council. >:D

Excellent. They can't count on MainShep to save them this time. No one leaves her for dead and gets away with it.

Sure, I'll save them with some Shepards. But they're on MainShep's bad side now.

You know my most renegade shepard kept them alive JUST so she could tell them to stuff it in ME2 and JUST so she could say "I told you so" before probably letting them die in ME3 (she rolls with Cerberus now). In fact that was what factored her decision to save the ascension in the first place, not to save lives but for the smug satisfaction she would get reminding those idiots that a human had to save their asses. The one shepard I have that didn't save them did so for logical reasons only and only regrets what that decision has done to alien and human relations not that it was wrong. I love messing with the stereotypical ideas of “renegade” and “paragon” decisions because to be so black and white about the choices is boring.

Yeah, I have Renegades who saved the Council for political reasons and a few Shepards who didn't save them because they thought it was a better strategy to focus on Sovereign. And then there's EvilShep, who put Udina on the Council in hopes that there will be another chance to get them killed off. (Becase no one stabs EvilShep in the back, Udina. No one.) MainShep's with Cerberus now too. How ironic, considering Saren's history with TIM... but in her defense, she knows nothing about that.

I think the most crazy Shepard perspective I'll play is one with split-personalities. He'll get that confused dialogue out of Garrus for sure.

If you do enjoy playing a "grey" shepard I find it a lot more difficult to do in ME2 vs ME1. Mainly because of the morality checks. You can do a second play through with your me1 shepard so both the charm and intimidate bars are filled the next time you play and every option is available to you. But ME2, that took some tactics and even then I wish I could have met some renegade checks but couldn't. I'm about to import my "canon" shep and I'm already trying to work out if I will be able to do the Thane mission check. She’ll be mostly paragon but that’s the main “high” renegade option I want her to be able to do. I’ll see how it goes.

I am a little worried about how ME2's Paragon/Renegade system will effect my current MaleShep. He was around 50% Paragon and 50% Renegade in ME1, but I had all the points in Charm/Intimidate filled, so there was never a problem. I'll just have to choose the most in-character option from the ones that are available.

Anyway, back to Garrus. He never makes us pass a Paragon/Renegade check. xD

I know right, another thing to add to the list of reasons why he's so great.

The fact that it's impossible to fail his loyalty mission, no matter which route you decide to take, says a lot about his trust for Shepard. :) He doesn't need a special persuade to maintain his loyalty. Of course, my Shepards tend to agree with him, but it's still nice to know.

Also notice he doesn't actually ASK shepard to help him. Kelly just noticed he was angry , he didn't tell her to give shep a message. Is he the only squaddie that does that? That's why helping him feels more like doing something for a friend I care about rather than doing something for him just so that his head is in the game for the final mission.

Thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't noticed. He's the same way in ME1. Shepard is the one to ask him about finding Saleon. Garrus doesn't ask for help until he knows that Shepard wants to help.

Garrus personal mission for ME3 is going to be to help him with his calibrations. And if you don't do it, the reapers will win :D.

Jokes apart... I hope we'll see Garrus's family in ME3, especially her sister... it should be a funny moment, especially in case of Garrusmancer Shepards.

Garrus' calibrations are important, for sure. That epic thanix cannon blast was proof. I can't help but imagine how much some of my Shepards would fail at tech though. FemShep who romances Garrus is lucky because she's a Sentinel, but what about a Vanguard?

Garrus: *explains a whole lot of tech stuff* And I need your help. Got it?
Earthborn Ruthless: I'm just going to be honest. I remember everything you said, but I have no idea what it means.
Garrus: You know how to take a gun apart and put it back together, right?
Earthborn Ruthless: Ever since I was a kid.
Garrus: This is the same thing, only with bigger parts.
Earthborn Ruthless: Oh, fun! >:D
Garrus: ...I'm going to regret letting him anywhere near the guns.

@Alienmorph: I hope we get to meet Garrus' family too, and see Palaven firsthand. And if where he lives looks nothing like Virmire (as Evolution showed), my FemShep will joke about him being a liar.

I just cheat in the requisite Paragon/Renegade, then remove it after I've made whatever check I wanted :D  One of the benefits of playing on a smaller PC screen.

I would definitely use the Paragon/Renegade cheat if I could. The current system limits my roleplaying possibilities, and if that's the only way to get around the system, then so be it. xD But that would require a gaming PC and some tech skill. Eventually...
