It looks like Garrus is giving Urz the finger. So yes, I think he ate Garrus' calibrations book.

So, having just read Evolution 2 and 3 SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ IT. READ NO FURTHER!!!!!

I was ecstatic at seeing Palaven, but felt a little bit sad that it was covered by radiation and ruined by war. I guess I knew that the turians were a race of war, but never thought of them constantly fighting each other.
As for Desolas, nice trick with the Illuvian priests! Haha. At first I thought those guys behind the robes could be geth. And if Saren can elevate the turians by studying the Prothean? artefact and studying its effects on Jack Harper, then isn't exactly what TIM does with Cerberus later anyway?

It almost sees to me like TIM learned his stance, his beliefs and a lot of things from Saren. Despite the hostility between them.

I so wanted to sneak Urz onto the normandy . He's a million times better than that hamster. By the way am I the only one who only buys the fish right before the romance scene just so the background looked pretty? At least they were good for something during that moment.

And although the hamster does nothing. It is a MINIATURE SPACE HAMSTER! Yay for Bioware using a Baldurs Gate reference. And Urz would be awesome on the Normandy. I bet Garrus would take a shining to him too. He would be great for a pet, like the Mabari Hound on DA.

It would have been awesome indeed to bring Urz onto the ship. I totally imagine him hanging out with Garrus in the main battery. Speaking of Garrus and his calibrations, I always think it's funny that he's super into the calibrations if he isn't romanced. Once you start the romance though, he always has time to talk (even if he doesn't have anything new to talk about). It's good the Thanix cannon is still up to snuff when the time comes even when he has Shepard distracting him every chance she gets.

I loved having the mabari.  I wish Urz could've been like him.  Puppies for every BioWare game.

I really should have bought new fish before the romance scene... I just thought they were swimming at the top of the tank until I noticed the "clean out dead fish" button. And then I was like, "What? I have to feed my virtual fish, but the space hamster is immortal?" xD

Garrus totally lied about the Virmire rememblance, unless his hometown was drastically different, and I didn't get the impression that it was. Palaven reminds me of Venus in some ways.

"Valluvian" priests.  But yeah, even TIM said Desolas knows how to work a crowd. They actually weren't as hostile towards each other as they could have been. TIM and Desolas even joked a little in the first comic ("pretty good plan, for a human"). It's so tragic that Saren will end up hating humans because of whatever happens in volume four when TIM is the only other person besides him who tried to warn Desolas. Amazing how similar their paths were after Evolution, if only they could have worked together. Saren did seem to get many of his current beliefs from Desolas. And Desolas looked adorable in his priest robes, even thoughI knew that plan was going in a bad direction.

Also, I think the monolith is a Reaper artifact. It's very similar to the one in Arrival. (I watched the youtube videos.)

It's like watching a bloody train wreck, isn't it?  I just want to reach into the comic strip, yell "THIS IS A TERRIBLE ****ING IDEA" and hit them all upside the head with the giant hand of God.

Well, I wouldn't want to hit Desolas... but I did want to grab him by the shoulders, shake him, and say "Don't snap at your brother like that! D: He's only trying to save you! Don't go through with this crazy plan!" I agree, it's like a train wreck. Poor Saren.

That heartbreak and feeling that something horrible is going to happen that most people felt during the Anders romance? I got it from Desolas.

What happened at the end of the Anders' romance was amazing! (Anti-chantry/templar/circle mages bitter hag here )

And I liked that the turians could have easily tortured TIM, made his life a misery or gone all out against humans. But they didn't. It showed that despite their focus on war and battle, that they are very humane. And despite Saren being the 'baddie' in ME1. He seemed even more chilled than Desolas.

Oops. 'Valluvian priests!' Hehe It is also interesting to see that Saren had the side horn things even before whatever happens happened to make him all cybernetic. And when is 4 coming out?

Yeah, I like the fact that they didn't make Saren and his brother out to be evil just for fun. They trated their prisoners better than others would. And it's so cute to see a younger, more relaxed Saren.

The side fringe is part of him, not cybernetic. Even though it looks like cybernetic implants were added to it later on. xD Desolas has side fringe too. I knew he would! It would be nice to know where Saren's first round of implants came from though, the ones he had in Revelation before his contact with Sovereign.

Evolution #4 comes out on April 20th.

I normally don't visit non-Tali threads, but a question occurred to me (and I was curious about ideas you fine folks over here in the Garrus/Turian thread may have):

How would FemShep and Garrus kiss? How would two Turians kiss, for that matter? It just doesn't seem like kissing would be a part of their culture, owing to the whole "no lips" thing.

Not trying to bash Garrus or Turians in general, or Garrusmancers (one of my FemSheps found out what his reach was like, lol). Just an aside that has popped into my head on occasion.

And what would be the Turian equivalent of a kiss?

I think the headbump is the turian form of a kiss.

Ashley's "you say kiss a turian, I say which cheek" comment also gave me an idea. You kiss them on both cheeks. xD The skin on their neck also seems to be closer to a human's, if Shepard wants to go for that.

In the story I imagine for my Shepards, Earthborn Ruthless tells MainShep that kissing a turian on the neck will drive them crazy in a really good way. xD And Saren wants to know why he had to tell her that right before a mission.

The fringe is what makes turians look awesome most of all, in my opinion. And my favorite has extra fringe. It looks adorable with those headbands. Saren seems to be the only one who wears them too, and he wore them (at least on and off) for 26 years.

Desolas didn't have tattoos in volume one. I'm curious to know if he has them later for any other reason than to make him look different than Saren. They did look very much alike in the beginning, so much that I thought Desolas was Saren in the first comic preview. In volumes two and three, there's no confusing one for the other.

So far it can be assumed that headbumping is the kiss equivalent for turians. As for how shep and Garrus would kiss,  shepard can still kiss him on the cheek, forehead, neck , and  maybe even the front of his mouth (so no French kisses for obvious reasons lol)  Basically kissing can still happen in their relationship it’s just that shepard would be the kisser more so than garrus. However I think it would be cute if Garrus awkwardly did try to “kiss” her just because he knows how important it is for humans to show affection.  I would love to see what the animators come up with because this is an interesting challenge for them.

I tend to leave that for my FemShep and Garrus to figure out   Partially because I prefer fade-to-black to awkwardly animated romance scenes, and partially because I am now ruined for kissing scenes by the epic glory that is the Anders kiss.

And yeah, I don't think any video game kiss will ever match up to the Anders kiss.  Love, passion, desperation, sheer WANT...it's all there.  And the NOISES.  Oh Maker, the noises.

Yeah, I imagined turians would do that sort of thing to. Lightly rub their foreheads together, or their face to the other one's neck, something like that.

And I agree, fade-to-black is good. The most physical scenes are very awkward to watch. Even the Anders kiss is a good kind of awkward. I was half looking away to give Anders and Kaya Hawke their privacy, and half amazed that they got Kaya's facial expressions so perfect. xD From what I've seen so far, DA2 did a good job of not getting too awkwardly physical with their romance scenes. Something like that would be a good direction for ME3.

The panting!  Combine that with fenris wall slamming and I was in fangirl heaven. If only I could have gotten Sebastian to sin then it would have been perfect LOL

Ok I'll try and keep this Garrus related. Are you guys hoping that they sort out the femshep dialogue for the next game? Everything Garrus said was perfect I just felt there were times femshep said the wrong thing. Now, I look at the Jacob romance and know it could have been a HELL lot worse so thank god that wasn't Garrus's.  It’s just the option to tell garrus to "stop talking too much" or "shut up" got me irked the most, other than that the femshep dialogue in the garrus romance was alright. And I use the word "alright" because I didn't have a say in the matter anyway.

I think they just need to bring back the branch options again to solve this problem.   With single options it feels like your shepard is out of your control, which was weird because this game is all about choices.  My shepard would NEVER have told Garrus to stop talking for example but you HAVE to say it if you want the romance to happen.  Single options in mass effect conversations should be a total no no.

I agree about Shepard's lines. Garrus was perfect. But with all of the fangirls who love his voice, why would they ever want him to stop talking? xD FemShep's lines could have been better. It's so great that BioWare gave us the Garrus romance though, and I hope we have the chance for FemShep to have more sweet, emotional lines with Garrus in ME3.
